  • 5:36 - DANGERZONE!!!

  • Phil Clendenin is the best in biz!

  • got to get me one!!! ASAP

  • I bought one of these awhile back and am still having difficulty getting the hang of it (I'm Old School). I wish Yamaha, or someone, would put out an instructional DVD. Would've been nice to insert an overhead "hands/panel" view.

BTW, I love this guy's explanations and wit!

  • this mas has just sold a piano! :) I love how this man explain severything!

  • what is the difference whit the Cp series?

  • @xRezarth the cp series is more of a stage piano, i think this is considered a workstation. lol if yu want the accurate answer, google it:P

  • This Man is GREAT!!! He is the BEST YAMAHA's PERFORMERS!!! and GREAT MUSICIAN!!! THANK YOU!!!

  • un sonido de piano muy logrado...felicidades

  • on 5:37 he missed the key lol, but thats some good music right there.

  • can we connect motif rack xs with yamaha s90xs?

  • @birth1087 And why the HELL would you wanna do that moron?

  • He is the best ones in america today my friend!!!!!.

  • @birth1087 Why would you want to do that if you get the same sounds of the motif on the S90Xs.

  • @ApostolicRick

I DIDNT TRY NEITHER MOTIF NOR S90XS

    THATS WHY I ASKED.....

CAN YOU TELL ME WHICH ONE SERIES IS BETTER S90ES OR S90XS

  • @birth1087 Honestly soundwise I think they are the same. I believe the Xs series has a bit more sounds. I think the S90 es will be harder to find but it should be a cheaper keyboard. The XS has a smaller screen than the ES but what the XS lacks in screen it makes up in controls. Another thing is that the XS has a vocoder, and I am not sure if the ES can do the same things the XS can on performe mode. That is all I can tell you now. My church just bought the S90 Xs and I still have to learn more

  • The amazing thing about this keyboard is that some how its cheaper than the Motif xs8 but has the same soundz.

  • I am so sold on this board. And I haven't even seen part 2 of this demo.

  • Less talk and more demonstration would be great

  • @gilasny same feeling.....

  • These demos are ok but no one seems to go through how to sort out some sounds for live work and save them for stage use.Ive bought the 90XS and he manual is hopeless.

It looks easy when the experts do it but achieving that status is so difficult

  • @chris285285

    Try harder then

  • @BullyBeat

Hi You are right- Ive sorted all I need mow and its great-I think I was too quick making my initial assessment- we have done a 1st gig and received good reviews-Chris

  • @chris285285

    Cool man!

  • wait, is this a synthesizer? I'm VERY new at this, and want to make synthrock. Is this a good sound for that?

  • Awesome piano!

  • I too after owning an S90XS for a few days felt bitterly let down by S6 samples, however, after 5 weeks now and having used it in a stage show and for jazz gigs, it has totally grown on me. I've gone back to play the ES and I gotta tell you I'm not convinced the XS S6 sound sucks anymore. Heaven forbid, but I actually like it.

  • Very nice piano i must add- if you dont mine me asking what is that progression you were playing

  • Is there anybody who tested the different between the piano sound of the yamaha s90xs and the nord stage ex i can`t test the nord at my musicshop greetings from erding by munich

  • @Bluepulli I have and for me yamaha has the better piano

  • Fala p'rá caraio!!!!

  • Pianos sounds are highly subjective. I personally love what I've heard so far. However, when you switch from one sound to the next, while still holding the original sound, what happens? Do you get a smooth transition (as in the Kurzweil PC3x or Roland Fantom G8), or do you get an audible "bump" ? This is a very important question, especially when playing live, and even moreso when you're playing in an intimate setting (like your local jazz club, or church) !

  • Fantastic piano sounds!!!

  • I've never owned a s90 or s70, but I can say this. When I saw Nick Milo (pianist for Joe Cocker) in concert play what I thought was a grand piano on stage- was really a grand piano case with a s90es in the keybed portion of the cabinet. After several piano solo intros and some featured piano segments during the concert, I said, that's awesome to have a grand piano on stage to capture all the nuances that only a grand can do. Was I fooled.

  • is that u bad mister

  • Since I have (respectively HAD, fortunately) this machine myself I've been wondering what's the use of sampling a certain super grand piano (Yamaha S6 in this case) if afterwards it doesn't sound like that at all. I guess Yamaha knows that they failed with this task big time and now try to save their asses by some hollow marketing bubbles.

If they didn't do such a big deal of this piano it might have been kinda acceptable, but it doesn't fulfil the expectations I had.

  • Don't be too hard on the machine man, it sounds better than any keyboard out there right now!!

  • yes, it's a great machine, but it has weak acoustic pianos. wether it was an S6 or an upright piano from grannies living room just doesn't matter. that's all i say. the synth section might be perfect, and it has some nice features. the electric pianos are awesome, too.

this "hey, we've captured a very expensive yamaha S6 grand piano!" in every presentation gets on my nerves. maybe they've captured it, but obviously they forgot to let it out again. :))

  • so do you think the pianos from the Motif's are weak also?

  • I don't know. i only know that the Motif doesn't have the new S6 samples. if the motiv has the same pianos as the S90 ES then the pianos are said to be better. but i've never played an ES, only the XS. so i can't judge it. but I've heard several times that the ES pianos were better than the XS pianos.

my S90 XS is waiting for being picked up by UPS and the next days I will get my Roland RD-700 GX and Synthogy Ivory Grand Piano. This should be a nice piano setup. :)

  • Well the S70XS has more wave rom (piano sounds) than the Motif XS and the ES90. I've played both the S70XS and Roland RD-700GX, they're both good, but I gotta go with the sounds with the S70SX though. But when it comes to touch, the RD-700GX takes it with that sexy ivory feel.

  • Yes, it's a matter of taste, of course. i could imagine lots of application areas where the Yamaha would be much better than the Roland because of the great Motif engine. but as i want to learn to play piano correctly now, also classical stuff, it was important to have a piano that feels very good and sounds good when playing solo. i think for playing in a band or doing midi sequencing stuff all these stage pianos are great.

  • Yes sir!!!

  • That sexy feel won't last long. Just google for 'ivory feel wear' and read all about it!

  • no s90 es is better

  • lol 2:05 ish

    "Very special, very... expensive."

We figured that out on our own, but thanks for your candor;):D

  • Strike that, 2:00 ish

Great sounds and great playing, btw:)
