  • heat + air in a can = going to fix my dent on my car now lol

  • whats the stuff your spraying?

  • muito bom parabens very good

  • What setting do you select on blow dryer; HI heat??? And for how long. And can you use any air compressed can. Does it have to be applied upside down? Thanks.

  • THat is pretty slick...

     28 Year Master Technician

  • do u have to freeze or refrigurate the can to make it cold or just flip it upside down

  • @VVR13FLAKO Having used those things at work, I can tell you that they get pretty cold just from prolonged use.

  • Came by for another view. Your reaction is the best.

  • wao!!

  • what did u sprayed on the paint after using the hot air

  • @bluezamalek its a bottle of compressed air, you can buy them at almost any electronic store, but you need to be 18 in the US

  • SCIENCE!

  • Comment removed

  • @eROCtele Incorrect, that was 2 years ago and the paint finish still looks perfect today.

  • @eROCtele that was just ice.

  • @eROCtele its actually not the paint you see fly off when he sprays the can, its the liquid in the can spraying off of the car...notice how it just disappears when it lands on the bumper. :) that because its the CO2 just melting away.

  • @eROCtele What you see in the end is just frost from the air compressed can. Dumbass lol this won't wreck your paint.

  • i heard about this and have never tested it... good to see it works... =)

  • amazing..

  • HA HA HA YEEEAH!

  • Does this work for small dents too? My stupid friend just put about a dime sized dent in my passenger door about 20 minutes ago. I'm going to make him pay for the damages, and if this will work for a small dent too it'd be much better, considering my other only option is paintless dent repair which will cost him a pretty penny.

  • nice video....thanks

  • i want more videos like this

  • I have seen a professional body shop remove dents by heating the center with a torch then popping a nearby area with a soft mallet. He explained that the heat weakens the center of the dent and the area he hit was slightly elevated. So the weak area popped out. This was a car that was going to need repainting anyway, so don't try the torch method yourself.

I am surprised that a hair dryer would produce enough heat. I didn't know that canned air had enough temperature differential to work.

  • great video...

  • amazing video....

  • amazing

    def gonna try this out

  • how long had you had the dent before you tried the comp air/heater trick?

  • I like how you jumped back in fear then screamed in victory lol

Anyone had luck removing creases with this method?

  • Impressive

  • This is great thank you! I actually fixed a small dent on my pontiac! And hey whether you believe this video or not, what damage could possible come out of doing this?

  • @IncarceratedScars your paint might come off

  • @lankanobi nahhh didn't happen to me

  • okay, so i live in a apartment that has a lot of idiot people. I mean wtf? I just recently bought my Honda Civic 2 weeks ago. . and Now it has 1 scratch and 2 dimples. You think this will work in my car? coz the dents are pretty small. or do you have any Idea how to remove small dents? Thank you!

  • @MRxLAGGER well the best thing to do with a honda civic is get some gas and some matches, Dowse the civic from bumper to bumper in said gas and set the flammable liquid ablaze with said matches. hope this helps :)

  • @codynieman well, thats what I did to your girlfriend.

  • @MRxLAGGER epic comeback fail...

  • @codynieman civics are badass dude like seriously?

  • @hamboneeddie uh no turbo's are bad ass, super chargers are bad ass, all wheel drive is bad ass, 0-60 in less than 6 seconds is bad ass. a civic is none of these things

  • F&G

  • Can you tell if this affected the paint at all? I've got a small dent (1 1/2 nch) in our brand new car, so I'm trying to find something that won't make it worse looking.

  • bullshit

  • And it really doesn't destroy the painting?

  • can i ask how long you were using the hair dryer for??

  • btw. I have a similar dent in my left front fender, but the paint is slightly scratched on the surface, plus it has been there for quite a long time, so I dont have high expectations. I think I will still give it a shot though, just out of curiosity to see if anything happens (which I dont think it will).

if I confirm the worst case scenario, I can live with that and at least people will then have a good negative example of when not to do it.

I will post a video response asap.

  • is it effect on the metal surfaces only? or we can use on anywhere? like plastic surfaces.

  • @saltanat1299 - it usually works on metal only because of its ability to expand and contract very quickly. also, it only works on dents that didnt deform the structure too much, so the metal still has the needed tension to pop back to its original shape. generally speaking, it works best on dents like this (near soft folds or convex/arched areas) and will most likely not work on flat parts of the car (like hail dents on the roof for example). WARNING! paint may come off if damaged or old.

  • Fuck Yea

  • Um the name of the spray is anything with C02 in it. Turn the can upside down and you have the liquid form. This would probably fuck the paint up though. A plundger would have probably taken that dent out.

  • EPIC FUCKING WIN!!!!

  • @amad, its blowoff go to blowoff dot com

  • Can anyone tell me what the name of the spray

  • @amad09100 any canned air. You can easily find them at office supply store for ~$5

  • ドアパンチ跡にも使えるか?

  • GJ!!

  • エアサロは清涼剤みたいなのは入ってるから辞めたほうがいいと思う。

    逆さまにしてるのは・・・ なんだろ・・・

    普通に噴射しても液体ごとでるけどね^^;

  • これってエアサロンパスとかでもできるかな?

  • You sir, are a god among rednecks.

  • @mikafor While he drives a foreign car... haha

  • これは所詮、パクリ。

    最初に考えた人は凄いと思う。

  • great man!!!!

  • hahahahahahahaha!

  • スプレー缶を逆さまにしているのはなぜ?

  • @JoachimKAZ これはエアーが出るスプレーだから

  • oh my god!

    はhhっはyeah!!

  • oh my god!

  • press pause

    press play

    press 7-8-9

  • Mythbusters - get on this.

  • @NineTailsDemonFox They did. Busted.

  • @m4lvolio Busted? ah man. Looks plausible to me but looks like it wouldn't work on really big dings. Small ones sure - and I'm sure It's labor intensive to match what you did in the video. Still, it's pretty amazing what folks come up with on the whim.

  • Press 7 when it's playing

  • hey, you know this video is also on this website? noob. us <-- without the space

  • will this only work for recent dents where the metal has not yet had time to stretch or will it also take out much older dents (i.e. over a year old)?

  • great job, thx for the awesome tip!

  • You should have just drew a ring around it and labled it "Hers!"

  • 0:17-0:19 REPLAYED THAT SO MANY TIMES LMFAO

  • this only works if the shitbox you are driving is made out of plastic.

  • I'd rather have a dent then paint melted/chipped off.

  • @MADDOG6400 What paint chipped off? that was the repellent foaming slightly.

  • @nagaempress Oh.. well.. never mind then! Lol!

  • was that lil jon laughing

  • Too bad the body on my Saturn is fiberglass.

  • It could work but.... Turn on the MYTHBUSTERS beacon

  • お、すげ

  • sure it may pop the dent, but do you have any idea how horrible that spot on his car is going to look in the future ... please dont trust gimmicky shit like this people ... in the best of conditions, it may work, but why even bother, its a car ... if you dont want dents in your car, dont park where people will park next to you

  • this wouldnt work on a car from early 90s and later

  • @n11lc2 This is a Toyota Sienna, which was first manufactured in 98.

  • @Beldar4214 oh you're right, its a toyota. one of the first companies to start using plastic panels

  • That's nice, but u forgot to mention what substance was in that spray canister. Would u mind writing that in the description? And i mean the chemicals in that thing, cuz i might not find that brand of product in my country.

  • @mancamiatipoola The spraycan says "Airduster". That means it is likely to simply be propane or butane gas. Holding it upside down lets the gas (propane) boil at -42 deg. Celcius, direcly on the dent.

  • Cleveland brown?

  • OMG!!!! i go to do it !!!

  • I taught this guy a better way to clean fish. We're even now Timbo!

  • Amazing Trick! But what about the paint? Can be damaged from the quick change of temperature?

  • @ardenthash Bullshit.

  • @ardenthash Are you serious?!?? You think I got that kind of time???

  • @timothybohen

    lol

  • @ardenthash physics dude, read lectrick's comment to sped05 in the highest rated comment...

  • @ardenthash ...You're an idiot, princess.

  • @dabluedude, that is the tailgate on a Sienna mini van. So plain sheet metal. Age, not sure, but under a couple weeks. Not sure if age really matters though, its more the shape and style of the dent that matters.

  • was this on regular sheetmetal or some other body piece? how old was the dent. Do you think it would work on old dents as well?

  • Every once in awhile a film comes along that changes everything. This is that film. This is timothybohen's moment. Watch out Oscar. Casablanca. Gone With the Wind. The Godfather. Forrest Gump. This is DentRepair. Two thumbs way up.

  • @gulfboy I appreciate the nomination!! :)

  • 3 people who pressed the dislike button tried this but failed.

  • @shotojojo2005 Stop making shitty comments like this.

  • I have a huge dent in my head. Will this technique work on a deformed skull?

  • 3 people don't have access to a blow dryer/compressed air

  • Mythbusters need to do this.

  • @Osmfaec not anymore they don't, confirmed.

  • Not bad

  • 3 who did this wrong or who hate car repair.

  • "...believe it"

  • YEAAA

  • how the hell are you using a blow dryer outside?

  • @misteri0s0 extension cables..

  • @misteri0s0 There's an electrical socket in the tree, dumbass. What do you think?

  • HAW HAW HAW HAW YYYYYYEEEEEAAAHHH

  • Tom Arnold?

  • You are just Blowing Cold Air

  • VICTORY

  • HA HA HA HA HA.....YEEEAHH!! eheh! heh! hehehehehh~

  • Cool! To think I used to huff that stuff!

note to kids - don't huff that stuff.

  • SCIENCE!!

  • Hey Sharon!

  • Comment removed

  • pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff...

    HA!HA! HA! HA! HA! YEEEEA!

  • I work at an Auto Body shop. DO NOT do this on plastic, and be VERY careful with that heat gun! A hair dryer will NOT get hot enough for this to work, you need an actual heat gun. Anything more serious than what was posted in this video and you're either going to have to use real tools or see an actual shop.

  • @suckithardnfast

what do you do to fix a plastic one?

  • Does this ruin the paint due to the heat and then cold?

  • @91lu Your really need the ideal setup for it to work, my dent was just perfect I think.

  • why didint this work for me :(

  • It doesn't work on a lot of dents, but hey most people really have nothing really to lose but maybe 5minutes so why not try it? :P

  • hahahahaha...YEAH!

  • what is that spray called? what is it usually used for and where can i buy it. i live in sydney australia n i need to fix a dent on my dads car! im confused because some videos say its an air duster but it seems like it sprays ice ???? ive never seen spray like that in my life

  • @SPED05 its air duster/canned air.

  • @SPED05 you hold the air duster upside down and it sprays "ice"

  • @SPED05 its air duster the only reason it sprays ice is because all that gas is all presured inside the can and if u put it up side down The pressure inside the can therefore drop and is no longer sufficient to keep the contents as a liquid so some of the liquid boils until the equilibrium pressure is re-established. The vaporization of a liquid is endothermic thus, heat is absorbed, and the can becomes cold.

  • @SPED05 Notice he's holding it upside down. That forces the propellant out first (the "ice" you see). The propellant undergoes rapid expansion when it hits the air and that supercools it (you can actually frostbite your skin, be careful). By heating the metal and then rapidly cooling it in this fashion he caused the metal to contract (metal expands and contracts in response to temperature changes) which made the metal pull itself out.

  • @lectrick Came here to say this. Upvote!!

  • @lectrick adiabatic cooling FTW.

  • @SPED05 if you hold th duster cans upside down, it blows out the cool compressed liquid inside...hence if u spray it normally for a long period of time the can gets pretty cold

  • @SPED05 It's usually used for dusting, you can use it to dust out machinery or other things. But when you turn it upside down the chemical that propels the air is shot out with the air. It is pretty dangerous and freezes on contact so it really is kind of like spraying ice.

  • @SPED05 it is compressed air, you can buy it at almost any place that sells computer parts or anything similar, just turn it upside down and spray to get the ice, there is liquid nitrogen keeping the air compressed inside.

  • @SPED05 IF you tip canned air upside down it emits a liquid.

  • @SPED05 you can buy it from officeworks and heaps of computer stores and other retailers. It's been around for a decade.

  • @SPED05 go to an electronics shop.

  • @SPED05 hahah dude, you just shake and hold upside-down and tada! magic ice spray

  • @SPED05 When you turn an air duster upside down and spray it it sprays the air out in liquified form and it's very cold.

  • its just an air duster sold for dusting of keyboards and stuff like that, its definitely sold at staples, office max, but could be sold in other stores as well.

it sprays air right-side up, and shoots cold icy stuff (i think its CO2) when you hold and pray it upside-down. i know know how this works but its fun to mess with.

it gives easy frost bite too

  • @SPED05 It's a compressed air canister that's been turned upside down. these canisters contain Nitrogen and it seems the reaction of jumping from hot to cold so fast is what caused the dent to fix itself.

  • @SPED05 You have to hold it upside down so it comes out as a liquid. As the liquid evaporates it gets extremely cold.

  • this does NOT work, i tried it many times on my car ... don't waste your time !

  • @asifineededaname Do you think I used special effects in that video? :) It does work but you have to have the perfect setup. A small gentle bubble dent, it is by no means a miracle cure!

  • Hey there. Someone hit my car today and left a dent...

How long do you expose the metal to hot air and where exactly do you concentrate the CO2? I've read that you're supposed to apply it to the edges to ensure the metal pulls away ... but I'm not sure.

  • I did a minute with the heat. Then I sprayed the canned air right in the middle, not sure if that was correct but it worked. Maybe I just got lucky?

  • I have dents in my plastic bumper - do you know if this will work? I've only seen this technique used on metal.
