  • how to get channels from local cable operator using this atsc/qam tv box, since they are not digital channels

  • Listen you clown pounder... since the drop of analog TV signals two years ago ATSC signals have got stronger. Perhaps if you weren't 12 years old you remember that. I wrote my comments before the conversion. When I wrote the comment you were lucky to get one HD channel with the built-in tuner in the Houston area. Up in Canada you'd need a mountain of antenna on your roof to get a clean ATSC signal.

  • i gonna buy it

  • This guy is a clown... he refers to the DVI version as HDMI... plus he makes you think that it's easy to get HD for free... how about this clown mentions that you need a pretty potent antenna to pick up ATSC... I hate these reviews. This is what creates an uninformed consumer. I wonder who sponsored this crap? Must be K-World

  • @illusion8055 LOL...so true. They just want to con people into buying this junk.

  • @illusion8055

I don't know what you mean, because I can easily grab 22 channels (Miami, FL) with a cheap ($17.99) antenna I got from Monoprice. Several of those channels are HD (1080i). That's using the tuner inside my Tv.

Also, DVI and HDMI are identical up to 1.2 spec. Even some ATI/AMD video cards support audio via DVI/HDMI adapters. 1.3 and onward is what added the extra features that separate them.

I don't see what the problem is. I think YOU are actually making sound harder than it is.

  • @illusion8055 someone cant use technology

  • @illusion8055 It really depends on where you live. I have a homemade antenna (coat hangers on a board) that picks up the local ATSC broadcasts perfectly, and it is easy as f. And ok, he does say HDMI, but that is because the DVI version IS the HDMI version, it comes with the DVI to HDMI converter in box. That's because DVI is digital while VGA IS NOT. So yes, if you did want to use HDMI with this box you would get the DVI version.

  • One Question ::

Would i be able to record game play from my ps3 ?

Like i see the component "IN" but if i split the component cables with 5 "Y" splitters and use the USB port to hook up to my computer and download a program to record ??

  • I have two ps3 and i changed the harddrive from the 160gb to the 60gb but now i want to change it back and its not letting me

  • I wish the video had demonstration..

I have Dish Network and a standard television with no DVI input...Wondering if I can connect Dish Network and watch it on my LCD PC Monitor with this one...

My internal TV Tuner card doesn't work, so I am desperately looking for a way to watch Dish Network channels on my LCD Monitor..

  • hmmm...

well the dish box will only hook up to it with the coax connection, and atm.......thats only SDTV im sorry to say.

but yeah, if your dish box transmitted a clear QAM output signal, then the box would be able to get it in HD.

Does your monitor have a DVI input??

  • yes i have DVI-D Input...

  • then get an HDMI to DVI adapter

  • it has a vga version and also has the compentent and composite output as well

  • got one i dont recommend it for a 30" though. it is 1080i not 1080p still recommend it for 20" 24" 26". could be better, but i couldnt find anything as good

  • Albert and Bauer both rule:

Albert is a gamer and pc enthusiast (like myself) but Bauer is like father who has learned about technology in last few years (that's why he always reads from the paper)...

  • maybe he reads the paper to keep him on track of what to say next.

  • yea, maybe

  • review some video cards or some mobos...

  • there arent any new video cards...

  • Motherboards, CPUs, mice, keyboards, gaming cases, headsets, sound cards, CPU coolers, VGA coolers, watercooling kits...

Gaming hardware isn't just videocards, and there's been a lot of new gaming stuff out recently, especially in cooling, CPUs, and motherboards.
