No its not. The Soviet Union funded the Viet Cong to use guerrilla warfare against the south Vietnamese which ultimately provoked the US to war. What the communist did was simply shot people them selves who simply didn't agree with them. If you cant decipher between the two then you truly are a dumb mutherfucker.

@DerBlitzStag Try to contemplate the 120 million people killed by communists in peace time either directly as part of terror or as so-called "political enemies" (but political enemy in the communist term is somebody who tries to improve a situation by criticizing or even only questioning the party bureaucrats) or as a consequence of the idiotic policies of planned economy that created vast famines where it wasn't necessary at all (i.e. where no natural cause existed).

I don't think we need to feel particularly guilty or ashamed for liking these cartoons or even recognizing that they portray the truth to a large degree. If the propaganda was about how great the Communist Party is and how Comrade Stalin is leading us to a glorious future then I would view it as worthless crap. But the cartoonists were not the elite, they believed in the moral ideals of socialism. In fact, I bet the Soviet elite were huge fans of jazz and secretly dreamed of being millionaires.

Shooting range is a beautiful film that I can't help but love in spite of it being soviet propaganda. It contains some legit criticism of the west and makes me wonder what would have resulted if these creative geniuses had been allowed to train their guns on what they felt was wrong with soviet society as well.

@SovietUnion100 as for gorbachev etc, i guess stalin's death was the end of the conscious and serious marxist line of governing and after that warm-chaired partocracy ruled, producing and adoring the respective burocracy mechanism. while so called planned economy needs someone to actually plan it)) instead of planting corn, talking shit and wearing tonns of medals. some of the socialist goles were somehow achived though.
