damn how did i get back on his bullshit.. and stop cursing damn it.. lol.. real tawk.. pimp.. i cant stand to hear you make as many mistakes as you did. now i dnt want reasons any more.. for sale sighn on it..
DId you play the drum part using your midi controller or through your mouse? If you do so through your mouse, how do you do it with your midi controller?
Bro you should be watching tutorials not making them. Im not trying to be an ass for real but you obviously have not actually taken and courses or training for Reason and you may wanna check into it. There is a reason that they actually give a degree in producing with Reason at Berklee, its MASSIVE. But there are so many things your doing ass backwards and making it so much tougher on yourself. Your obviously musically inclined, do yourself a favor and go download AskVideo's Reason DVD. Torrent.
But, when I record, it starts over so the song overwrite what I just recorded... am I doing something wrong? Or I just gotta click the stop record before it overwrite my notes? Or I simply gotta take off loop when I record? Idk... >.<
@XrisSmiles nah bro im not trying to be an asshole but im geting all these hits i gotta promote my music!!! i'm an artist first, i want to help yall and everything but i don't think it takes away from the video, i reccomend you watch this video with reason open on your computer so you can follow along. thanks
he said you should but you dont have to. it helps if you want to edit one sound with an effect or something later, so you can affect only one sound like a snare or kick, not your whole kit
each sound is still editable, by rewiring your setup so each "sample" wires to its own mixer track. and dont just use the output unit for the entire unit.
How did you start with a blank redrum template, whenever i open it it starts with the disco patch, do you know how to set it to a default, empty setting?
uncheck "load default sound in new devices" i explained that in part one. i know how it feels when your redrum loads up a bunch of sounds and you dont know how to get rid of it
i would like to know if without using the usb keyboard it will be hard to get a perfect timing nd syncro while using reason. because i tried to do some nd i dnt get the perfect timing nd syncro as when u guys use the keyboard
The timing will never be 100% perfect if you use the keyboard, but you can correct it by using the 'quantize' option. If you don't have a keyboard you can just place the notes manually using the grid.
this dude is hilarious... yeah it'll take me months of youtube browsing to be able to use reason at its fullest, this tutorial is sweet, uncovered a lot of basic stuff that would be pissin me off.
Also when i play keys, there's pretty good lag, and it fucks me up, is there anyway i can play around wit the settings to reduce keyboard lag or will i just have to upgrade from stock sound card?
i actually think that may be your computer because reason usually can run fine off stock sound cards. check with your manufacturer to see if u need to update the drivers that may be it. usually you can just download them off the website and install them its pretty simple.
if not that then upgrade your processor/memory. if your trying to get into pro tools recording/mixing and all that stuff your gonna need at least a pentium dual core with 2 gb ram.
yeah thats exactly what i have for a computer, i mean reason is running fine and everything is cool, just when i hit a key it takes like 3 quarters of a second for it to register, some computer dude suggested me to upgrade sound cards or something but im juss worried it wont do anything...
that sounds like a latency problem actually, if you go into preferences in reason and click on latency and bring it down as low as you can get it, mine is 12ms which seems perfect
if i wanted to go to school for this type of sruff what would be my feild of study?...and any recommendations on what school?..im from p.g county maryland
i just took a few classes at community college because this community college out here has a good audio program. Probobly the best audio program at a community college in California.
Learning the programs like reason and pro tools can be done by just someone showing you though. school will always help i learned a lot of shit at school i would have never learned. some things school cant teach you though. i dont know what schools are out there in maryland though.
shit i pretty much taught myself but my mom used to make me take piano lessons when i was a kid - never thought they would be useful for anything i guess i was wrong.
See, thats dope right there, I got Reason 4 (Burned Copy) and it uninstalled itself from my computer, do you know why it done this? And get this, my CD burner clonked out on me so I cant even reinstall the program...
instruments aren't low quality in reason - have you watched the whole vid? (pt 3)
there you can see what it sounds like once its mixed down this was recorded through a camcorder off the audio coming out of $20 dollar computer speakers so of course its gonna sound low quality lol.
I mean i can't say reason strings are gonna sound like motif strings or nothing but you can make realistic sounding stuff with the "combinator" they got some nice string patches in there you will be suprised.
no I think your recorder is just fine, but Ive also tried reason ma self so, it was little bit difficult and many cool effects too but, what i was looking for was the quality of the instruments. you should try cubase and see if you already didnt, so clear and nice sounds you hear almost as good as rolland e80. anyway cool. i'll watch part 3. tnx for taking your time ;)
From what i see you are in no position to judge the sound quality of this tutorial. Reason 4 is one of the best sequencers/sampler/virtualstudios in the market. Cubase is great but reason is much more fun to use. You CAN also rewire reason into cubase.. but reason sounds better than most vsti's.
if u hit pre, u dont have to start recording at the end of the loop ...
