t first person i saw, that i knew when i moved to montreal from vancouver was the owner of the sugar refinery. amazing venue, saw julie doiron there as well as this show. the julie show was so intimate, it made me cry.

sugar refinery was a little upstairs gallery/speakeasy on granville street in vancouver. not purpose built as a venue by any means but a great place to see a show, and there were many.

Finally found it! My Canadian friend gave me a tape back in the day with this song on it....Always loved the sound of this group! What's the name of the song that has the phrase something like "another trucker stumbled up steps to my kiosk for directions"? Thanks from Kansas!
