i noticed this bright star in dec 2011 iam in manchester uk it was in southwest at first thought it was jupiter but i spotted jupiter in the south over the past few months its now 02/03/2012 and jupiter is now just above this bright thing in the sky in the south west and this thing is brighter an hasnt moved much in terms of position still in southwest

its venus, it hasnt just turned up its allways been there, its just brighter due to its orbital position relative to earth, the diamond shape is the shape of the shutter on your camera, you see it because you are zoomed way beyond its focal length.
It's most likely Venus, sometimes it's so bright it can be seen at midday, if it's never high in the sky and always sets a few hours after the sun, it most definantly is Venus.

It is Nibiru - the tenth planet. We have been watching it and it is most definitely a planet. It shows in daytime and at night and moves fairly quickly across sky. I live in SW Wales. It is in the South looking out of back window of house. People should start paying attention and opening their eyes. It will not collide with the earth - it hasn't the times it has passed before. But we need to be made aware!
There is no Nibiru we would notice the gravitational effects of it way before we could see it. you guys have to stop with that stuff, people like this guy really buy it because they don't understand astronomy. @245akolmane My kids and I have seen this strange star at night for the last 3 nights in the western sky. it appears as bright golden or yellow and flickering like a star. Staying in one place in the sky for over 30 min to 1hour. Then branches of light expand outward very quickly. Then after a while it just takes off.moving east at a good pace. Here in Greece, everynight for months, we have interesting viewing in the sky. From sunset in the East you can see a bright star, which is Jupiter. Early morning in the North East you can see another bright star, which is Venus. Also you can see another strange bright star flashing on & off in the West, it's white & reddish. I've got no idea what that is. It's strange, all these bright stars in the sky at the same time. Are they planets or something else? Really, it's an awesome sight.
Is this star rise from east at night? Just about 45 degrees up. It rises at the same exact time, moves around the night sky same direction for almost for about a year. I heard this star has 7 planets roaming around if you look at it with telescope. Telescopes are darn expensive now a days. I'm saving up to buy one soon. I'm gonna have to check it up myself.
I've seen the same thing in finland, about 160km from helsinki. There's supposed to be Venus, the Northern Star but it the 3rd one....?? I have no idea what this about...Stars BLINK, so it's it's not star.
