  • ..... What the hell am I listening to? I'm... I'm just gonna take Japanese in college...

  • This is dumb I understand what they are saying because I took Japanese classes but this will not teach you a language in ten days there is all the vocab to learn there are better audio programs then this.

  • @Happyhardcore17 this isnt actually it. when starting off the progam they actually teach you what this stuff means, how to use it, pronounce it and is actually pretty useful. in this video its just all the example sentences put together which yes is dumb. but trust me the program is pretty good

  • @GreenPearlNatalee and @PaperFireFighter same here too

  • I Feel Like they are saying random stuff because put of know where around 3:10 i hear a Moshi Moshi, lol

  • @GreenPearlNatalee same here

  • all i know is thank u, good morning, okay, good morning and I, i have a start at least

  • So I noticed they say, ikura desu ka then reply with genki desu....that is NOT right...

  • i got about half of this convo but only because I watch subbed anime alot

  • I can understand 90% of the conversation, but I think it's only because I'm studying Japanese on my own... I don't know if it really works, but I'm happy that I can understand at the speed they're going.

  • OMG, i can understand them! even though i speak no japanese

  • I must say since I was referred another link to this program's video, I realize the vocab IS taught and actually rubbed in pretty hard ( I was mislead, thinking the whole program was like this video lol ) but after repeating words, than pieces of a phrase, than a whole phrase, then given time to respond to the other speaker, and checking that response, this literally forces you to think in Japanese. So I now believe this is the best way to learn a language. I'm going to order this program.

  • Thank you so much! This is awesome! I'd love it if I could find some from Unit 2 and 3 as well! But thank you for uploading, domo arigatou :) <3 xx

  • oh god, this is my first time listening and i understood more than 80% of what they said. all that training worked out XD i feel pro.

  • how is sum1 supposed to know what any of this conversation means? they could be talking about pink elephants having sex with midgets, and just bc u learn how to say all of it, there's no indication of what they're talking about. I'm guessing u're expected to know vocab first, yet the ad for this program failed to admit that. In fact they claim it teaches u to just put it together. Problem is, there's other important steps to learning a language. Hearing is right, but what about visualization?

  • @CockslamUrBhole dude, I understand this fluenty, it just comes to you as they say. I didn't have to do any vocab to understand that. Try the sample, it's somewhere on youtube with the tittle "Japanese Speaking Lesson 1 Part 1" and an anime girl thumb nail. It won't let me put up the link

  • @CockslamUrBhole the program takes you through the phrases step by step x: including the vocab

  • @CockslamUrBhole Watch anothier video (: this stuff works amazingly

  • @CockslamUrBhole It's the best way to learn a language, honestly. I spent half a year in Hong Kong without any prior knowledge of Cantonese, and I can now speak it pretty well because I was basically FORCED to learn it. Saying something like your comment is like asking, "how does a blind person learn to speak?"

  • I understand maybe 3-4 words, Yes, No, Hello, and Thank you, I think when they finish the sentence with deska its a question.

  • @HansLowell No, that means the sentence was formal.

  • @HansLowell desuka. You need to learn basic vocabulary first I suppose then figure things out via context clue?

  • Am I the only one who understands NOTHING!!! I'm seeing all these comments about how amazingly awesome it is but it is helping ZIP!!!

  • I only speak a little Japanese but thank god i think I could translate 90% of what they were saying I feel a little more confident.. How am I gonna buy a Kenmari skyline if i cant speak japanese!

  • Anyway thanks for uploading :D

  • This seems quite amazing, however not on itself. It seems this + some other form (vocab lists, textbook, etc.) would be really fast. If there was video with this, it would be perfect, but even though the voice acting is good, it is hard to hear some of the faster words and seems impossible for people who are complete beginners at japanese to figure out what means what.

  • I am glad this worked for you with Japanese. Now take it for English and you're all set. :)

  • @MasonC2K pimsleur is only for spoken, it's not for written. if whoever made this video learned English as a second language using this, although the grammar is off, I'd say they did pretty well :p

  • I need to know three things. I need to know because I will be moving to Japan for two years soon. I belive knowing some Japanese will make my transition easier.

Does the pimsluer method really work? How does it work? and does it teach enough of the language to communicate with natives effectively?

  • @guyinhead Yes, I would reccomend it. It works, by teaching you how to speak the language before you start to write since that is most peoples biggest concern. Everybody learned how to speak first then read and write. It helps you pronounce words better and it will make you feel more confident in your communication. It'll get you on a fast track to becoming more fluent, youll understand the structure of the language and therefore you will be able to form your own sentences naturally

  • @guyinhead The only problem with pimsleur is that you need a separate grammar book, because pimsleur Japanese doesn't teach you grammar to make your own sentences.

  • 0.o oh my god, I understand this almost as fast as english...Pimsleur is such a great program. I still remember all this stuff, and I haven't used pimsleur in two years. sugoi ne~!

  • @amusicalmonk Hey since you have taken Pimsleur, i have all 90 of the pimsleur audio lessons, and i was wondering? does it let you understand Anime which is in casual Japanese even though Pimsleur is taught in formal?

  • this is cool im just starting pimsleur and hopely after im done ill be able to understand this alot better.

  • nice :)

  • thanks for the upload! :D
