When paintballs are frozen they actually become more brittle, they jellotin on the outside of the shell actually weakens and the water and food coloring slightly exspand but dont freeze due to properties of food coloring and they just jam your gun and break. PS smart people dont buy 98's they buy BOB LONGS!!!!!

@McFaddenCovers NO!, the A5 and 98 have similar internals, but the differences are the powertube valve has a tumbstone componet and the 98 has a direct powertube. The a5 also have a back plate that removes with 2 pins and the 98 doesnt and the pistol grip houses the sear and trigger system and the 98s sear and trigger system is housed in the body and not removable trust me im a tippmann certified gun tech. but im not sure how your comment answered mine oh well!!

freezing paint makes it more brittle, pros refrigerate their paint not freeze but refrigerate their paint to make it more brittle so it breaks a little bit easier but freezing does not make paint more hard, but it kind of increases the viscosity of the paint inside the ball just temporarily.

i've tried it with new paintbals before. frozen paintballs are nothing special. warm paintballs don't break very well. if you're playing paintball on a hot summer day, try to keep extras in a cooler to keep it out of the heat.

Freezing a paintball makes it more brittle. When the shell is frozen it brakes more easily, the fill tends not to freeze because of it being so oily. Deadly rockhard frozen paintballs are a myth. Of course this is true with real paint, if you buy paint from wal mart then it doesn't apply, just cause walmart paint is just so dangerous right out of the box.
