underrated? don't exaggerate plz. they are not any pop band to gather 80 thousand people. everytime i saw them playing gig the area was totally seated - in europe and other parts of the world. they invented post-rock back in the 90's and became a huge influence for hundreds of postrock bands that never couldn't have beaten them.

Actually, if anyone invented post-rock, it would more likely be Slint, back in 1991, with Spiderland. David Pajo of Slint joined Tortoise for a while.

@Joris85 If you ask me, a band by the name of "Talk Talk" invented post rock in the late eighties. Check out either Laughing Stock or Spirit of Eden if you haven't given them a listen yet. Those are two of their best albums.
