  • COULD YOU PLEASE LEARN HOW TO POINT YOUR CAMERA!?

  • Cool project!

  • delete video and save the world some time. Time wasted: wievs:258 323 runtime 52 sec 258 323 * 52= 13 432 796 seconds 13 423 796 / 60= 223879,9333333333 minutes 223879,9333333333/ 60 = 3731,332222222222 hours 3731,332222222222 / 24 = 155,4721759259259 days (155,4721759259259/365) * 12= 5,111414003044139 months. Fuck you man
  • home built at high prices that halve adze works. cant think of any thing to make yourself?

  • Huge sale! 4 days only. DIY solar panel kit $99. PV frames $39. Make your own solar panels and find all your diy solar products at solar-deals(.)com.

  • title sucked . missleading

  • If your interested in solar stuff then take a peek at the models for sale on my channel..

  • Just remove the misleading video so someone else can make a truthful one.

  • wat a piece of shit!!!!!! anyone pls remove this shit away, wasting time!

  • These things irritate the shit out of me.

You should preface vids like this with the word Toy.

  • You can more volt from a solar coin. Put a penny on the unit of a stove and put the stove unit on medium heat. When the penny starts to turn black turn off the stove unit. If the penny starts to flake a layer you applied to much heat. I made a 12 volt penny cell by placing 6 pennies in series. With clear tape, tape a single strand of copper wire to on side and to the edge of the penny or pennies and place them in a light source. each penny should give about 2.4 volts dc maximum. have fun!

  • @phreakonacell Ever measured the current output of similar DIY cell?

  • maybe if you spent less money on this crap, you could buy a better camera! lol

    ...jk guys

  • @Doomsday704

    Lol!!

  • very clever!

  • you only get half of the power you could get, cuz the window filters the uv.

  • i think i saw this in make magazine actually...copycat!

  • where to find these cells???

    plz...

  • ebay

  • Where can You Buy these? send me a link Please!!!

  • how did you make the pv cells? also, what is that wafer thing called? and how many volts and amps is this thing putting out?

  • LOL. Why is the video sideways?

  • because some ppl think that recording video sigeways will give more view or they think that it is easy for us to flip our monitors sideways lol

  • Whoopy do! I'd rather see you melt down some silicon and make the things yourself!

  • WTF dude!!

  • What are you, a mime?

  • wtf??!!

Thx for the high school project~

  • This is NOT a DIY solar cell!!!

This is a bunch of broken cells strung together. Commercial places sell these damaged cells for cheap.

  • where are some that i can get i cant find any...

    (e-bay is anoying)

like how much would it be around per broken cell?

  • A cent? When you buy the broken ones they are in all sizes. Put it this way, you can buy 0.40 pounds of them for $10.

  • well how many did you get for $10 then?

i am going to make my own panels for something i'm making and if i get that to work i'm moving up higher!!!

  • 0.4 pounds... Depends, you may (actually will NOT) get ONE 0.4 punds solar cell. Or you may (Also NOT) get 0.4 pounds of solar cell powder. You get a mixture of broken peices. Most of them are able to be used in a solar panel, but not all of them.

  • so what was your voltage under load

  • Is the LED really nessasary?

  • Hey dumbasses, he has an instructable link in the description.

  • what does this video do?? it really doesnt help much...

  • your holding your camera wrong and i cant hear you... wait you were not talking but no matter i can read your mind 2*

  • ok i'm not going to be mean.

watch a cooking show. you know how they are so enthused and everyone likes it? even if you don't like cooking? it's the presentation

    1. have several steps premade

    2. have a script premade

    3. go through the steps and tell us where you got everything and how we can get it.

    4. if you sound like a dweeb, get a good looking friend to do the video for you

  • pointing out shitty videoes is what people seem to be doing rather then giving up the info, cough it up we are all planeteers and we need the information

  • Why aren't you talking about your contraption in the video? it would help make it more interesting I think.

  • Hmm, no info on how it is made or what it is doing. All I see is one tiny LED being lit by it.

  • It would have been great if you gave mre info about your system.

    Great video.

    Thank you

  • Nice, I would use it to charge a battery or a high capacity capacitor (super cap) to use for something useful. cool

  • hahaha 2,3 v and 2,4 mA, thats like 5 mW it'll take quite a while to charge a battery

  • VERY enemic offering without materials, instruction and output details.

  • MAn trying is what makes big an shareing it on you tube comenting makes bigger

  • what a load of shit, it doesn't even show how 2 make 1

  • I'm thinking old AOL cd's instead of mylar :)

  • You would get better comments if you changed the title. What you have is a "makeshift solar collector demonstration" not a "DIY solar cell" which tends to suggest you are making them from scratch. Also, if you put DIY in the title you should show how you soldered them together, polarity, where you got them, etc.

  • awesome but i thought solar cell isnt efficent enough? oh well good job anyway

  • skytron, your ignorance is astounding. Now there are 30% efficient cells that get the job done quite well...also you could have a 5% efficient cell with a reflector to multiply the sun's rays and as long as you get a 6x reflector dish they are equivalent

  • Awesome, Good job!

  • next someone on youtube will post how to make a DIY car from broken car pieces...

what a waste of my time.

  • Awesome!! I'm thinking about building a small one set also.

  • some narration would be good unless your a mute sorry

  • Now , How To Remove My Neck Pain

  • Tilt much?

  • ahh my neck..

  • Click on the "More Info" link in the "About This Video" section to go to the Instructables for this project. It goes into a lot more detail, including info on how to get the broken solar cell pieces. The end product is actually quite artistic, although I'd probably do a flat design because it looks like his 3d design has lots of cells not receiving light. I hope he does a video/instructables on how he did the 'art that charges'.

  • how you make it?

  • He is just using broken pieces of solar panels. The front in the negative the back is the positive. It is acually quite easy. Go to radio shack and pick up a small solar panel .5VDC 275ma for about 5 bucks. It is fun to try. However that LED that he's powering would take about six of those Radio Shack panels to make the necessary 3VDC.
