I invented a breakthrough source of energy, which contradicts the law of conservation of energy. I have a PROOF that there are electrodynamic phenomena which contradict the law of energy conservation. It will cost about $1200 to make a 6 kW generator in mass production. Value of the energy produced yearly about $5400. I am looking for $300 000 for a prototype and for $3M for patents.

Everyone's talking about the solar deal that's going on @ Solar-Deals(.)com. 3 x 6 Evergreen Solar Cells for $0.70 per watt. Starting at $149.99! It's better then on ebay and cheaper!
The special deal is limited and only 30 days left! Just thought, I'd let you know.
You can more volt from a solar coin. Put a penny on the unit of a stove and put the stove unit on medium heat. When the penny starts to turn black turn off the stove unit. If the penny starts to flake a layer you applied to much heat. I made a 12 volt penny cell by placing 6 pennies in series. With clear tape, tape a single strand of copper wire to on side and to the edge of the penny or pennies and place them in a light source. each penny should give about 2.4 volts dc maximum. have fun!

I just got 50 pcs of 5" x 5" KPE monocrystalline solar cells for $169! Beauitful full size solar cells. Offer is going on until Sunday, July 12th, 2009.
0.4 pounds... Depends, you may (actually will NOT) get ONE 0.4 punds solar cell. Or you may (Also NOT) get 0.4 pounds of solar cell powder. You get a mixture of broken peices. Most of them are able to be used in a solar panel, but not all of them.
pointing out shitty videoes is what people seem to be doing rather then giving up the info, cough it up we are all planeteers and we need the information
You would get better comments if you changed the title. What you have is a "makeshift solar collector demonstration" not a "DIY solar cell" which tends to suggest you are making them from scratch. Also, if you put DIY in the title you should show how you soldered them together, polarity, where you got them, etc.
skytron, your ignorance is astounding. Now there are 30% efficient cells that get the job done quite well...also you could have a 5% efficient cell with a reflector to multiply the sun's rays and as long as you get a 6x reflector dish they are equivalent
Click on the "More Info" link in the "About This Video" section to go to the Instructables for this project. It goes into a lot more detail, including info on how to get the broken solar cell pieces. The end product is actually quite artistic, although I'd probably do a flat design because it looks like his 3d design has lots of cells not receiving light. I hope he does a video/instructables on how he did the 'art that charges'.
He is just using broken pieces of solar panels. The front in the negative the back is the positive. It is acually quite easy. Go to radio shack and pick up a small solar panel .5VDC 275ma for about 5 bucks. It is fun to try. However that LED that he's powering would take about six of those Radio Shack panels to make the necessary 3VDC.
COULD YOU PLEASE LEARN HOW TO POINT YOUR CAMERA!?

sounds hard right?
but it is actually as simple as 1..2..3..!!
but you need the guide before you can do it as simple as i do...

This is a bunch of broken cells strung together. Commercial places sell these damaged cells for cheap.

where are some that i can get i cant find any...
(e-bay is anoying)
like how much would it be around per broken cell?
YellowBelt319 3 years ago
A cent? When you buy the broken ones they are in all sizes. Put it this way, you can buy 0.40 pounds of them for $10.
Microman171 3 years ago
well how many did you get for $10 then?
i am going to make my own panels for something i'm making and if i get that to work i'm moving up higher!!!
