  • You have saved me a HUGE headache! I had started a granny square blanket but stopped because I didn't want to deal with the hassle of joining. I found this video via a comment on Facebook and wanted to very enthusiastically THANK YOU for posting this! I'm very excited to try it!

  • I've seen this on crocheted blankets before, but didn't know how it was done. Thank you so much for making this tut to show how!! It's very pretty & lacey looking. I just love it! I'm currently working on a granny square baby blanket & wished I would have seen this before I started. I'm definately keeping this in mind for next time :)

  • I'm pretty sure I just heard some Harry Potter music in the background 3:30 - 3:40 ! Thanks for teaching this, it just might be the join I choose for my baby afghan I am currently making...though I might have to be more careful in making my squares the same size, since they all used different patterns. It is the 2010 Crochet Block-a-Month CAL on Ravelry That I am doing. Thanks again!

  • @goodsyd Yep we are Harry Potter fan family ,lol. How did your blanket turn out?

  • Wonderfully easy to follow instructions! I was wondering how to make the center corners looks so clean -- now I know! Thanks!

  • THIS is the video I've been looking for!! I have put two afghans together using this method, but in this you show how to make those perfect corners joins that are so professional. Thanks!! Yes, guy who crochets here :-)

  • I've always loved Priscilla Hewitt's Flat Braid Joining, but I kept getting stuck on this last step, joining two sides.

Your instructions makes things very clear -- I look forward to using this method!

Thank you for taking time to walk us through this joining method!

  • I ended up doing three double crochets in each loop with one chain in between each for a border. It makes it look kind of ruffly and gives it a little more thickness and stability. Thanks again for doing these great tutorials! I am a self taught crocheter and have had to rely on tricky books in the past. I'm not the best pattern reader so watching you do it really helps! I'm going to try the ripple stitch next! Thanks again!

  • I started doing mine it looks ok for the first time, wish it would look at little better though.

  • I made granny squares for a blanket for my daughter (due in October!!) and I was looking for an attractive flat way to join them without sewing and absolutely LOVE this! It is so pretty! The border it makes looks great, but is just a little too delicate I think, for what I need. I was just wondering annemkell: Can you add another border around the entire piece once its all put together?? I guess I could just experiment to see if I like anything, I was just curious if you had any tips?

I don''t see why you couldn't add another border to it once you have put it all together. I put a 3 layer border around a blanket that i made with this joining technique. Just find some borders you like and mix em up ;)

Thank you so much!! I don't see why you couldn't add another border once you have finished the joining. I actually added a 3 layer border to a blanket I made with this joining technique. Just pick some borders you like and mix em up ;)

  • This is great! Love it. Thank you for taking the time to post your videos.

  • THANK YOU!! This video is so easy to follow and yields beautiful results. I will never use any other method to join squares. Thank you for recording these awesome videos!

  • You are FANTASTIC! I have been trying to find an easy and attractive way to join squares for the longest time! Either it was difficult to understand or just didn't look nice. Your method looks really lovely and is very easy to do so I will be adopting this method from now on. Your teaching method is perfect - you made it very easy to understand. I'll be on the lookout for more of your instructional videos. Thanks heaps!

  • @freedom4bb

Thank you so much!!! I hope to make more videos in the near future. My camera died a year ago and haven't had the money to get a new one ,but sales are picking up so I am hopeful :)

  • You are both very welcome!

I have had some question about how to join more than 4 squares. I am sorry for not addressing it in the videos.

You will first join your sqaures to make one strip the length you would like your first row to be. Then start your next row by connecting a square to the bottom of your far right sqaure and the keep adding your squares from right to left.

Hope this clears things up a bit.

  • I want to thank you for sharing your videos with us. I love this way of attaching squares but I am not clear on how to add additional squares. Do you make 4 more and adjoin them to make your desired length or do you add the squares one at a time? If at all possible, can you do a short video to clarify? I am a visual person in need of visual aid! LOL thank you so much for your time.

  • thank you so much for doing this series. I am crocheting an afghan for my grandmother and needed a was to connect the squares. This is so far the best way and the way i like the best. Thanks a ton.

  • What a wonderful series of videos. It makes it so clear how to do this.
