  • Don't you get it?

Without Steve Pixar wouldn't have born. Lassater is a delicacy. Steve it a silver bowl to hold it.

  • Wow, Charlie Rose is such a prick to Lasseter and Jobs.

  • This is very clearly not Charlie Rose's finest hour.

    He is painfully unprepared.

  • Charlie Rose to Steve Jobs at 18.25 "you know something about the computer business too".

Eh, no SH*T sherlock! Its STEVE - F'n - JOBS!!!!

    HE INVENTED THE COMPUTER BUSINESS!!!

Like saying Henry Ford might know something about cars.

  • I bet throughout the whole interview, Jobs must have been thinking about, "My god, this guy is an IDIOT" (referring to Charlie Rose). XD

  • miss you Steve and "death is greatest invention of life", it's just so true, Steve. Switch on and switch off, life done & mission complete.(no hell or heaven)

  • @ehtaone No heaven no hell or hope. :(

  • SJ is soooo down-to-earth!

  • "You're a guy who founds hi-tech companies and tries to make another billion."

I don't think Rose really understands where these two men are coming from.

  • @greypalm Does anyone who isn't like them, or doesn't do what they do for a living really understand what it is they do? I would say no.

  • At this point Jobs was in the "where are they now?' file & no one had any idea what a John Lasseter was. Charlie Rose was the most important talk show for intelligent adults on television (this was before the internet as we know it). Just to put this in perspective. I'm sure both of his guests were happy for the air time.

  • reading the Steve Jobs biography right now and watching every interview with him on YouTube ;) you have to read it!

  • Steve Jobs doesnt normally suffer fools. Surprised he didnt get up and walk out on Rose

  • Comment removed

  • Fuck this interviewer

  • What an ass of an interviewer.

  • I think that Rose was just intimidated by them I mean if you were interviewing such brilliant people wouldn't you feel stupid?

  • charlie rose is usually not this bad

  • kuka vittu on Charlie Rose?

  • the interviewer should be ashamed of himself

  • I cant believe Rose used to be an idiot shit

  • @cheatdath used to be?

  • 9:00 lasster is thinking what a ridiculously broad question

  • 8:25 jobs is pissed at the interrupting

  • Interviewer is very irritating.

  • the worst interviewed show ever.

  • A lot of you commenters are mistaking "grilling" for "being a dick"

It's a way of getting interesting answers out of people. If you just fawn over people and tell them how much you love their work you'll never get that person to really dig deep to answer questions.

  • I like Charlie Rose, but in this interview he is a total dick

  • Could Charlie Rose be anymore of a pompous asshole? It's like watching two scientists trying to explain evolution to a christian.

  • Did the interviewer get paid??

  • is funny to watch Rose trying to undestand this two visionaries, is a little bit lost :)

again great how steve saw potencial in this team and bet on it.

  • I think it's funny that Charlie Rose is so wrapped up in trying to figure out why Steve Jobs got involved in this, and clearly has no idea that the person on his other side is about to become one of the most important figures in the entertainment industry for the next decade.

  • @MronoC I think he can't understand why someone he sees as a businessman would be so interested in something artistic and creative. It's a shame that disparity is seen so much today - obviously jobs was an exception and was totally blown away by what he saw in Pixar.

  • Hahaha Charlie Rose really doesn't really understand what they're talking about. I like their commitment to story.

  • Epic! Love you Charlie! Great interview! Not many people can stand up to Steve Jobs and ask the hard questions! RIP Steve!

  • in my opinion Lasseter is unsympathetic

  • I like how Charlie tries to write Pixar off as a plain animation studio which is just using 'a different paintbrush'.

Revolutionaries in storytelling, and leader of the computer generated film industry from '95 to date, there is no other studio like Pixar.

And Steve Jobs was responsible for its creation.

He has left us and generations to come with creative and beautiful stories, through which his spirit will live on. RIP.

  • that interviewer is a total dick

  • I watched this last night and found this interview most fascinating and truly insightful in so many ways!♥

  • RIP John Lasseter

  • @MoldytoasterMedia lol what?

  • Steve jobs looks healthy here. RIP.

  • Lol at the fact that nobody knows who Charlie Rose is.

  • How rude is the interviewer

  • RIP Steven Jobs <3

  • Best line " I tend to stay where I am until somebody kicks me out " to apple .. lol

Years later made it what this company stands on today .. This guy was out of this world ..

Rip Steve we appreciate everything u have done, thank u for ur dedication and undoubtedly genius vision but must of all for ur simplicity and humility

  • RIP, Steve Jobs. Love him or hate him, you can't deny this man has achieved something monumental in his field. It's hard to imagine what I would do with my creative passions without his products. I thank you, sir.

  • You can just feel Steve Job's agony @ 18:32. It's like he knows, the child he created is going to die, and there's nothing he can do about it. Knowing that if he somehow came back, he could resurrect the great ship known as Apple Computers. Look what ended up happening, the story of a lifetime.

  • F#ckin interviewer is a major d!ck! That's John FREAKIN Lasseter and STEVE JOBS he's talkin' to!

  • 17:36

Snow White was released in 1937, not 1928. Hopefully by now Stevie Boy knows this, since he IS after all on the Board of Directors at Disney.

  • charlie rose is a dick hands down!

  • I hate to write this kind comment on Youtube, but Charlie Rose was a dick...

  • Charlie Rose is the interviewer, is still around, does a great interview, and interviews the finest minds in the world. That said of the 30 interviews I've seen this is one of his worst. Fun to see Jobs in this portion of his life. His reason for being was Apple and the world is better off because he was able to come back.

  • No wonder Steve Jobs doesn't do many interviews, with interviewers like this!!

  • 2:10 nice sound xD

  • The interviewer sounds like he would even eat Steve Jobs' poo if he said so.

  • yes the interviewer is such an idiot, biggest tool in the universe

  • When was this interview done? this is a great historical document

  • @jariburi

"TOY STORY" WAS RELEASED IN THE YEAR NINETEEN NINETYFIVE AND THE HOST SAID "TOY STORY MADE HISTORY LAST YEAR", SO THIS "INTERVIEW VIDEO" WAS ORIGINALLY AIRED IN THE YEAR NINETEEN NINETYSIX. YOU NEED TO BE MORE OBSERVANT.

  • @ReiK0Z Nice to know! They invented small caps letters sometime during mideval times.

  • Great upload. There's so little out there with Jobs talking about Pixar.

  • @jakeharvey Steve was just the investor. He shouldn't even be in this interview, imo. He was thinking of selling Pixar as late at 1994. It's a good thing he didn't take too much credit but he did use his position at Pixar as leverage when he was negotiating Apple's buyout of Next.

  • SCREW this interviewer >:(

  • @ahmedhow lmao you're a tool.

  • @ahmedhow Agreed, he's a dick.

  • @ahmedhow I thought he was fine; his questions were honest and respectful, and he listened to the answers. How would you have done it differently?
