Ya, I'm bad for not showing the strumming in my videos.
The best thing I can suggest is to watch the beginning of part 1, where I play the song once. You can see my strumming hand, but it's not slowed down and not very clear.
I love your videos. No bullcrap attitude, and spot-on instruction. The Let It Ride introduction is gentlemanly and professional. Quite exemplary, sir. Let's play it.
Until you really listen and then learn(well, struggle) you don't realize just how rich and necessary the unusual chords make this song-then the elegant simplicity of the lead work does not overshadow.
100% agreed, and very well said, 3jet3. Randy Bachman is an underrated guitarist because he's not a 'flashy' player. Like BB King, he can move mountains with just a few notes.
Great lesson on a great song. Thanks for posting it!

what kind of strings are you using? 0.10 or 0.09
'cause i'm using the 0.10 strings and I cant get the vibrato (or whatever it's called in English) right

Back then, I was using 10-46. I've since switched to 9-46. Things like fretboard radius and fret height can affect vibrato.
I've been told that I have a heavy vibrato. There's no right or wrong, just play whatever comes naturally to you.

I'm 63 years old-have owned a Lucille since the very early 90's-I have been immersed in the blues since the mid 60's. The BB comparison is eerie.
