@witbred Fossil fuels are needed to extract the hydrogen from the compounds as hydrogen can not be found on its own.

If electric vehicles take off people wont need to buy fuel from the middle east,and they wont need to replace worn-out engine parts that regularly wear out in petrol engines until eventually it becomes cheaper to buy yet another new car (Ford grins). Ford and co are terrified of full-size EVs becoming available cos EVs need only and minimal maintenance (sorry Ford) and cheap electricity (sorry Islam). This car is Ford desperate to hook a new generation of fuel-buying engine-repairing drivers.
