  • That guile needs to go home and be a family man.

  • Respect 4 Yoshiwo man. I tried 2 play with Guile vs Sagat a few times and its a hell of a job getting him dead.

  • It makes me sad to see Guile lose in almost every tournament match. He's one of my all time faves since the original SF2. And I'm sure I speak for a lot of people when I say there are too many Fagat and Ryu whores. Yes, it's "Tier Whoring"....what else can you call it?

  • 4:02 - he could link ultra into it

  • I noticed all the Guile-haters are scrubs. And Peetar is right, Guile doesn't have anything to counter cross-ups. You'll notice a lot of people don't dare doing cross-ups against certain characters. But whenever facing Guile, they like to spam cross-ups to throws or just keep doing the cross-ups.

  • Damn, some pretty impressive spacing/zoning with that Guile. I learned a lot watching him.

I main Guile, but even I have to admit that he's pretty bad. One of the reasons is cause he has NOTHING to fight cross ups. Kaqn gets like a free cross up into throw every knockdown.

  • Nothing to counter cross ups? How about block it and give him a free combo afterwards or dash out? Or did you mean jump ins? Airthrow anyone?

I don't see why Guile should have problems countering cross ups or jump ins.

  • There is also st. hp to counter almost every air attack...please explain, why do you think Guile has problems with cross ups and/or jump ins?

...and I forgot Quick Recovery...allows you to avoid cross ups.

  • Honestly, when you're getting crossed up on wake-up, your only option is to block. Most cross ups will stuff your FK and none of your other anti-airs will come out fast enough to beat the cross up. Then you're forced to guess between the whole high/low/throw mix-up because you're stuck in block stun after blocking the cross up.

People jumping in and crossing up when you're standing isn't a problem. However, when you're knocked down, it's pretty much a free cross up.

  • Okay, you're right. Only way to avoid this would be Quick Recovery I guess...but it doesn't work after a throw.

  • Neutral jump airthrow is good at punishing predicatable crossup attempts. And throws are really easy to break in SFIV. If they attack and they pause, just mash throw, and there goes your throw tech. Guile is bad in this game, but he's solid. You just need to know all of his tools at the right time.

  • I doubt you could do better than this guy, I'll be looking forward to seeing some vids that show off your skill. Most likely lack of skills truth be told.

  • Yeah guile does suck. He sucks so hard. I hate him.
