I have this rifle, and it's killer. I one-shot a rabbit last night with it. the Crosman .177 Caliber Air Rifle is probably the best air rifle you can get. 1200 feet per second. just amazing! and very good target sightings!

@Pathofnowhere Dryfiring is shooting without a projectile in the reciever. Basicly it is cutting loose all the power of the mainspring with nothing for it to push against. If a spring has an expected service life of ten thousand shots, each dry firing might use up a hundred shots worth of wear and tear. Not as bad as dry shooting a bow (ie with no arrow on the string) which can break a bow almost at once. Still, do not do it, if it can be helped.

Just bought a Phantom air rifle this evening. I haven't shot it yet. Replacing a rifle that was burned in a house fire, but it's all good. I bought a 4x32 scope to go along with it. The model with the wooden stock came with a scope, but at 140 bx, I got the composite stock at 80 bx and pur a 32 dollar scope on it. I feel I'll get the same results with spend less money.

@asdsdfdf1 INSTRUCTIONS FOR A RIGHTY: With your right hand holding the gun just behind the trigger guard, put the butt of the rifle on your front thigh (where your leg meets your hip)reach up with your left hand to the very top of the barrel and tug it down fully untill it locks, load the pellet in carefully and close the chamber. You should be able to switch easily from shooting position to loading postion without taking your right hand off the gun. Hope this helped!

@lastmanstanding91 I bought this gun for that exact purpose. I slapped a cheap gamo scope on it for like 30 bucks and use crosman hollowpoints. My gun is dead on accurate, much to the dismay of those pesky ground hogs. A good shot to the head or body is an instant kill.

@Bezemkast33 Most of my shooting is done between 10 to a max of about 25 yards to take care of groundhogs and rabbits. I haven't shot the gun much further than 30ish, But I hit a nickel sized bullseye nearly everytime with it. Had to break in gun around 200 shots or so to really get it consistent. I just switched to crossman destroyer pellets, they seem to fit this gun well and are good for hunting varmit. dial in ur scope at 45 yards or so and it will be a consistent/powerful shot with this gun

I want to buy a super powerful BB/Pellet gun that shoots at least 1,000 FPS and that has enough power to go through at least 1 inch think piece of strong wood. I don't know if they make something like that without needing a licence. Also, does FPS mean how strong it shoots? like will it go through more stuff? Cuz I had a 380 FPS pistol and it shot great, but then I got this 400 FPS MP5K and it shoots less hard, both CO2 guns.

@GARTV101 there are co2 rifles out there that you can fire quickly plus this is a brake barrel gun so you pull the barrel down, slide a pellet in, and pull the barrel up. plus if you can't fire a .22 in the place you live its nice to have an air rifle

I installed a Leapers scope 6 - 24 x 50 and can wack at 50 yards an 8 inch target.

Go to a local range, its cheap and you can sight in your scope.

For squirrel or rabbit hunting try sighting in at about 30 feet or 15 yards.

Then adjust for close or further shooting. It takes out rabbit and squirrel

with one head shot.
