Little bit of back story to this dunk: Maryland's big forward, Ben Coleman, had been throwing his weight around and playing an extremely physical game. At one point, as he and Matt Doherty were running downcourt trying to get position, he gave Doherty a quick slap to the face. Jordan saw this. That's why he screamed at Coleman after baptizing him.
0:15 in-human footwork, change of rhythm and acceleration. Sooooooo unexpected move! He does not need all that hundred dribbles and fakes to lose defender. NATURALLY GIFTED!
you sum it up perfectly. he is naturally gifted in every aspect of the game, at least it can be dated back to his pre-pro college games. large hard dribbles and crazy legs splits/strides and still keep the balance and control, can do it with both hands with almost equal speed starting with left or right foot. it is totally unmatched by anyone ever in the history of bball.
Back then college basketball was interesting...

Damn, was that Len Bias on the right at the end? He was my other ACC favorite during the Jordan UNC era...

just natural fast foot speed. fast stop starts to fake the defender out. no fancy dribbling required.
