I served two tours in Iraq and I never saw a reason to visit either of those sites. I used the internet for e-mailing and video conferencing with loved ones, other than that there is no point in consuming the limited bandwidth we have over there to fuck around watching videos. It's slow enough as is, think dial-up speed.
there is no broadband in afghanistan or iraq. they have to use satellite and it is terrilbe. when there are problems around sometimes that does down. So does the phone. They understand this. Also i dont know about everywhere but my soldier has not problem with viewing those sites. And he uses it to talk to his future wofe *ahem* and hopefully not so many myspace cleavage shots haha ineresting vid. i almost flippe in the first 15 seconds haha

Well. I served 17 years active duty U.S. Army. I do admit that the war in Iraq was lost from day one. But being in the Army was the best thing that ever happened to me. The travels, ladies from numerous countries and states, and of course protecting our interests was all worthwhile. what kept me sane was seeing it as an adventure. Though I don't agree with some issues - I did my time - try it before you knock it. Be thankful that it is NOT mandatory to serve. FREEDOM ISN'T FREE. Be well

I appreciate the sympathy and am all for giving service members all that you can. But in reality these sites are only being blocked from workspace computers.
Any service member can go and get access from their barracks or berthing out of their own pocket anytime they want. Also, most bases accommodate the members with access at the various rec centers.
And if the O-6 running the place isn't corrupt and pocketing the earnings, it's most likely free.

I served two tours in Iraq and I never saw a reason to visit either of those sites. I used the internet for e-mailing and video conferencing with loved ones, other than that there is no point in consuming the limited bandwidth we have over there to fuck around watching videos. It's slow enough as is, think dial-up speed.

there is no broadband in afghanistan or iraq. they have to use satellite and it is terrilbe. when there are problems around sometimes that does down. So does the phone. They understand this. Also i dont know about everywhere but my soldier has not problem with viewing those sites. And he uses it to talk to his future wofe *ahem* and hopefully not so many myspace cleavage shots haha ineresting vid. i almost flippe in the first 15 seconds haha

Well. I served 17 years active duty U.S. Army. I do admit that the war in Iraq was lost from day one. But being in the Army was the best thing that ever happened to me. The travels, ladies from numerous countries and states, and of course protecting our interests was all worthwhile. what kept me sane was seeing it as an adventure. Though I don't agree with some issues - I did my time - try it before you knock it. Be thankful that it is NOT mandatory to serve. FREEDOM ISN'T FREE. Be well

thanks. the international estimate of dead in iraq hovers between 600,000 and 800,000, and millions displaced. was it neccessary for those people to die and loose their homes, even though iraq had done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to us? i respect our troops when they are serving and protecting us. in this case they are not. if we are a nation of the will of the people and 78% of the people want the war to end but the government won't, what does that mean? who are they serving?

The war is what is wrong, the soldiers are saving your ass, volunteering, just so you don't have to. What I Mean is, if people didn't put themselves out there, then you would be forced to, which you're not obviously. None the less, the war itself is irresponsible. So maybe in some small strange way you should be thanking them as well.
