  • I remember when first heard this I was 6 years old... As I said I my facebook share... If you got a dream go for it and do not ever let anyone push you around. You make the decisions and "Watch Out" for the rest of them... You half to believe in yourself to make this happen for you.

  • Nick Martinelli,God Bless these Italian beats.

  • Good old days

  • This Has Always Been A Number 1 Hit

  • love this song

  • yea but Melodymaker, don't you just love her jaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzy vocals all THE WAY through that THUMPIN BASSLINE. WHOOOOOOOOOOOAH. She got that GROOOOOOOOOOOOVE.

  • wicked 81

  • Man do I love this song. Takes me back to watching my friend's parents clown to this. What fun times. There is actually an extended mix where the talking she does is not there and the synths are WAY up in the mix. That is so hot! Brandi is missed.

  • wicked tune takes me right back

  • great track and superb quality, digitised but bass still has vinyl sound/feel

  • I'm surprised no one has sampled this great groove yet. It has such a great feel to it..

  • OMG, not again!! Just read about her sad passing-away. R.I.P. sista, just keep in mind that usually the very best have to leave this planet at young age! (e. g. Ron Banks, @58, Laura Branigan, @46).

  • thanks for posting! I discovered this song on a French guy's pirate compilation called "Scarface Funky" (Track 5), disguised as "Sean Paul".

(For the others that do not know these kinds of habits: it's a common thing - or better a disease - in the French funk scene to hog songs but keeping artists/titles a mystery.)

  • @pianoman74 And its not as its even obscure i think it was even a minor pop hit in the UK in 1981 and massive dance hit in America and the UK

  • @ancientraver19881989

What a fantastic album!! 3 tracks from it got serious airplay on UK soul shows and pirate stations circa, late '81 and 1982: Fantasy, What Goes Around, and this one. Good times.

  • could any one tell me if brandi and terri wells are cousins i believe they are but i am not to sure i think they both are from philly. Classis song

  • Yes - we loved this song so much we named my God Daughter after Brandi !!

  • GREAT POST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If you listen carefully,it has a similar riff from On The Beat by the BBQ Band.

  • Nick Martinelli!!! The sound that made Loose Ends is all over this cut!!! Wow!

  • Good ear!! I'll cosign that!!!!!

  • @mustmint

Carl MacIntosh had something to do with that Loose Ends sound too.

  • Seven Minutes Thirty Seconds of utter class!

  • nick martinelli mixed it !!! one of the best soung engineers of this era

  • Ich liebe diesen Song seit 28 Jahren. Meine erste Aufnahme war bei AFN Berlin. Sowas vergisst Du nicht. Diese Leichtigkeit des Titels. Mein absoluter Favorit. Steve Kastelac würde mir recht geben.

  • As Katt Williams can say it "THATS MY SHIT" BOY THAT WAS THE JAM BACK IN THE DAY AND STILL IS.....

  • This was the first album I played when I was tall enough to reach the record player

  • dédicasse a ramero du 69

    funkateer56

  • I am back in Philly!!!!

WBLS in New York worked this record! Frankie Crocker RULES!

  • roof at 6th & 14th westside nyc... makin' out to Fantasy ...on BLS ... also cheri "murphy's law"

  • This is one of my all-time favorites. Great for sampling. Figures Nick Martinelli would have his midas touch on this also. Brandi Wells has a great voice, but the "scat" set this joint off.

  • Brandi Wells is a talent that never really got a chance to shine and will truly be missed by the people that knew of her. I remember this single when it first came out in the summer of 1981. It still sounds good as it did 27 years ago.

  • Brandi is truly missed! I ordered her CD and it is worth what I paid for to get. She was a beautiful lady with talent!

  • Check Her Out as the lead singer

of the group SLICK singing one of my favorites

SUNRISE (1980)lovingly posted here on YOUTUBE.

  • I love this song. She was beautiful and had a beautiful voice to boot!

  • I was a DJ in Philadelphia and happenned to stumble across Brandi as one of my friend's next door neighbor on Spruce street in Philadelphia. I told her I was a DJ and she invited us both in. That was the first time I ever heard "Watch Out" I fell in love with it immeadiately and when it was released I played it to death! A very talented lady and a real person to boot!

    She was a real sweetheart!

    Brandi we miss you!

  • Brandi Wells may have lived in Philly for a minute, but she is from Chester, Pa.

  • Brandi passed away a few years ago, died of cancer I believe. I was also a fan of 21st Century Fox.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I wonder what ever happened to her. She could really sing. She had a song out called, "What goes around comes around" Can you post that or anything by her that you may have. What a real treat.
