I remember when first heard this I was 6 years old... As I said I my facebook share... If you got a dream go for it and do not ever let anyone push you around. You make the decisions and "Watch Out" for the rest of them... You half to believe in yourself to make this happen for you.
yea but Melodymaker, don't you just love her jaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzy vocals all THE WAY through that THUMPIN BASSLINE. WHOOOOOOOOOOOAH. She got that GROOOOOOOOOOOOVE.
Man do I love this song. Takes me back to watching my friend's parents clown to this. What fun times. There is actually an extended mix where the talking she does is not there and the synths are WAY up in the mix. That is so hot! Brandi is missed.

OMG, not again!! Just read about her sad passing-away. R.I.P. sista, just keep in mind that usually the very best have to leave this planet at young age! (e. g. Ron Banks, @58, Laura Branigan, @46).
thanks for posting! I discovered this song on a French guy's pirate compilation called "Scarface Funky" (Track 5), disguised as "Sean Paul".
(For the others that do not know these kinds of habits: it's a common thing - or better a disease - in the French funk scene to hog songs but keeping artists/titles a mystery.)
What a fantastic album!! 3 tracks from it got serious airplay on UK soul shows and pirate stations circa, late '81 and 1982: Fantasy, What Goes Around, and this one. Good times.
Great to hear from the New Yorkers and they use to jam to this. Because here in South London it was the bomb. Great sounds out of StateSide. Big up New York City.
PreHOUSE! DA BOMB!!! Ummm! Many parts of this song is so good, U can taste it!!! lol!! Rare and standing there with WHY LEAVE US ALONE! 4those who KNOW! If ya don´t know, better ask SOMEBODY!! WATCH OUT!!!! BRANDI! RIP! FRANKIE CROCKER!! RIP!! ALL LUV, ALL DA TIMEZ!!!
Ich liebe diesen Song seit 28 Jahren. Meine erste Aufnahme war bei AFN Berlin. Sowas vergisst Du nicht. Diese Leichtigkeit des Titels. Mein absoluter Favorit. Steve Kastelac würde mir recht geben.
This is one of my all-time favorites. Great for sampling. Figures Nick Martinelli would have his midas touch on this also. Brandi Wells has a great voice, but the "scat" set this joint off.
Brandi Wells is a talent that never really got a chance to shine and will truly be missed by the people that knew of her. I remember this single when it first came out in the summer of 1981. It still sounds good as it did 27 years ago.
I was a DJ in Philadelphia and happenned to stumble across Brandi as one of my friend's next door neighbor on Spruce street in Philadelphia. I told her I was a DJ and she invited us both in. That was the first time I ever heard "Watch Out" I fell in love with it immeadiately and when it was released I played it to death! A very talented lady and a real person to boot!
Thank you so much for posting this. I wonder what ever happened to her. She could really sing. She had a song out called, "What goes around comes around" Can you post that or anything by her that you may have. What a real treat.

@pianoman74 And its not as its even obscure i think it was even a minor pop hit in the UK in 1981 and massive dance hit in America and the UK
