i had turbonetics and sold it for vortech, and yes the sound will be gone and entirely different...pure sex with charger and plenty of power when done right to make up for a little less torque
car looks great man, I have been wanting a vortech but disappointed in the torque. At the same time I dont want to loose that Z sound to a turbo setup. Are you happy with the power?
well technically a supercharger wont make as much torque as a turbo charger which is kinda the main reason people go Turbo.
The vortech i believe is a centrifugal blower so the power curve your getting would be like driving a well breathing V8 monster. U wont get that spike of boost pull like the roots blowers give, but you have more top end. If racing is what u wanna do go turbo for DD monster that races sometimes go S/C!
well that question is kinda too broad to make sense of it. The price of a turbo kit or S/c vary on the cars model and kits brand. Unless we live with the people getting the S/C or T/C kits we really dont know what they are using them for. 90% of the time people choose S/C over turbos be it for racing or for show seems to be that they THINK is much safer and reliable than a turbo. Choosing a s/c or turbo is solely subjective it doesnt make one better or worse if its you who choose it.
As far as cheap or expensive it just depends on the angle u approach boosting ur car. For example u can go to a 350z forums and u will find countless used s/c kits going for $2500-3500 as well as turbo kits (price might be higher). Thing is regardless on how good the reputation of the kit is, you are still getting it used so theres still a chance something might not work properly. In the end sometimes is just better to buy a boosted car from factory =p.
