This is due to the difference in the combination of gear spacing and final drive ratios as well as the drivetrain efficiency. This are the factors that make MS3 to outperform other cars that trap 103~105 mph. Look I'm already teaching you stuff. You don't know jack about gearing and don't know shit about cars. Stock ms3 is nearly as fast as hr350z.

Dani01c, you dumb ass, get in your car, put it in 1st gear and launch at 1/4 of the throttle on the gas and shift at say 4000 rpm. Keep the gas pedal at 1/4 way till you get to the 3rd gear. And then use FULL throttle and shift at max rpm to the quarter mile mark. See what trap speed you get, dumb ass... You will NOT get the same number of trap speed as if you launched with full throttle and at max rpm. You are so dumb that we can't even have a proper conversation. You are like way down there.

With an intake mod the power stays up better and bump up to nearly 6000 rpm. 2nd gen stock is good for 5800 rpm and with an intake it'll go 6000+ rpm without losing power. You don't let it rev up 7000 rpm on ms3 to get max power you dumb ass. The car is designed to operate at lower rpms and that is where all the power is available. A Z looks sporty where the MS3 looks like a grandma car to the untrained eye. I like MS3's and they have way better aftermarket possibility than the Z's sine they are FI from the factory but throw on a S/C or TT kit on that Z and you will find MS3's will be lacking. Aftermarket is endless and should not be compared in "what if" scenarios.

Guys, the IS350 is a faster car. I ran against one in the interstate from a light and I beat it by over 3 car lengths. I also ran against a 335i sedan and beat that one too by a car length. You can't just go by horsepower and weight of the car. The IS350 has closer gear ratios and has more low-end torque. It gets the full torque at only 4800 rpm. With the VSC and traction off and launch it at just 1000 rpm I get 4.7 seconds in the 0-60. Type in the search box "IS350 4.72" Part I and II.
I think the guy is saying "holy shit" because he's surprised at how well the Z is keeping up. Btw, I think that's an older 287hp Z, since those don't look like LED tails.
Anyway, both are nice, and that's a crazy close race.

You can buy a supercharger kit that gives you 50 more HP and the car has an 11.3 compression ratio, and if anyone of you don't know jack shit about engines and compression ratio's let's just say that engines with over 11 compression ratio suck for boosting and cars like the z with a 10.2 compression ratio are better for boosting. Look it up if you don't believe me. Higher compression ratio could equal blown motor.
There's not enough evidence to prove this yet. Very difficult to find boosted HR's. Those are just numbers on paper. Moot point though since I think even 400whp with the old DE was enough.
There are quite a few members on the forums running boosted HR motors, and they have all reported the same thing: it's stronger than the DE. But yeah, you're right, 400whp is more than enough.

Comes down to the weight, that's it. The IS350 is already heavier than the 350z without any passengers in either car and this one had a passenger in the IS350.
The headers, intake and exhaust might have added 20 horsepower to this 2004 350z which means it went from 289 HP to 306 HP and pretty much weighed 400 pounds lighter than the IS 350 so this was inevitable and obvious. A Stock Hr 350Z COMES STOCK with 306 HP that's the 2007+ year model 350z and that would definately beat a stock IS 350 it has the same horsepower stock and weighs 200 pounds lighter.

This is due to the difference in the combination of gear spacing and final drive ratios as well as the drivetrain efficiency. This are the factors that make MS3 to outperform other cars that trap 103~105 mph. Look I'm already teaching you stuff. You don't know jack about gearing and don't know shit about cars. Stock ms3 is nearly as fast as hr350z.

Dani01c, you dumb ass, get in your car, put it in 1st gear and launch at 1/4 of the throttle on the gas and shift at say 4000 rpm. Keep the gas pedal at 1/4 way till you get to the 3rd gear. And then use FULL throttle and shift at max rpm to the quarter mile mark. See what trap speed you get, dumb ass... You will NOT get the same number of trap speed as if you launched with full throttle and at max rpm. You are so dumb that we can't even have a proper conversation. You are like way down there.

With an intake mod the power stays up better and bump up to nearly 6000 rpm. 2nd gen stock is good for 5800 rpm and with an intake it'll go 6000+ rpm without losing power. You don't let it rev up 7000 rpm on ms3 to get max power you dumb ass. The car is designed to operate at lower rpms and that is where all the power is available. @shkc70 check my350z forums retard. HR owners have logged 13.0X 100% bone stock and traping higher than MS3's stock for stock. Also the MS3 looks like a wagon. A Z looks sporty where the MS3 looks like a grandma car to the untrained eye. I like MS3's and they have way better aftermarket possibility than the Z's sine they are FI from the factory but throw on a S/C or TT kit on that Z and you will find MS3's will be lacking. Aftermarket is endless and should not be compared in "what if" scenarios.

is350 vs 350z is a good match up due to same size engines and similar release dates. 370z is a lot newer car than the is350 and also has a larger displacement and therefore would not be a fair race.

thaz a stock 350z probably a hr theres no way that shyt is modded it sounds like a little girl. the hr 350z would walk a is350 like it was nothin maybe the is 350 would get quicker 0-60 and launches cuz of the all wheel drive but by the end of the quarter mile it would get walkd like it was nothin. problem is most 350z are the old model with 289 hp they aent the new hr ones with 306 hp the hr 350z is 306 hp and 3300 pounds the is 350 is 306 hp with 3500 pounds and no manual use ure common sence?

Toyota really pushed the V6 in the IS350. It has the torque of the old VQ35DE and the HP of the new VQ35HR combined.

That would be because of direct injection. If the VQ35HR had direct injection, it would more even more impressive. Probably 320hp and at least 280lb-ft.

Guys, the IS350 is a faster car. I ran against one in the interstate from a light and I beat it by over 3 car lengths. I also ran against a 335i sedan and beat that one too by a car length. You can't just go by horsepower and weight of the car. The IS350 has closer gear ratios and has more low-end torque. It gets the full torque at only 4800 rpm. With the VSC and traction off and launch it at just 1000 rpm I get 4.7 seconds in the 0-60. Type in the search box "IS350 4.72" Part I and II.

i would love to have em both XD but i like the is350 becuz its fast and GREAT TRACTION!!! better than the 350z but the 350z has special unique things too like it has 6 speed manual but the is350 only has sport shift but for a sport shift its ****PRETTY FAST****

id rather have the z. Yeah the IS350 is nice but you can't do shit to them. You can buy a supercharger kit that gives you 50 more HP and the car has an 11.3 compression ratio, and if anyone of you don't know jack shit about engines and compression ratio's let's just say that engines with over 11 compression ratio suck for boosting and cars like the z with a 10.2 compression ratio are better for boosting. Look it up if you don't believe me. Higher compression ratio could equal blown motor.

Better than the IS350, but not good in general. The 350z can only hold about 8PSI and then the rods become an issue.

There's not enough evidence to prove this yet. Very difficult to find boosted HR's. Those are just numbers on paper. Moot point though since I think even 400whp with the old DE was enough.

There are quite a few members on the forums running boosted HR motors, and they have all reported the same thing: it's stronger than the DE. But yeah, you're right, 400whp is more than enough.

04MaxSE, did you turn off VSC and Traction Control on your IS350? you sound kind of n00b.. Something tells me you didn't use up full power out of the IS350. I own an '08 IS350 and know how hard this thing pulls.
Also you don't know for sure exact what mods the 350z has on it.

I don't know how much gas was in either of the cars but i do know that when they ran at the track, they were both getting similar timings...
this race was couple months ago so im pretty sure the tire pressure has been changed

Comes down to the weight, that's it. The IS350 is already heavier than the 350z without any passengers in either car and this one had a passenger in the IS350.

The headers, intake and exhaust might have added 20 horsepower to this 2004 350z which means it went from 289 HP to 306 HP and pretty much weighed 400 pounds lighter than the IS 350 so this was inevitable and obvious. A Stock Hr 350Z COMES STOCK with 306 HP that's the 2007+ year model 350z and that would definately beat a stock IS 350 it has the same horsepower stock and weighs 200 pounds lighter.
