Thanks, I think its cool to bring race into boxing since that's what many fighters fight for when in the ring but when the media brings all this drama between groups the sport loses its true meaning I believe.

It's great that the Filipino Boxers from Americas past are getting some shine now. I never knew about these guys till only about a year ago. It's also interesting how the Filipinos influenced and changed the boxing style since the Americans came to the Philippines.

yeah. mexico got 120 world champions because they got lots of fighters. in every streets in mexico city there are lots of boxing gyms. boxing is a way of life in many mexicans. If boxing in the Philippines is as famous as boxing in mexico and philippines has the same numbers of fighters as mexican fighters, I bet Philippines will have more champions than mexico. maybe thousands...

Some Filipinos will get cocky, cause we don't have or a lot of Filipinos who are seen in the American media, these are one of those few moments where Filipinos have someone they can relate and look up to. It's even more rare with other asian groups who don't get any representation like this.
