  • a small group of people are saying this version isnt that great, thumbs up if you think its the best!

  • As usual, Kurt Russell adds his usual Snake Plisskin-esque growl to every line. Turned a western into Escape from Tombstone.

  • whys everyone saying Val Kilmers performance is "oscar" worthy? His redneck accent is shit

  • Did Val shoot three shots from that double-barreled shotgun?

  • @NCWC2 I think it was a replay from an alternate angle.

  • @winzerous

Hm, I never noticed that. Makes sense, actually.

  • @NCWC2 Yep, that's hollywood for ya

  • @NCWC2 Of course he did, he was using the infinite ammo cheat

  • What's with the random burning building in the background around @2:00?

  • @jliller i dont know for sure but maybe its to make the scene more badass

  • Val Kilmer is the man! end of story

  • I want Sam Elliot's tash!

  • I was watching Wyatt Earp earlier and that film has nothing on this. Kilmer as Doc Holliday is unmatched

  • This is the only film in hollywood history who showed the real old west people’s moustaches.

  • what the fuck? the actual gunfight didn't take place right at the O.K. Corral but actually happened behind an empty lot of the corral as shown in "Wyatt Earp" seriously why do people think this movie is better? its inaccurate on so many levels

  • @antitroll890 three words: val freaking kilmer.

  • Great stuff! Everyone notices the 3 shots from Docs 2 barrel . But look at the window breaking routine at 5 mins. Every film has its mistakes and i think they do it deliberately to keep us you tubers on our toes :)

  • anyone else think Val Kilmer looks like Johnny Depp?

  • Sam Elliot's moustache is amazing

  • I'm not a fan of Westerns, but for some reason I can't help but love this film.

  • 4:33 Its so badass that Wyatt Earp said this in real life.

  • you won the standoff...... flawless victory

  • gotta love how at 3:30 Doc throws his cape off and the Cowboys freak out

  • Anyone else love how, after Ike starts firing like a coward from inside and Wyatt yells a warning, Doc Holiday turns into pretty much a Wild West version of a machine gun with those two revolvers? Fuck he's good.

  • @FF7CloudStrifeAC well theres no way to prove it, but rumor has it that the real Doc was the fastest draw ever. This movie really shows his skill.

  • Anyone else love how, after Ike starts firing like a coward from inside and Wyatt yells a warning, Doc Holiday turns into pretty much a Wild West version of a machine gun with those two revolvers? Fuck he's good.

  • Wyatt: "It's not your problem, Doc. You don't have to mix up in this."

Doc: "That is a helluva thing for you to say to me."

  • @joeybasu516 That was a really bad ass line. But you can also see the sadness in Doc's eyes when he says that, and its sad, because Doc is so loyal to Wyatt.

  • I love the buring building in the background, so ominous

  • Does anyone else feel that Val Kilmer should have won an Oscar for this?

  • @hench1985 i totally agree

  • @hench1985 YES

  • @hench1985 he should of,im glad william defoe didnt do it as their 1st choice

  • its the Doc Holliday secret reload

  • Comment removed

  • Grab the audio from this vid at thetunify doht cohm.

  • I don't know why Morgan was so upset. In Call of Duty he wouldn't even have gotten an assist because Doc finished him with the chest shot first.

  • They'll be less apt to get nervy, if he's on the street-Howitzer.

  • while smilin.... *wink* son of a bitch val kilmer is BOSS in this

  • cowboys should of won

  • Ive been to tombstone before!!! :D

    its pretty intense...

  • Who does Doc shoot from 5:30-5:40??

  • Best ever performance from Val Kilmer.

  • This is probably the best visual adaptation of OK Corral, but it is still incorrect as it was NOT a gunfight, but mass murder. Only the Earps and Doc Holiday fired shots, the Clantons didn't fire any...

  • @lossie101 Billy Clanton's gun was fired until it was dry and Frank McLaury shot Doc Holliday. Virgil and Morgan were both wounded in the fracas. If it was "mass murder" they wouldn't have let the unarmed Ike Clanton escape (though having Ike firing from C.S. Fly's studio is pure fabrication).

  • So 5:05 Is Holliday using two different types of pistols? Obviously one of them is nickel plated. You see him shooting with that. However is this the second one?

  • "You're a daisy if you do." BADASS!!!

  • How the hell do you dislike this video? What is wrong with people.

  • @jsmutko They must be Cowboys! lol!

  • I wonder why they (Earps) didn't position a sniper on the roof across the way and get two more fellows to come up on a flanking postion and disarm the cowboys using SWAT moves.

  • They had Johnny Barnes instead of Billy Claiborne running away.

Ike and Claiborne are the only one's who shot their mouth's off and then ran like bitches. Always the way it is.

  • One of the best shoot outs I have ever seen...

  • this movie and its gun fight was better than Kevin Costners wyatt earp

  • 0:57

  • It corny in the end with that romantic stuff, but that was shootout was stellar. A now classic movie, one of the best! Val just mastered that role, all of them are great, even the whats fer dinner dude!

  • like this if doc holliday is your favorite character

  • the sheriff did not even deserve to wear a badge he is dirty and corrupt

  • If you want accuracy, according to the tour I took when I went to Tombstone, on the day the fight happened, it had actually snowed!

  • Dat wink at 4:03 lol!

  • 4:09 Is where the fun begins :D

  • 2:30, that kid is so lucky he didn't get his head blown off right there.

  • @Maximxj750 I don't know if it was intentional, but to me, my view is that it shows their self-constraint, their complete split second control and decision-making and even composure under such stress. Done for effect but very cool.

  • Is it me? or why aren't the Earps help putting out the fire? I would imagine that would take higher priority than a 'misdemeanor'... I mean WTF!!!

  • Cool!

  • I love it when dock does that thing with the jacket just looks awesome

  • Doc is a hacker hes using extended mags haha

  • isnt the sheriff or who ever the old guy who usualy wears grey is he harry Carey jr?

  • doc holiday.... shotgun ...... nuff said

  • the cast was really good however i hated doc holiday, val really does bring the arrogant, self centered asshole personality thsat holiday was, dying of turbercelosis was gods way of killing the jerk, and wyatt, oh wyatt a truly arrogant lucky son of a bitch, the mightier than though atitude i could forgive, but never getting shot while his brothers and friends were gunned down. the earps always acted tough, but always played the vicitms going up agaisnt men who were not as skilled as them.

  • All star cast and Kilmer steals the show! Closely followed by Kurt Russel of course.

  • Bit of backstory here. This was the underdog picture. Kevin Costner's movie was supposed to be the grand epic. Rumor has it he tried to get actors to not sign onto this film. Yet the power of Kurt Russell got a lot of bang for his buck. Val Kilmer, Haden Church, Stephen Lang, Michael Rooker, Bill Paxton, Dana Delany, Charlton Heston, Michael Biehn, Sam Elliot and Powers Boothe plus Billy Bob Thornton. I think he did well.

  • Great Movie My top 5 Greates Movies ever

  • I really like Tombstone because it centralizes the Earp lore in a dramatic way from when they arrive in Arizona until they hunt down the remnants of the Cowboy gang...but does anyone besides me like Wyatt Earp with Kevin Costner because it digs deeper into the lore of Earp's story from when he's younger? I prefer both movies really.

  • @dthevideofan657289 I also like both moveis. I think Wyatt Earp was more of a life tale than anthing. Some people know about what he did and who he was back east but everyone knows about the gunfight. Plus Dennis Quaid as Doc was probably a bit more historically accurate, but Val Kilmer just did a phenominal job. LOL. Everyone was good. Whoever cast the roles in the movie should get an Oscar.

  • That's it! gonna play Red Dead Redemption now!

  • FOrgive me if I'm wrong, but didn't Holliday take a bullet in the leg?

  • I'LL BE YOUR FRIGGEN' HUCKLEBERRY!

  • 17 people aint no daisy's

  • Lolz! You're daisy if you do.

  • This is the best western movie ever made and the closest one to actual history with Wyatt Earp and company!!!

  • I'm with Earp... This really shouldn't have happened in reality. Could have been handled better.

  • @ZivWar

actually some people beleive though the clantons were stirring up trouble the gunfight was brought on by the earps and holiday who shot first (or at the same time as the clantons) but the earps were far better shots and only were minorly wounded while the others were butchered. the earps including wyatt may have gone there with the intention to finish off the threat to themsleves, the directors of wyatt earp movies always paints wyatt in a good light like he was reluctant to kill,

  • this was a lousy movie, but you ruined one of the less lousy parts by screwing up the aspect ratio

if you did it on purpose, for copyright reasons, try just turning it backwards. Nothing looks worse than a distorted aspect ratio.

  • @kozmon0t your an idiot

  • @kozmon0t you really are an idiot. this movie got tremendous ratings and a few awards if i am not mistaken.

  • @bevofan123 ok... you started this...

    FUCK YOU

  • @kozmon0t oh yay!! you learned a curse word. arent you intelligent? NOT!!! you didnt like this movie, therefore you can suck balls, oh wait you already do!! you probably like the movie Wyatt Earp where dumbass kevin costner couldnt even grow a mustache! what kind of retard portrays Wyatt Earp without a mustache? you need to go back to your time of conceiving and tell your parents to not make the mistake and slip some rubber on dumbass!!

  • the portrayal of most characters varied from the real thing except Doc by val. Morgan and wyatt especially in this movie but its still a damn good show

  • @sn54 sam elliot was a good virgil and val was an excellent doc. the others could have done a little better but you know...better than the other portrayals by far

  • @zacuh17 are you like mentally retarded? this movie got tremendous ratings and awards.

  • wink ;)

  • does any1else notice doc shoots 3 shots from his double barrel?

  • @blackhoodmankiller lol wow ive seen this movie at least 500 times and never noticed good eye!!!

  • @blackhoodmankiller its actually one to scare the horse and one to kill one of the guys. the fatal shot to the cowboy was shown from two different angles. just a slight continuity error is all.

  • @blackhoodmankiller um... excuse me, but i think your forgetting something... hes doc... he could probably fire that thing like a mini gun.

  • @blackhoodmankiller Yeah I was watching this the other day trying to count everyone's shots (cause I'm a big accuracy nerd) and it definitely looks like Doc fires three shots from a double barrel shotgun. Still an awesome fight scene though, and it happens so fast you don't pay much attention to how many shots they're firing unless you watch it over and over like us fans do.

  • @blackhoodmankiller nope it was the same killing shot but viewed from a different angle...

  • @blackhoodmankiller They replayed when he shot the second time at a different camera angle. If you pay attention, you'll notice they play multiple parts over and over again at different camera angles.

  • @blackhoodmankiller its only two shots, the one is replayed. Bad decision by the director but not a mistake.

  • @blackhoodmankiller I think thats the kill "2nd shot" from two different angles

  • @blackhoodmankiller same discrepancy as them shooting more than six shots out of a revolver and not reloading....

  • @blackhoodmankiller actually i think that the scene after doc shoots twice shows him shooting the guy again so it is really two shots. Just look at 4:24 and see the guy falling down the same way probably was a recut of two different takes of the scenes.

  • @blackhoodmankiller yea never noticed . good eye sir.

  • @blackhoodmankiller, Val Kilmer is that good.

  • @blackhoodmankiller It's just bad editing, really. You see the guy go flying at the 2nd shot, yet on the 3rd shot he's still standing.

  • @blackhoodmankiller I on't see why he wouldn't have reloaded the shotgun & kept using it. I would have. Lot easier to hit something with.

  • @blackhoodmankiller he reloaded so fast your mind couldnt comprehend the speed, yeah im drunk

  • @blackhoodmankiller the last two shots are the same just from different angle

  • @blackhoodmankiller but hes doc fucking holiday.

  • yeah well as exciting as this scene is and as good as the movie is overall, they really didn't do their homework as to how the fight happened. Ike never got his hands ona gun and Wyatt was not the reluctant participant Russell portrayed him to be. Costener's Wyatt Earp is the truest and historically accurate depiction of this gunfight. and his protrayal of W. Earp is more spot on. He wanted the fight to happen . And Doc was wounded in the fight. Too bad the movie was great until this scene

  • I believe Doc's strategy of getting the horse to stand on its hind legs was well thought-out, especially under pressure from the Cowboys.

  • Ike Clanton was a little bitch. Fleeing when the heat is on

  • @Tdi7457

he was, he was a coward and a back shooter, and was killed the same way after escaping "earp" justice

  • Doc Holiday with the rapid fire. Gotta love it!

  • hell yea Vergil got him some nice poonanny

  • Love the end where wyatt and doc walk away unscathed and everyone steps aside to let them pass.

  • @bush80 Actually, Doc took a glancing round to his hip, and was thought to be seriously wounded at first. Some witnesses of the gunfight heard him scream that he'd been shot. This is seen (but not heard) in "Wyatt Earp" with Dennis Quaid as Doc.

  • ALRIGHT YOU ARE ALL UNDER ARREST

    not today behan

  • Just because you have a mustache doesn't mean you can speak italian

  • Best part of this scene is before the shooting @ 1:11 just after Wyatt tells Holliday it's not his problem and he doesn't have to get involved. That is true friendship.

  • @StealthBlue And is based on fact!

  • Kevin Costner remade this movie, and it was so crap in comparison. This was an awesome cowboy movie

  • @TrentSki80 "Wyatt Earp" is not a remake of "Tombstone." There's an excellent explanation online as to why both were made. Somewhere between the two is the truth. Neither film really followed the history of the backstory, the gunfight, or the Vendetta Ride, but "Wyatt Earp" attempted to cover more of what we know. If the real story is ever filmed, probably only the serious followers of American western history (I would be in that category) will go see it. Everyone else will call it "crap."

  • LOVE , LOVE , LOVE when Kilmer winks and sets it off !

    Cool as shit !

  • One of my absolute favorite movies of ALL time!!

  • "That is a hell of a thing for you to say to me" >:(

  • "I got you now, you son of a bitch."

"You're a daisy if you do."

  • 15 peoplewere rooting for the bandits

  • "I don't think I'll let you arrest us today Beehan." - awesome line.

  • @America200yo I agree, awesome line which translated to a more familiar form is "You gotta be kidding me motherfucker!" :)

  • @America200yo

yes i quite like russells acting when he said i won't let you arrest us, it was a classic wyatt earp, only follwing his law, i be if beehan had tried to press the matter wyatt would have probably shot him "I don't think i'll let you live today beehan" it is just waht wyatt earp truly was

  • wait, so Locke ended up in this time period? did he meet Jacob then?

  • doc holliday is badass

  • I just notice that it starts on 6-4 in favor of the Cowboys but 2 run off for Cowboys, 1 unarmed turning it into a 4 on 3 Wyatt Earp favor

  • @mattsmt20

the earps were always in favour, they were better shots, more skilled, i mean Wyatt was a famous law man, and doc holiday was always a fast killer, the clantons were mostly back shooters and brawlers not seasoned gunmen, the earps would have succeeded either way. they only suffered minor wounds it wasn't until later that they were whacked from the clantons back shooting them.

  • doc never has to relosd cause guess what..he a bad ass.

  • Gawddamn kid

  • You're a daisy if ya do.

  • Doc Holiday is such a bad ass in this movie...

  • I saw a gun fight once on Independence Avenue in KCMO - 1993? Lots of shooting lots of people running. Idiots could not hit an elephant at close range with a scatter gun. Guess that was for the best.

  • Fuck reloading. Reloading is for pussies with no mustaches.

  • Hey, when the shit hits the fan, I want Doc on my side, sick or not..

  • I Think Doc shoots out of his double barreled shotgun three times

or it must be a different angle replayed of the kill

  • @chowlie95 angles, watch the part slowly

  • @chowlie95 He reloaded while the camera was on someone else.

  • 15 people ran away with wike

  • "you ought a daisy if you do" and "I'll be you'll huckleberry" are the best lines Doc had every said!

  • @latindrummer777 I believe it's "You're a daisy if you do" and "I'm your huckleberry"

    :)

  • That kid runnin' up on them like that must have been the director's son or somethin'. There was no reason for it to stay in the final cut of the movie. Still a great scene.

  • @bush80 I hated that too but then.....it messed withthe tension and damn KID!

  • @Paul: Who knows exactly what happened? Even eye witnesses didn't see everything. Based on the facts, this movie version sticks to many facts based on eye witness testimony. They couldn't resist Hollywood embellishment though.

  • @elrond70 true

  • Doc doesn't have a care in the world at 2:35

I guess he knew he was dying anyways, so if he did get show it wouldn't matter

  • @nyr1994 I think Doc actually wanted to get shot as opposed to dying of TB. Can't say i blame him on that one though.

  • The section of the gunfight where Ike Clanton fires at the Earps from behind through the window of Fly's was fictional, along with the subsequent spraying of bullets from twin Doc Holliday revolvers. Also, the combatants were in closed quarters, not spaced out in this version. Aside from these discrepancies, the rest of the gunfight is meticulously filmed based on historical fact, and eyewitness accounts.

  • @elrond70 true and nearly there to the real thing, as the other movies i have seen like gunfight at the ok corral 1957 film and the film Doc 1971 are appauling versions of this gunfight

  • Simply put...MESS WITH THE BULL...YOU GET THE HORNS!

  • One of the best Westerns over the last 25 years. Kilmer is wonderful, and every other peformance is at least good; excellent casting, with Russell, Lang, Boothe, Paxton, Eliot, Delany, Priestly, Heston --

  • @stevevandien U LEFT OUT BILLY ZANE

  • @stevevandien dont forget about the guys in the clanton gang, john corbet, thomas haden church, the guy from terminator and billy bob thorton as a fat ass in the begining of the movie

  • @louieguitarist Michael Biehn was in Terminator. He also was in Aliens. He's gotten around as an actor, which was why I was surprised to see him in this as Billy Claiborne. I think he played Billy, right?

  • @dthevideofan657289 he played jonny ringo

  • @dthevideofan657289

michael biehn in this movie was in fact, johnny ringo

  • @dthevideofan657289 no Michael Biehn he played Johnny Ringo

  • Earp promoted a cruel, vile and coward ambush...

  • One of the best scenes ever !

  • Favorite cowboy movie ever

  • One of the greatest scenes of all time never get tired of watching it

  • Val Kilmer's best, revived Kurt Russell's career, and Sam Elliot's moustache is flawless!(Family Guy: "Yep, it's a moustache kinda mornin'!")

  • a dozen shots going off doesn't scare the horse but one shotgun shot into the air does..

  • @James87beast Well known fact horses don't like shotguns, like elephants and mice. muhahaha

  • @James87beast According to most accounts, the horse was actually grazed by a bullet and that's what made it bolt.

  • would love to have see IKE get his freakin head blew off :)

  • Blow-out begins at 4:03...!

  • love wyatts gun!
