  • love the video really good

  • you have some great stuff here

  • really informative and interesting

  • very interesting thanks

  • love the video man

  • love the video man

  • This LNC will benefit the real nowhere men, the scientists who believe in this machine. There is not a shred of evidence that the LHC will benefit the common man, even though his hard earned money went to the project. Our politicians have been seduced by these dreamers. DEFUND all scientific projects. They only benefit a few.

  • @vkorchnoifan Thanks too CERN we have World Wide Web .. Saying that bullshit over the internet is like saying you hate Mc Donalds at the same time eating a bigmac. Also it says you live in the USA soo its not your money that go to CERN. Also as you say "common man" would live in a cave if it wsn't for science. "DEFUND all scientific projects" soo stop using science if you don't like it.

  • Please defund all scientific projects. Billion and billions are been spent on these projects for what ? It only benefits a few workers, engineers, and scientists. What are the benefits for the average Joe... a lighter paycheck for him and his family. Stop the nonscience. Our governement have been seduced by these wolfs who are happy when the government funds their scientific projects. Shame, shame on them, all the while the country's families and individuals suffer from paycheck to paycheck.

  • @vkorchnoifan Troll harder

  • @vkorchnoifan What benefit I have from "average Joe" ?? average Joe 2000 years ago lived like 30 years and died .. average Joe didn't understood science and with religion they stoped it and we lived in Dark Ages where average Joe's life was 25 years. Thanks too science Joe lives 3 times longer and his got more wealth and better health than aristocracy in the dark ages.

  • Im still wating for the blackhole!

  • I believe that the discoveries at CERN with the LHC in the future will open up a new thinking of the world and the universe from once we thought of, our future generation children will be learning the new physics of quantum mechanics in schools. Not only that but physics will not be the same again, at least at an atomic level that is.

  • did you guys at CERN discovered anything yet? or have u just wasted 9 billion dollars?

  • OMG, the music sucks....

  • I hate the freaking music...

  • We hit it off so well after another visit busizz4me.info

  • type gift then youtube.com

  • the music at the beginning was pretty awesome

  • TESLA's work without giving him credit.

  • just out of curiosity, whats the amount of data gotten from one impact in Gigabytes and how long does it take to process it all.

  • @adzii1 How does it feel being deluded? (: Yes, a magical sky daddy created by man that is modeled after an oppresive king is really more believable over scientific calculations that have data backing up claims vs "God did it".

  • @KaraniKun BULL, SHIT the big bang is just a theory doesn't mean it is true.

  • @adzii1 Your brain became a hypothesis after I read what you said.

  • @Razgrits What does hypothesis mean?

  • @adzii1 That there is a possibility that your brain exists, although since it's a hypothesis, I wouldn't count on it.

  • @Razgrits ..|.,

  • @adzii1 Truth tends to always hurt...

  • The "Big Bang" is a JOKE!! How can something (the universe) be created by the "Big Bang" when nothing was there to cause the "Big Bang" it's just made up shit!! God is more believeable than a random explosion from nothing just suddenly exists. It's big bull crap!

Yes, God does exist he created the universe... You going to say God doesn't exist because who created him? Well, teh universe needed a creator (God) and the creator has to be eternal so that means he was always there and always will be

  • @adzii1 lol

  • So what now

  • thats cool

  • music reminds me theme from Rocky...

  • They could have a least bought a computer with a better graphics chip than that...I could make pictures like that on my old Commodore VIC 20.

  • look at all nerds in this vid.

  • I built a large hadron collider in my kitchen out of components from Radio Shack for $45. Hm. That sounded funnier when it was still in my head.

  • @terransage LOL

kaku actually built 1 in his moms garage wen he was growing up,som1found out and they gave him a free scholorship /TRUE

can some1 tell me what we've learnd so far?

  • @z1inspector I remember him talking about that in one of his documentaries. When I was the same age, I was probably still playing with Legos or Tinkertoys! :D

  • You go CERN!! Oh, and BTW, love your response to the dipstick who insulted the lady physicist!!

  • This is true science, it is so exciting. Im proud that europe had the guts and the conviction to make this a reality. Well done.....truly! Courage like this is what is needed to ensure the survival of the human race and the preservation of the planet. Basic science is the basis on witch the inventors of tomorrow stand. Go CERN!!!

  • LHC will pwn ze world

  • you don't really hear much about this..

  • Just another gov. program designed to create jobs for blind followers and parasites ! Oh we just broke another record get out the champagne.

  • and if the experiment is a succes what will happen? the internet will be faster? the medicine will be better? the space rockets will be better and faster? etc. or only test if some theories are true so they can understand the universe better.

can this test prove hyperspace or wormholes?xD our only hope of exploring the universe

  • @selearemus Probably all of that, and more. Understanding Nature is at the base of the process of invention. You wouldn't have electricity, lasers, cars, planes, if someone hadn't done the sort of research that we are doing now.

  • can some tell me what happened? 2 protons collided? and what happened? they found higgs?

i don't understand what cern is trying to do. find the smallest particle?

  • @selearemus Find how energy transforms into matter, which means how the Universe and all that we can see around us came into existence.

  • @selearemus yea ,ANY NEW NEWS?

  • omg this woman walks around like a stripper on stage

  • @sphinx646 Where is it written that female scientists must be ugly and boring?

  • @CERNTV :D you do look cute bringing the news which I must say made me watch all of it even if the science part gets boring sometimes. So great job, didn't wanted to be mean, but that was just the first thing to pop in my mind in catwalk scenes! :*

I hope you find the higgs soon! ;)

  • @CERNTV Isn't it in the Bible somewhere?

  • @CERNTV

    Touche.

  • @CERNTV as a former CERN tech student, I can only support this ;)

  • @sphinx646 Me Like It

  • @sphinx646 LOL!

  • @sphinx646 she's given me a big hadron

  • Thanks for the update, CernTV! Please read youtube comments selectively, and trust that your efforts are indeed appreciated by the vast majority.

  • @PVanderston We do hope so. Thanx for your support.

  • @CERNTV When will Cern reach it's full capacity? Or at least, around when? I also don't remember how much it was, 17 Tev?

  • Waste of money

  • @alainvig how is it a waste of money? Wait before you answer that pick up a an history book on science.

  • @Chill197 It's a waste of money because they didn't publish any physical science results on their website yet, I don't even know if they confirmed the theorical higgs boson model bullshit.

All of this, is to show off how Europe is filthy rich, that they can burn plenty of our taxpayer money, they could use this money for more humanitarian stuff for example, or improve space missions...etc..

  • @alainvig I recommend you read up on history of science and also on particle physics then maybe you might no what you are talking about. Although I do share your sentiment on the humanitarian side that's why I support this project. Science should be done for the sake of science. Experiment's like these what laymen considered insignificant and a waste of money are the reason why we are talking on the internet and why we live relative comfortable life's.

  • @Chill197 I know science I am en engineer. Those scientists are very arrogant, thinks they know everything. EX: there are 2 intelligent persons, one comes from the rich but one comes from the poor social background. Nevertheless, the poor scientist appear to be less intelligent than the scientist from a rich background, because of how our society looks at people.

Those arrogant LHC scientist seems to be social comedians, but not the caliber of Einstein or Planck or Edison.

  • @Chill197 You shouldn't judge people based on their social background or which "prestigious Universities" they went, remember Thomas Edison or Nicolas Tesla were very smart intelligent people, they invented many good things, but had no diplomas.

I respect more those people many folds over those so-called scientist with lots of academic works but never created or invented anything.

  • @alainvig I dont judge people based on there social background. In fact I would be lucky if I get into any university because I dont come from a rich background so I have to work that much harder. I dont think those scientists are argogent and if they think they know everything they wouldnt be doing this would they. Science is a collective thing I believe collective inteligence is more important then indervidual inteligence. Based on what you study can change the way you think.

  • @Chill197 It's really science and nature that dictates what we can do, meaning universal laws is unchangeable, bending our mindset or belief system to fit nature is what's constitute progress. The consideration of social environments or man made ideologies must be non-consequential, compared to the greatness of the universe.

  • @alainvig lol i agree XD they wont discover a sh** by that anyway :D

  • @alainvig Like most people here, I come from a public University (Bari, Italy) where I payed fees for 350 dollars a year, from a modest family. What gets you here is not money, but motivation.

  • @CERNTV Public education is only the beginning, our current Science should not be considered perfect, the more you try to know, the more you realize you don't know everything. Academic Pedantry pride based uniquely on diplomas alone is in fact a mean of expressing social class distinction between the have's and have's not. Scientific people should try to be morally responsible and modest, and should be put to help humanity raising higher goals.

  • @CERNTV

This is history in the making. I wish them well.

  • @alainvig

I agree, it is obvious that they are not spending their own money.

  • Good job. I'll be expecting more news from CERN!!

  • you did great jobs . that i just quit and dont care about cern lhc anymore just move on and move forward these are just try to sarcy you and cern people keppt good work for next project .and cern people we are alll giong to miss you alot .

  • great jobs cern good luck for decaed of 2010s but i am wonder what did you do after lhc ?

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you Cern and everyone involed for getting one step closer to understanding alot more about our world and the universe.

  • This is all against gods will!

I kid - fair play. Keep it up. You had best turn it into the most ridiculously fast roller coaster or something once you've finished smashing 'em protons or whatever it is you're up to.

If I can ask - more seriously - once you have achieved the perfect collision, what is it you hope to get? I'm briefly briefed in regards to 'how we came to be' and 'what we're actually made of' and 'what started the big bang' But still, I'm fairly lost.

  • Comment removed

  • @topjonn why you said that

  • they should just give me one of that 10 billion they use to make this thing ..and ill fix all the problem

  • @CERNTV What TeV do you think would be required for the possibility to find sparticles, if they exist?

  • I'm still waiting for that black hole you were supposed to deliver =/

  • that chick thats talking distracted me from the video, what was it about again?

  • petabytes of data!! amazing

  • Congratulations on the successful collisions! It will be exciting to see what the analysis of them will show. Good luck!

  • Good job guys. I bet you are after that aether particle (you call God particle or Boson de Higgs) denied for many years since Einstein said there is no aether particle. Let its discovery give credit to the greatest scientists and engineers who suspected and THEORIZED its existence - to name one - Nikola Tesla the Man who electrified the world and opened this era of technological advancement! One day man will re-realize that there is only Prana and Akasha which govern this so-called "reality" !

  • Does any chinese Scientist join this project ??

  • @podcai You sound very communal.. But as far as I know China is not a member state of CERN programme nor it is an Observer member like Japan, India, Russia, USA, Israel or Turkey. However it doesn't mean that there are no Chinese scientists working there!

  • @lnpkural I just heard it from chinese news saying join this project. I doubt it so asking......

  • @podcai I have no idea mate.. I'm not working at CERN. You better check with reliable news agency or with CERN itself.

  • I will miss the LHCNews series. I hope more info in YouTube come soon!

  • what a crappy music... it deserves a Bach-like music.

  • In any other circumstances I would never ever think of writing a comment here. I always loved science and I am not even religious person. But I do meditate a lot and I know I have a pure heart. I am sure that all you guys have a brilliant mind. And you are working desperately in this project.

But the message is clear THIS IS USELESS AND DANGEROUS. NOTHING GOOD WILL COME FROM THIS EXPERIMENT. REMEMBER THE PAST AND LISTEN TO THE MESSAGES SENT.

  • Hei Dööre Lina.DX59.

  • A billion dollar laboratory, fancy suits, high technology, impeccable response to any argument that defies this magnificent project. What is wrong with that ? nothing really.

Please guys, dont forget that one of the greatest mind of history immensely regretted his actions. Dont let knowledge, vanity and specially money blind you from what is most important in our lives LOVE. Is really you who is running the show or is the man behind the curtains.

  • Hey guys, great job, I really appreciate all your dedication to this huge scientific project. That means a lot to me and to billions of people here in this planet. Hope you guys get the earth exploded real soon. So that we all go to heaven, there you can ask personally to God about his particle.

  • @index23432 There is no heaven or hell.. The whole Universe itself is God. ;) Why do you guys believe in heaven when Earth itself is as beautiful as heaven (I agree sometimes it appears to be as ugly as hell too) ?

  • why end it?

  • Thanks for making this vid. We wish we could get updated more frequently!

  • Intro was too long and the text looked like Word97 style "Word Art" being spun around... Shorten it and simplify it. The availability of 1080p is great and the camera work was nice. Nice accent and narration. Don't show graphs fading in and out without any context! There was a spike in the first graph - what did it mean? If it showed the 7TeV somehow, write that in! If the second graph was a Fourier transform of the first, tell me! Whatever it is, contextualise!

  • so, like, WTF? u just decided to leave us hanging? no more news? how rude.

  • Anyone notice the 12 bottles of wine of top of the cubbord at 1:20?

  • @captainben21 That is not wine, but Champagne, and it flows on great occasions, such as the LHC's first beams, its energy records, and now, its first collisions!

The LHC Control Room is in France after all.

  • @CERNTV The beams were sent only one way and it took them 2 hours folks to get around...it is far from the speed of light and there are already great problems occuring with the equipment

  • Thank you CERNTV for all your hard work! I greatly look forward to the new show....hmm...any eta on that?

  • So, the magnet protection system's problem caused a quench. That sounds counter-productive. So what's the advantage? Did it protect the parts from being damaged by the quench?

  • @LokiClock Exactly. The QPS failed to detect conditions that lead to a quench. The system is new and as all prototypes, it takes some time to stabilize, debug and work fine.

  • If this present run is for 7 TeV proton-proton collisions, is the LHC capable of a future run of 7 TeV proton-anti-proton collisions ?

  • @Steaphany The LHC was engineered to collide proton-proton. There are a number of reasons, connected to its physics program, why we chose that instead of proton-antiproton. Most important is perhaps the fact that it is much harder to make antiprotons, than protons. With antiprotons, you have smaller bunches, therefore less luminosity, and lower collision rate, so finally less chances of interesting events. For more details search for lhc proton-proton in physicsforum-com.

  • Wow, those little protons got a standing ovation.

  • just watched it 4 the second time and realised there will be no more ...nooooooo...lol thanx cern and our host Paola 4 a great show wish it was longer but wish in 1 hand shit in the other and Paolo is still beautiful

  • Very well done Paola Christiane and Oscar headed for the northern lights she was so worried about black Holes. Brilliant work everyone. you tube. MARKAFAITH.

  • Good Presentation Paola20/10

    Hei Doore Mark DX.

  • @BLEOS33 Some of it is made available, but you have to be a particle physicist to understand it. Check out the experiments websites, in particular CMS. Can't put links here, but google "cms experiment cern", or same for atlas, and should find some event displays.

  • Keep up the good work CERN :D

  • böö whö

    Tak Hei Dööre

Nö lina u cant tak bo to the hey door.

  • Tak

    Hei Dööre

    DX. Linå

  • Aww... the news series ended here. So, no more news on LHC from this channel in the future? I really like this channel, it keeps me up to date on whats going on at LHC without having to google for the latest news. Hope you guys will have new materials posted here in the future to keep us updated.

And thanks for all the LCHNews posted here. Really useful, as mentioned.

  • @Hornet85 Hold on, we never said we'll stop talking about the LHC. Listen to what Paola says at the end. The LHCNews series was just a bulletin to keep you informed on the progress of repairs after the 2008 incident. Now that the LHC is running, we will tackle less technical and more scientific topics concerning the LHC with a new series called "LHC Reports", and the whole of CERN, with a new series called "CERN News". So you will probably get more.

    Silvano

  • @CERNTV thats nice ! Just give us more Paola !!!

  • @CERNTV & Paola

Thanks for the clarification! I also was worried the updates were ending.

I LOVE the videos about the LHC and CERN in general.

Thank you VERY, VERY, much for the hard work involved in producing these updates. It is MUCH appreciated!!

If anyone is a geek like me...complte the following....

    UP, DOWN, CHANGED, ???????

    Rod:-)

  • @SuEnRoD

    I made a mistake.

    That should be.

    Up, Down, CHARMED, ???????

  • Closing the series, what did you find out? Any new science discovered?

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS Discovering new things needs time and many, many events. I don't think they'll find evidence for anything in 2010 - maybe a small hint, if the collision rate and reliability allow that.

  • @JOHNINCOLUMBUS Maybe we'll have to wait till it reaches 14 TeV, before the scientist can see some really cool new stuff never seen in collider before ;)

This (7 Tera) is only 50% of its intended capacity, so we're only at the very beginning.

  • @Hornet85 - I realize it takes time to examine the results, but I was under the impression they reached 14 Tv this time with the collisions.

  • @Hornet85 7Tev is largely enough to see plenty of new things, including the Higgs. But even without Higgs, don't forget that there are a lot mysteries and puzzles to find out. There are 7 experiments on the LHC, some look for antimatter, others for quark-gluon plasma, other study the proton itself, which still a very poorly understood thing, the big experiments look for supersymmetry, dark matter, dark energy, extra dimensions etc. All very exciting...

    Silvano

  • Just to clarify, this series of youtube vid reports is finished, but this channel on youtube will still be producing vids and a new series will be here in the future, so stay subscribed? :)

  • Thank you for the latest update and congrats on you first 7Tev collisions. I'm looking forward to the findings :)

  • What if Higgs doesent exist and u wont discover anything new from this big and expensive machine ?

  • @juurme It would be a huge discovery to find nothing new with this much energy. A lot of theories predict things to happen in this range, so all of them would be falsified. It would also be a clue for future theories.

  • @juurme That would be a first. All of our previous machines have discovered a lot, with much less energy. It's like catching no fish with a net 4 times bigger than your old one, which always came up full.

  • You guys are the coolest humans on this planet. Thank you for all the updates.

  • Can't wait till 14Tev to see if the higgs exists for the future of science =) Good job.

    (Adz 13)

  • Congrats CERN. It's heart warming to see such a massive undertaking succeed. Can't wait to start seeing the impact LHC's data will have on the scientific community.

  • We better go for 14 Tev before Rodney Mckay wants his ZPM back.

He's been bitching about that since weeks.

  • Cheese music is just fine for this event imho. :)

  • Hey all, thank you for your feedback, we appreciate. Apologies for the publication delay of these LHCNews. We are a very small team and we all needed a break after the 12h live production on the 30th. The music was cheesy ok, but it's an epic event and...

Next time I'll go for Slipknot or Metallica, which is my favourite.

    Silvano (director LHCNews)

  • You guys are the coolest humans on this planet. Thank you for the updates.

  • @CERNTV I saw you wrote you're a small team, would you need any more help?

  • @1andreasse Nice video though!

  • @CERNTV ♪♫

Might I suggest "Master of Puppets" for your next video? >:D

    Thanks for the LHCNews ♥

  • who's that girl she is hot..

  • I bet she was hot 10 years ago.

  • Bravo!!!!

  • two things:

    1. why do you post the "news" more than two weeks later? i think if the title is "LHCNews", you should post the video one, maybe two days after the actual experiment.

    2. why do you use this unsuitable music? it's much to loud for backround music and i didn't like listening to it through the clip.

  • Congratulations to everyone at CERN!

  • Not a dry eye in the house. Bravo & well done!

  • Thank you to the CERN-Team for all YouTube reports, and I wish you luck to find any things in the next years!!!

  • I don't think LHC is trying to Prove anything! but to Disprove unsupported theories.

    Correct me if I'm wrong?

  • I have been watching with the vistars on the web with fascination. Why is it so hard to maintain a beam set once they are started?

  • I admire these scientists! I'm always glad to hear about you guys!

  • Amazing but, PLEASE TAKE THAT MUSIC AWAY, feels like i am watching old news from 70's, these moments have to be epic, not Knight Rider like

  • Hey look! No Black hole!

  • @CERNTV Congratulations to CERN and everyone involved!!! Onward, ho!

  • get better music please, something like the music from homeworld, not this crap which makes it look so cheesy.

  • Someone in another comment thread suggested we reset to year 0 once the Higgs is discovered.

  • i'm really interested to know whats going on, but these videos are so lame. i mean the rocky theme? come on!

  • @mephistophile33 Yep I agree the production is kinda lame. But what can you say they are scientists and some of them are stuck in the 70's pop culture wise. ;}

  • Absolutely awesome, CERN scientists! We look forward greatly to seeing some results from the collisions.

But I have to ask, since I am a student at a university in the USA, and I would love to see this stuff myself... Do you still plan to be releasing data to specified international universities and/or research labs so others can assist in the analyzation of the massive amounts of data?

  • Thank you so much for keeping us up to date on the LHC!!!!!!

    Please keep up posted!

  • Go LHC, Go!
