White people are born with opportunities that many members of "minority" groups will never know the benefits of. White people are not constantly being questioned about their ability as people based on skin color. This is a great speech. It is honest and the most accurate portrayal of race and race relations made by any politician in the last 40 years.

I have, will, and continue to explain Ferraro's statements to the unfortunate Obama supporters. Ferraro was a mere political foot ball for the Obama campaign. If you actually examine her statements, they're substantiated in the fact that Obama gets a monolithic vote from the black community, and is generally strongest in smaller red states where racial tensions are higher. Hillary Clinton had people on her campaign who accused Barack of using cocaine, but they were immediately removed. What Ferraro said was divisive, ignorant, silly, based on race, and not true. She is not racist. What paster Wright said was ignorant, divisive, silly, and not true. I don't believe he is racist. Ignorant, & divisive, yes. Racist, no. I find it odd, you see Ferraro's comments as somehow "less". Yet Wrights are racist. I see both as wrong, horrible, stupid, & playing on racial fears.

She was speaking to how the media was unfair to Hillary saying "For one thing, you have the press, which has been uniquely hard on her. It's been a very sexist media. Some just don't like her. The others have gotten caught up in the Obama campaign." Her point is he's ONLY winning because he's black. Odd, he carried "white states" like Wis, Idaho, Conn, etc. Explain that.

That's the exact issue. She didn't say it was a "factor", which it is. But she implied it was the ONLY reason. "If Obama was a WHITE man, he would NOT be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color), he would not be in this position. He happens to be very LUCKY to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept." If you can't see that's divisively ignorant, silly, and untrue, you're thicker than concrete. So only "white people who want to move past racism" vote 4 him. Insane!

Ferraro's statements were totally accurate-and this speech just proves it. If Obama were not black he would not be where he is period. He would not be the first black candidate obviously, but he also wouldn't be as sensationalized and paraded by the media and his supporters.
