I actually think that Glenn is the best falsetto singer the group ever had. Eddies forte was the "sweetness" in his voice. Glenn is technically absolutely perfect, on the other hand.
i agree. I love the Tempts---always have, always will. Paul Williams Sr was/is my fav and Glenn Leonard comes next. Both have great voices and excellent rhythm. Could listen to them sing all day long--could watch them dance all day long. Just something about a goodlooking man with a voice AND rhythm! OUCHxxxxxxxxxx!!!
This one of my favorite line up of singers. I love these men' voices. They are absolutely beautiful. What I like about the Temps is that they had so many excellent vocalists, that when one left the group, they did not fall apart. They thrived.
With Dennis coming on board, it took the group higher and in another direction.
WORD Mssquirrely, you nailed it the Tempts had and still do Talented singers , dancers and performers, that have stood the test of time, the dells have that talent but can't perform like the tempts, the tops great but can't dance like the tempts, where would the Dells be if Marvin Junior left the group,
The Temps SUCCESS was due to being able to WITHSTAND. Their LONGEVITY is due maintaining TALENTED SINGERS regardless of whether they SOUNDED LIKE ONE or the OTHER ~ They're ALL GREAT SINGERS/PERFORMERS ~ I'm GRATEFUL they were able to hold the group TOGETHER throughout the years.
I don't think there is anything wrong with Glenn's tenor just because the brother don't sound like Eddie or Damon don't mean he is a bum! hell he was in the group for 8 yrs Damon probably had to have the eddie sound but glenn and Ron didn't,the tenor is the least change in the group 4-tenors in 50yrs! Dennis didn't have to sound like David different voices and different songs! What direction the group would went if Woodson or G.C. Cameron followed David, could they sing Dennis up-tempo sings.
After only hearing the (relatively) tepid studio version, I am shocked at how vital and exciting this song was live. Shocked! I like the pleasant original, but this is fierce. Wow. Great to see.
The Musics great! There will always be a matter of opinions as far as the long time fans go due to so many changes in the group! Its just a common thing with people including myself. Its just a matter of opinion(which it should be and nothing personal). All in fun and its all good! Lets continue to enjoy these sights and postings! They are indeed a blessing! Enjoy again!
Damon was a perfect fit for Eddie!!They maintained the Motown sound with him because of his similair voice. There are notes and lines that he sings that are so close to Eddies voice! Glenn is a great singer, and tenor.I just do not think he fit the Temptation sound. He is a better tenor than Ron Tyson also, but I think Tysons voice was a better fit! After Damon ,down went sales Grammys ect! All great Singers in all!
I feel you on this comment !! I'm looking for Damon harris group from baltimore called the Vandels before he got the greatsest opportunity in his life ! to sing with and be a TEMPTATIION.
Thanks for the Info! I was looking for them not by the young vandels but the Vandels, maybe this is also why i missed it. but thanks again. brings back a lot of memories.
86pimp3,it is about opinion, just brcause damon sounds like eddie doesn!t mean the other tenors were bums, glenn was it the group eight yrs, he wasn!t replaced because he couldn!t sing, he was having some drinking problems, read the damn book!
You dont even know what you are talking about. Does it really matter if he sung ONE part wrong!!!!!! Glenn is the best!!!!! Have u ever heard him sing other songs!! You need to geta damn hearing aid!!

@foppa123 Eddie Kendricks died in 1992 of lung cancer. May he rest in peace!
He had the warmest, sweetest voice ever.

YOU CAN SAY WHAT U WANT TO SAY ABOUT THE FALSETOS TO ME MR KENDRICKS WAS THE FIRST REAL ONE AND THE BEST.

I may agree with you, though I go back and forth between him and Ron. all the tenors have been awesome. and Glen can STILL sing his butt off.

@DandJRuffin Thats the first time ive heard his voice, its powerful.

@unspokenrespect Hi! Yes, Glenn has a wonderful voice. You might like his recordings with his own group The True Reflection

I used to think Glenn Leonard was the worst tenor the Tempts had, but seeing more videos with him, he's actually very good!

I Love their energy in this video. It's the same as in the Glass House vid.

He's supposed to be singin falsetto in the first part, he's singin in a mid range tenor.
86pimp3 4 years ago
At what part of the song, did he sing it wrong?
randyorton18 4 years ago
This proves that Damon was better than Glenn Leonard. He couldn't even sing his part right.
