  • caroline was it real damn this scene hard i definitly feel it in the air iam bout to go to a pay phone and ask my shorty was it real

  • true bromance <3

  • Your English is fine and you're right.

  • I actually cry almost every time when I see this clip. It´s like the most heart touching scene ever <3 And the moment at 3:33 really gives me cold waves (Is that right?) And I´m only 12 year old boy. But I still rather life in 80´s than today when all the music is mostly some stupid rap, pop or dubstep??? I mean give some respect for these guys who maked this video because it´s so awesome. This clip itself is even better than these million dollar budjet movies today. Sry for bad english :)

  • This scene and the one in the new MV are freakin wonderful

  • Too bad TV still refrains from or totally bungles the use of songs.

  • I had you and Donna and the kids over to dinner, what, two, twenty, thirty times.....

  • this the most favourite series of my childhood. You don't get this quality these days.

  • can someone tell me what year this was please. thanks.

  • @jb260683d 1984....This is the 2nd episode of the series called My Brothers Keeper part 2. So obviously Part 1 was the 1st episode.

  • I'm a Miami boy so I know all the areas where the film this and burn notice IT'S JUST AWSOME

  • They just don't make them like this anymore, pity.

  • Best T.V. soundtrack ever!

  • The best show on TV ever.

  • my brothers keeper episodes 1&2. the pilot of miami vice has to be the coolest show ever. just bought the dvd box set as my xmas present.

  • @huntercarbino: Enjoy! It's great to watch Vice anytime you want. Guard the box set as gold!

  • Badass, epic show, and the best characters!

  • the video is stretched to be widescreen when the source is not :9

  • Coolest damn thing. As we were making our way to South Miami coming from the Keys we got off and made our way through Coral Gables. As we did that this song Air in the Night came on the radio. As a fan of Miami Vice and now the Burn Notice, how much better can than than get?. I love South Florida. Having been here three times now. It is almost my second home.

  • CLASSIC!!!!!!

  • I love the fact that this is sooooooo ulta cool, ultra hip, so slick, and Crockett has to pull over to use a pay phone to call his ex.

  • Epic 80s!

  • this is so good, it gives me chills! this is when television was worth watching. *sigh

  • Everytime I hear this song it reminds me of Miami Vice! Loved the show and this song goes perfectly with it!! They always nice songs on the show & a lot of them turned out to be my favorites!!

  • Mr. D

  • the Ferrari daytona spider

  • @unangedechu corvette kit car... lol

  • @unangedechu you mean 1976 corvette with a daytona body kit.

  • Why do partners always mess things up?

  • I think this is the best scene in a TV serie ever made. The camera, the sound, the music, the interpretation, etc, is perfect.

  • Very nice scene!

  • The best video ever

  • ahh...remember phone booths instead of cell phones?

  • This was the first phil collins song I heard. Epic scene. I watched all the episodes as a kid back in S. America.

  • you just can't remake something so awesome.

  • The best scene

  • My most favorite scene from any movie!

  • This is a long shot but I've been wanting to find a clip of a Miami Vice episode I remember as a kid. It was similar to this vid as far as its effect on me. All I remember was this lady, red head/freckles, Crockett might have been interested in her and she might have had some kind of drug issues. The end of the scene had a house on fire or something... I don't know, the girl, the fire, the music, whole scene was memorable to me for some reason. If anyone knows the scene I'd love to see it again.

  • ...And I STILL pump this shit in my Expedition!!!

  • Man, this is extremely nostalgic. This may have been the most memorable scene from this series (I still haven't finished it yet).

  • Notice how the dividing lines on the highway go with the precussion. It is awesome

  • Ahhh yes, the Daytona car, very fkn classy ride. Love Vice, keep it coming. Just got season 5

  • I miss those days of actually getting out of my car and making a phone call in a booth and using my brain to store phone numbers.

  • my mom let me watch this and to me it was truly epic being a kid in the 80s

  • @cavalierfan1995 : I was a kid in te eighties. And indeed it was an epic decade.

  • Awesome job!!They don't make shows as good as this anymore.

  • I came here cos I like cars, not Miami vice.

Epic scene, pity they didn't have the V12 burble of the Ferrari Daytona fade in and out

  • this scene single-handedly made this song

  • Just cool! Simply just cool!

  • Did they run a red light without a siren at 4:01? NICE!!!

  • I'm sure some current movies scenes look askance at this stage to draw because it is the best ever...Thank you so much Mr. Mann!

  • HEY CASH, CASH, RULES ALL NOT HIS BAD, THAT WAS 30YEARS AGO NOW DEALING WITH THIS TIME,, MONEY IS SO SHORT, ALL GOES

  • I watc it 9 months ago on cro RTL 2 but they cut it from TV, las episode was payback

  • 3:33 (approximate)- Most. Epic. Moment. EVER.

  • @ImThatCrazyGal No shit, no shit.....

  • He was so screwed up he had to call his ex wife to check on what was real. Such good conflict building. At the time, jaws were on the floor.

  • original song of phil collins is phenomenal. but phil collins + don johnson + super trip in a super car + emotive scene = best video clip ever !!!!

  • My buddy Jim and I were 13 and 14. We sat there in awe. We'd never seen anything like this on TV before. Our MTV brains were in love with it. It has stayed with me ever since, as a prime example of cool tension build-up, and of how music can just elevate a scene to where you are totally involved and nothing else matters.

  • @captnavenger I totally agree. I used to seal up my room on Friday nights and sit in front of the TV with a pack of smokes and watch this shit like it was television crack. I was floored. Don was the shit. I ached to be that cool. I just wanted to get inside my TV with those dudes. I lived in a Miami Vice fantasy land for years.

  • LIKE A BOSS!!!!

  • Yes - oh yes - perfection.

  • Best scene ever.... EVER!

  • There was only ever gonna be one song to use in that scene. Just perfect...

  • And so it began, TV history where music was incorporated into a show that added to subtle nuance of story telling and many have tried to imitate it and many have failed to rise to its standards. Good job, Michael Mann.

  • I saw the tire spinning on the Ferrari at that low angle and the music kicked in and it gave me a chill for a moment. Flashbacks are a bitch sometimes.

  • sometimes 25 minutes is just barely enough.

  • the expression they have on their faces between 1:10 and 1:20 sums up my life. cobra out

  • It was real?...wasn't .You bet it was. Sonny what's wrong?Nothing Caroline.

Ferrari engine on ,drums getting louder. This dude is seriously mad!

    Got love it.Epic!

  • from which episode was this scene?

  • @TonyLegeo the first episode of the first season

  • @staschan it's the second episode... tubbs and crockett starts a "temporary" working relationship

  • @whitepolly The episode is only shown in 2 parts mostly when rebroadcast on television. In the original airing & on the subsequent DVD releases the whole 90 mins is shown as 1 whole episode.

  • @whitepolly it's from a pilot

  • @TonyLegeo the pilot

  • huge

  • Because the last time Sonny requested backup he nearly got shot to death by Bluto and Lee Harvey Oswald over there. XD

  • such a cool scene...

  • I was 18yrs old watching this ! Happy days loved it !!!

  • One of the best scenes in tv history....ever

  • Damn !!! how I love that car !

  • I remember seeing this for the first time in the 80's.Just loved it and it got me hooked on vice.Luv the daytona

  • it was genius with the no wind. only hearing their voices the loading of the gun the car door opening and shutting and peeling out. No engine Just the occasional noise and the music

  • absolutely Epic Cool. those times don't ever return... the entire uncanny anticipation and streetlined-illuminated flow becomes really tangible and genuine with the music.

  • And keep me smokin

  • Wats going on in this scene it's epic with the music

  • best scene ever, from best TV series ever!!!

  • The only flaw with this clip is the aspect ratio. How hard could it be to not upload 4:3 material as 16:9?

For those who somehow can't see this - Try looking at the close-ups of the wheels with your head tilted 90 degrees. Aren't wheels supposed to be round?

  • holy fuck this is cool I saw this when I was like 7 or 8

  • AWESOME, i LOVE THIS SHOW!! This was a great scene!

  • Even though that Ferrari is a fake it's still a badass scene. Thanks for posting!

  • Please ....bring back this kind of TV, because reality TV is just okay but not memorable like this great show was. Theres so many damn shows out now and none have that it factor. oh well at least we got youtube.

  • For those of you complaining about how today's television & film culture needs to be like it was ''back in the day'' well NEWSFLASH: Why do you think we have so many remakes and less originality in terms of ''defining a whole new generation''? Look at the Miami Vice film: Failure!!! Look at the 90210 & Melrose Place remakes : Failures!! 80s Horror Movie Remakes : Failures!!! STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PAST AND DEMAND MORE ORIGINALITY!!

  • goose bumps!!!!!!

  • its the ~B~E~S~T~scene from the fantastic Miami Vice ^^ luv it... thanks staschan

  • think about its the first time ever that they used real music

  • 'IT WAS REAL

  • your the best!!!

  • this video isn't just cool, it's not just the best scene on tv EVER, it's soooo mysterious.to staschan: You did a phenomenal job on this video clip.Thanks.

  • @Rhiannon18g Thanks man

  • @Rhiannon18g Thanks

  • The only negative vote must be Calderone!

  • 3:29 Wohhooooooo, Awesome Start !!

  • that song always sends chills down my spine everytime i hear it nothing like the 80's

  • Love it! Crockett, Tubbs and a little Phile Collins!

  • 2nd episode

  • an icon scene for this show. One of my favorites.

  • I remember watching this when it was first aired. I gave up going to the skating rink which was a big deal at the time. It is truly one of the greatest moments ever captured on film for TV. It moved me back then as a teenager and it still moves me today at 41. Wow I miss the 80's What an epic scene! It will never be reproduced and it will be hard pressed for any TV show to stack up ti this today.

  • Definitely the best scene TV 80's...

  • I'ts songs and tv shows like this that defined the generation!!!

  • If this show was made 20 years later he'd just make that call on his cell phone instead of looking for a phone booth :). Probably one of the best shows of the 80's.

  • Comment removed

  • Never put it together before but if Crockett hadn't stopped to call Caroline they probably would have caught Calderone. If I was Tubbs I'd be P.O.'d

  • Thanks for this clip. The quality is great

  • Coolest scene ever...

  • im wi th 25paulwalsh......what is this scene about i understand that sonny flipped out that his old partner and best friend that he trusted was part of the criminal activities but what was crocket talkin about to his x wife on the payphone what was he thinkin about

  • man this is the shit .I love this what a piece of history in tv .What a great song and tv show.I am so thankfull to have all 5 seasons to watch and a huge projector and load ass speakers for sound .Phil colins and this song this show was the greatest ever .

  • whats this scene about?

  • @25paulwalsh he flipped out that his partner that he trusted around his family was part of criminal activities i think but im lost about what he was talkin about to his wife on the payphone

  • @MrandMrsOlden He was telling caroline in his own way that he might not come back from this bust and to remember the good time they had !!!

  • @veteran1970 yes, but the main point was to see if what they had was at least the real thing, because he was so disillusioned by what had with his partner. He "needed" to something in his life was real and purposeful even if it was only one thing, so he could continue forward

  • what a show,what a show.....

  • Great clip from one of my all time favourite tv-shows. I dont think there has ever been a song in a movie or a tv-show that the music has been so spot on as it is here in this scene. The downside to it all is that watching this reminds me of how old I have become... Thank you so much for uploading.

  • love this scene!! great vid, good quality. Wirklich gut was wären

    wir ohne Miami Vice ;)

  • This isn't that great... you've got the brightness/contrast turned way too high

  • @zuiderzee I know I had to you couldnt see anything in the dark part but compared to the others I found on you tube its the best. If its really a big deal I could screw around with it more and reupload it

  • @staschan dont listen to that ingrate, best on youtube THX THX

  • @staschan if you could fix it id e really greatful dude cause this is the longest version of the scene I've found..

  • @staschan good one but it wpould be great if you could screw with and fix it cause it's got the part before which was important too... only one I saw on yotube thathas that much...

  • @zuiderzee This is the best clip of this scene that you can find on youtube so stop complaining. The quality is great.

  • @knutby Thank you man

  • @knutby du hast recht, ich liebe diese scene!! DANKE (thank you)

  • @zuiderzee

i love the fact that this person adjusted the brightness on this. i hate how everything is so damn dark whenever watching darker scenes online.

no complaints at all here! thank you staschan. great job!
