Man this Pro Tools is thin sounding garbage .... Please give it some Analog vibe... or better yet record it real time to tape... or start with a good mic great pre... and a speaker that moves back and forth... Plugins and software has come a long way since 2008... pro tools has always sounded thin... I don't practice at all and it shows in my playing, but at the same time I've never claimed to be a perfectionist or rather capable of playing perfectly.. and considering I play guitar once a week and always have done.. I think in 4 years of playing I've done pretty well.. I dislike Vai's guitar playing and he also has about 30 years on myself. and when did I say Improvisation is a bad thing? I said that I believed in making a recording in one take..
i think SilverEvolver is missing the point of what vai was showcasing.. this can make your inner creative juices flow more freely with the added(major)benifits of not loosing previous takes, thus alowing an unexpected evloution or song progression that all home / professional artists were unable to tap into without the henious costs involved with studio time.. i have also recorded with cradle of filth and believe me.. this is NOT how you become death metal.. lmao

In many cases, people who use pro tools on a PC use cracks since they can get away with it.That alone creates compatibility issues cross platform. Also, it is well known that the operating system of a pc can be flakey with drivers etc.. I've used pro tools on both a PC and a mac. I've only ever had issues (crashes, incompatibility, driver madness and the like on the PC).
Well, I would agree for Marty compared to Vai, but Cris... Marty can actually eat him alive. There is new album out there, Endgame, I did not hear anything that would caught my attention like Marty's solos.

i agree best tool for the job... but then id say 99.9% of the time ableton handles things better than pro tools the only thing it has going for it is the hardware that is built around it. same goes for logic, cubase and any other of the hundreds of daws out there... saying that there are some really fun things like renoise? which hae a completely different approach than the standard mixing desk layout.

First off dipshit, its Megadeth. Megadeath is a military term. Second off, Megadeth have had members such as Chris Poland, an already famous Jazz fusion player. Marty Friedman, widely considered by many to be one of the best guitarists in the world. Most members of Megadeth aren't only known for playing thrash. Only Dave.
Carcass pioneered two genres, grindcore and melodic death metal. Bringing the genre to fame in the 90s.
Also, I'm not entirely sure how my favored music came into this at all. You don't know fuck all about the music I listen to.
I see all your videos are you playing Steve Vai songs. Well done, for learning them, but seriously, now all you can say is that you know how to play some Steve Vai solos whereas if you took the time to look at as many different genres of music as possible you would expand your influences. Fuck, i sure know how to get the Steve Vai fans pissed off. The man is a guitarist to be sure, he has been playing for a long time and no doubt has a lot more musical knowledge than me. But the fact of the matter is i see very little skill involved in what he does, anyone can lay down a chord sequence on a loop station, hell they can even program drums and bass to make it sound better, and solo for ten minutes.
As for your accusations of me being a moron, get bent.

Carcass, they pioneered the Melodic element of Death Metal. Megadeth are the best thrash metal band around. As you may have read in one of my other comments, I like metal, hence there being metal band videos on my page. Also who the fuck cares that Steve Vai writes Symphonies, he is just extending the same shitty formula he uses for everything he records except adding one thing >chords>rhythm section>UNNECESSARY ORCHESTRA>shitty ten minute long solos.
Also Carcass&Megadeth not the same subgenre

apparently, you dont get it. I am not a MAJOR Steve Vai, nor have i ever been, but i am a fan. I have a lot of respect for the man because he made something of himself. Yes, it is true that anyone can lay down a backing track and solo, but steve vai puts a lot of feeling into his work. Its not the fact that he plays guitar that people like him, but its the style he chooses. He uses the whammy bar in a unique way, he's mastered the use of legato and tapping, and uses exotic types of guitars.

First off dipshit, its Megadeth. Megadeath is a military term. Second off, Megadeth have had members such as Chris Poland, an already famous Jazz fusion player. Marty Friedman, widely considered by many to be one of the best guitarists in the world. Most members of Megadeth aren't only known for playing thrash. Only Dave.
Carcass pioneered two genres, grindcore and melodic death metal. Bringing the genre to fame in the 90s.
