People think this is extreme, not having prepackaged food, composting for a garden, wasting as little as possible, etc... But really, this is how people lived for hundreds and hundreds of years before the 20th century. Your -grandparents- could probably tell you that this is damned closed to how they grew up. That's not that long ago. What we deem as "normal" is really what's extreme.

If our world was made up of more of the people like this, then we would be a healthy weight, a more possItive spirit and more happy with the little things in life. This family is my hero! I love the way they live and is something I plan to aspire to as well. The simplicity of their lifestyle is what appeals to me the most. And Mrs. Johnson, what an attitude she's got ! Love it! Not to mention her cute accent. The people who had negative comments to make, SHAME ON YOU! " He who lives without sin, cast the first stone." That's all I've got to say.
