Great vid, seriously, that is how you field strip a semiauto handgun. Although I would be a little more frugal with the oil. Remember that any excess will serve as a dust magnet.

Glocks are precise weapons. But what if you own a colt they dont have the same components maybe it can be opened the same way but the glock is a cheap weapon and the ur gun oil is cheap also ur asking for the glock to rust and u didnt dry it right

@superclusterfunk, u need to pull the trigger once u release the slide after holding onto the lever. The slide will automatically pop forward by half an inch when u pull the trigger.

I still can't remove the slide. Its a Glock 19, so the instructions in the video are correct. Can anyone suggest a possible fix, or something I'm missing.

I'm pulling the slide back approximately 3 MM back (per Glock Manuel) I'm pulling the lock down, and I then try pushing the slide forward, bit it does NOT move!

Is it possible for these things to become 'stuck'? I haven't cleaned it in a very long time.

@SuperClusterfunk Try checking to see if the pistol is cocked or not before you try to release the slide. Try it both ways and see if it works for you. If not, you may have other problems with the firearm.

Clearly the director likes 'em wet and dripping. That's WAY too much oil for a Glock. Inside the barrel, one drop in the rear of each slide rail groove, and a smear on the connector. Otherwise, you're just attracting sludge.

Brushing doesn't remove sludge, it just floats it. If you don't brush a rag into the crevices afterward, it will just settle right back after the solvent dries. Yes, Virginia, this is a dirty, filthy video. :-)
