Why do there have to be so many amazing metal bands???? I only have 42.8 gigs free on my iPod before I run out of space and I alrdy have 1,870 songs which is 15.2 gigs used up. Damn! I might need one of those 160 gig iPod classics.

in my opinion this is easily the greatest death metal song of all time. it has everything you could possibly want. soft opening, multiple heavy ass breakdowns, amazing solos, incredible lyrics and message, and its10 fucking minutes long. this is the most epic shit I have ever heard in my entire life.

This song redeemed Nile for me, like honestly, I never really liked the really dark and grungy sound that a lotta "death metal" bands have (old cryptopsy being an example)
was always a favorite of mine.. and apparently several people feel the same way. the opening really sets the theme for the entire band really. i listen to it on a really hot day while driving.. and im stuck in traffic.. i pretend like im floating down the nile. then the metal kicks in and its like im riding a badass motorcycle through egypt..
I prefer their early releases, find that the recent stuff sometimes lack of these dark, slow, accoustic ambiances that actually make the fast parts really brutal.

I feel fucked up sometimes for not liking BTBAM....or Black Dahlia. Or other new bands the large majority of my friends love so much. But none of them love Nile the way I do. They say it's "too dark" for their taste. I say .."Fuckin pussies." Then i realize (this might offend a few) that all new metal is for fuckin Pussies, who follow each other and never come up with anything new or original...too scared to wield the awesome unforgiving raw power Nile posesses.

@Zachdudeio2 I agree, they do have massive skill , and you don't always have to be brutal....infact thats where i feel lots of bands go wrong, they all try to "out brutalize" each other. They forget what they are playing music for. Of course you have competition in music, you must compete. But when you focus so hard on keeping up with the times, keeping up with the bands in front of you, the competition, and not enough on the music itself you can really hear the lack of soul.

Ok so people will hate what i'm going to say... I hate death metal. However! The intro to this song is amazing and some parts of the guitar is good which shows these guys have talent, but I don't understand how you can understand the lyrics and vocals?!?
Nobody should hate what you're saying - you're respecting the band, you just don't like the vocals which is perfectly understandable. I never used to like this vocal style but it really grew on me, now I prefer it to clean singing. Try to imagine this song with "normal" singing, though - it simply wouldn't sound right with the music. The vocals are incomprehendible, yes, but they just fit the music (or so I find).
Also, for some songs, these vocals just make sense. Look at Sarcophagus: The narrator/poetic voice in it is some Lovecraftian horror who's just awakened from a long sleep. A nice, human voice with an American accent would hardly be as appropriate as the deep, inhuman growling Nile used instead. Anyway ,as I said - I came to like death metal vocals after hating them, perhaps you, in time, might do the same. :3

This song redeemed Nile for me, like honestly, I never really liked the really dark and grungy sound that a lotta "death metal" bands have (old cryptopsy being an example)

was always a favorite of mine.. and apparently several people feel the same way. the opening really sets the theme for the entire band really. i listen to it on a really hot day while driving.. and im stuck in traffic.. i pretend like im floating down the nile. then the metal kicks in and its like im riding a badass motorcycle through egypt..

One of the most epic Nile's songs for sure.
I prefer their early releases, find that the recent stuff sometimes lack of these dark, slow, accoustic ambiances that actually make the fast parts really brutal.

I feel fucked up sometimes for not liking BTBAM....or Black Dahlia. Or other new bands the large majority of my friends love so much. But none of them love Nile the way I do. They say it's "too dark" for their taste. I say .."Fuckin pussies." Then i realize (this might offend a few) that all new metal is for fuckin Pussies, who follow each other and never come up with anything new or original...too scared to wield the awesome unforgiving raw power Nile posesses.

@Zachdudeio2 I agree, they do have massive skill , and you don't always have to be brutal....infact thats where i feel lots of bands go wrong, they all try to "out brutalize" each other. They forget what they are playing music for. Of course you have competition in music, you must compete. But when you focus so hard on keeping up with the times, keeping up with the bands in front of you, the competition, and not enough on the music itself you can really hear the lack of soul.

@MrMacD069 total fucking agreement. in order to really love death/black/grind or other more obscure bands, you have to love that twisted wickedness that comes complete. in order to love metal, you have to entertain the devil in your mind. and simply, children who enjoy glammy metalcore or anything with weak riffs and vocals cannot handle the dark.

Ok so people will hate what i'm going to say... I hate death metal. However! The intro to this song is amazing and some parts of the guitar is good which shows these guys have talent, but I don't understand how you can understand the lyrics and vocals?!?

Nobody should hate what you're saying - you're respecting the band, you just don't like the vocals which is perfectly understandable. I never used to like this vocal style but it really grew on me, now I prefer it to clean singing. Try to imagine this song with "normal" singing, though - it simply wouldn't sound right with the music. The vocals are incomprehendible, yes, but they just fit the music (or so I find).

Also, for some songs, these vocals just make sense. Look at Sarcophagus: The narrator/poetic voice in it is some Lovecraftian horror who's just awakened from a long sleep. A nice, human voice with an American accent would hardly be as appropriate as the deep, inhuman growling Nile used instead. Anyway ,as I said - I came to like death metal vocals after hating them, perhaps you, in time, might do the same. :3
