  • How do i start one man?! I am only 16.. and i know that i want to work for myself doing something i love. But how and where do i start?! please get back to me, thanks

  • @Lollipop6712 Excellent question.

    First, talk with your parents.

    Pick something that interests you.

Figure out who your customers will be.

Ask someone, maybe a parent, to help with your business plan.

Start your business, follow your plan, and adjust accordingly.

  • @hustn99 wicked awesome news!

  • Yep, think I'll start building some small sailboats to sell. Really like the Stevenson Weekender. Pretty boat that builds fast & sails well. Don't want to be a mechanic forever. Love building boats and am pretty fair at it. Passion, thats the secret! Right on Capt Rob. Oh yea, if it doesn't sell I'll sail it in the Texas 200, maby.

  • awesome as usual!!!! I do have my own business and i love it!!!

  • @erpie2121 Congrat's! I am glad to hear you have your own business. Awesome. :)

  • Sounds good

  • Hahahah. I am her subbie. That's how I found your channel. Its a biiiiiiiiig small world. Isn't it? Thank you. Yes. She is awesome.

  • very well said... I wish I could. just cant manage to get it going. It is hard to find a market for crafts I guess. because thats what I am passionate about. Still though... it is nice to here a positive pep talk. =0)

    Thanks for your time... =0)

  • @rewolfdliw What kind of crafts are you doing? I am planning to do a bunch of videos on the subject of starting a "home" business. So stay tuned for more!!

  • @PirateLifestyleTV Thanks for quick response. =0)

  • @rewolfdliw Awesome! You should have a look at my friend Teresa's channel. I cannot put a link in a comment. She posted one of the first comments below. Her channel is - tjw1963. Or type "crochet geek" in the search up top. She earns her living crafting. Good luck!

  • Brand new video for a brand new year :) Love the positive messages in each video... I to would love to live free of the rat race, I'm formulating ideas at the moment. Being very crafty with computers, I plan to use that to my advantage.

I would like to add a tiny feedback, the Arrrrrr's and Punch lines are great, just if you can do something of the peak levels. I watch youtube with headphones and it can be tough on the ears. :)

  • @AnalogX64 Thanks for your input. :)

Audio is definitely an issue with a low-cost video camera. The auto-gain cheap mic sucks. When I shoot outside I typically use a digital mic in my pocket. But uploading and syncing is a pain. And the other issue is making the audio loud enough for computers with lousy speakers and not blast folks with headphones.

You are correct, I should boost the lows and dim the highs to even out the audio. So once you set it, it is good for the entire video.

  • Happy New Year Captain Rob! One of my resolutions for this coming year is to devote more time to things I am passionate about. :)

  • @ashleypurrs Ahoy Ashley. I thought cats are passionate about bossing their human staff around?? :)

  • @PirateLifestyleTV Hhahahahaha!!! This is very true!!! :D

  • Arrrrrrrr Captain Rob. Ye are the captain of yer ship, the master of yer mind! I have been self-employed for 25 years and I'm lovin it!!! Thanks for the great video and fer keeping me sails in the wind! Arrrrrrrrr

  • @jdhart2000 Ahoy JD, Happy New Year! Congrat's on the 25 years of self-employment.

  • 10 years ago I was in the middle of my college work as an adult college student. We had to take this course related to Entrepreneurship. I thought that class was the biggest waste of time because I had no plans on starting my own business or being self employed. Four years after I graduated with my degree, I started my own business and became self employed. It is the best job especially on those days that you feel like staying in your pj's.

  • @tjw1963 Teresa, well said! Non-believers will say you need to separate work and home, but if you LOVE your home-work it isn't an issue. :)

  • Great Video! The only improvement I would make to your videos is dont treat your audience like babies like when you say 'the most important thing to do is have... FUUUUUUUUNNNNNN.....!

It gets annoying but just some little feedback otherwise great!

  • @techbannana Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate all suggestions.

  • Great video again , Happy New Year to you:)

  • @BuschTukkerMan Ahoy Busch. I'm glad you liked this video! I am going to do a bunch on this subject, as it is sooo important.
