  • khampa jewelry is awesome awesome awesome. I can't get enough of these beautiful girls covered in precious jewels :) lovely

  • Love these breathtaking costumes!!! The men and women look stunning decorated with so much treasure. Especially the women, they are so gorgeous with the many necklaces and jewels in their hair. I am fascinated by these costumes, I love the amulets that hang from the waist and the hands decorated with gold. Please tell us more about them. What do Tibetans think about these costumes? When do they wear them? How many Tibetans have this kind of treasure?

  • The Chinese also have a beautiful culture but 60 years of Party rule has destroyed much of it. And during those 60 years the Party has tried to wipe out Tibetan culture and totally assimilate Tibet to China. It has not succeeded.

  • I LOVE TIBETAN PEOPLE OHIO U.S.A.

  • best dress at 1:06

  • Is there anywhere online with more info on these costumes or the King Gesar arts festival? Any more photos or video anywhere?

  • Great! More important is at least you support your culture in YT. Have a beautiful day!..Catch ya later...Ciao! ;)

  • WOW! I wonder if it's very heavy and hot underneath all those so called dresses? Just curious!

  • I doubt it, Tibet's a cold region w/ winter being sub zero climate.

  • Hi ikhamo! Being Tibetan do you have a dress like that of your own?

  • Yeah, but nothing fancy like that :) Yet!

  • i think the inca must be related to the tibetan pples...not sure. the way i see both dress r the same. must come from the same ancestor.

  • @fumanchu5000

You never know,it is hard to tell, cause Tibetan people are much taller than South American Indians,i see more a relation with the North American Indians.

I visit Tibet two times ,but never saw Tibetan with so much jewellery, this video is very special and wonder in what season and place in Tibet they show so much jewellery .

  • @villinnes

It's in Kham and Amdo regions, a lot of people there put their life savings into jewelry, and often wear all their jewelry on special days like weddings and festivals. Try googling or looking on Flickr for Litang Horse Festival or Yushu Horse Festival or Khampa Arts Festival, there are these shows there. The jewelry of people in those regions is so impressive and beautiful.

  • @kabukicho8132

Indeed, the jewellery looks colorful, impressive and beautiful.

Thank you for the good information,i hope once i can see it in real!

  • 見識了

  • damn.. TIBET is sure RICH... loving the ornaments and the chupas.....

  • there all wonderful!

  • There is a resemblence with inca culture, probably reminiscent from ancient world, before the flood.

  • yeah.there is!

  • @IuliTr85 "There is a resemblence with inca culture, probably reminiscent from ancient world, before the flood."

Tibetan religion and culture bear a remarkable resemblance to Southwestern American Indian - the Pueblo tribes: Navajo, Zuni, Hopi. Compare sand paintings. And, yes! - their jewelry, clothing, etc. It's believed that there is indeed a collective consciousness.

  • Long long ago we migrated from Tibet to down stream ,but so far I felt as my relative place, the Great Tibet, my most beloved world!I hate china Gov who still want to hide the great history of Tibet and only the chinese alone greatest in China and pretended as they are the most ancient in the China!! ha ha,, so funny man, now all become have ears , eye pairs, pls be honest to the world! be fair and should be respect to all people who live in China except Chinese.

  • I bet mynwyn must be a betrayer of china just as many of those who hate china on all aspects, I hope you all post your political options to the forums for politics, we are here to enjoy real music.

  • 藏人的服饰实在是漂亮!。

  • Tibetian and Nepali Himali people are the same people.

  • lol, nice imagination!

  • These ethnic Tibetan people are happy in China. I bet you'd be happy too, if you get a Chinese passport and move to Tibetan Autonamous Region.

  • you really mean that huh?

so you are comfortable with racial mixing then?

  • so?

chinese do not feel manchurian or mongolian either

  • Dear chinese bro/siss

We Tibetans never feel as a Chinese or same country.

    since 1000000 years..............

    sorrry china.....................

ask any Tibetans in Tibet or outside Tibet..

  • Ok westerner!!! nice try, your making yourself and your country look stupid POSER.

Try looking after western atrosities first what you can fix instead of focusing your time in another country...

  • Awesome collection ! The costumes r gr8 n wow! wow! Check out the ornaments..............tibet is really a rich country , no wonder china is plundering it 2 da hilt in da name of developement( actually self). Lets keep da aspiration and truth alive......Free Tibet!!!! Keep up da gud work!!!

Feels really gud ! The originality shows!!!

  • Free Tibet. tehhee tibetan fashion show :P

  • 鸡排汇物

  • After the show and the tourists are gone, everthing goes back into the box for safekeeping by the Han Communists. Tibetans own everything but Tibet and its contents. For those propaganda officers out there, that means they own nothing. Another slick Chinese production. FREE TIBET. Boycott Wal-Mart.

  • tibet is part was part and always will be a part of china,

  • Later Chinese are part of Other people in China and definitely Chinese will be lost their chair soon because of unfair ruling.

  • these ppl are bling bling!feel like amdos always wear heavy jewelry

  • Tibet or not Tibet, that is the question.... gulp!

  • name of artist and song please?

  • singer - Norsang from East Tibet

  • thanks, you wouldn't happen to know the title aswell?

  • You're welcome. If I find out the title, I will post it for you.

  • Hullo tibetan brothers. Be content with the benefits and peaceful environment that you all have presently.

I love tibetan culture (esp. tibetan songs and dances) but not the religious dogma. Future success in preservation and promotion of tibetan culture will depend on tibetan own efforts and ingenuity. Don't be too eager to always blame others for one's own failure.

  • Hello, Dear tibetans,Visit my page and you will see some particular channels. If you have time to write something against CCP or Its puppets, who are full of You tube and writing disgusting things about us Tibetans. It is time to stand up and say some thing!!!I guess some of you are too compassionate and too kind to write anything opposing chinese. Its ok,we can not go to the battle field to face the hinese, but You tube is a safe place to write snaything.I thank those strangers who support us.

  • 吮我的陰莖

  • You are a disgrace for using Chinese to post offensive comments. Chinese are peace love people. You are worthless piece of sh**t.

  • Beautiful customes; quite elaborate. Interesting song also, somehow there is similarity to the Mongolian singing. Wonder why?

  • 仙音處處...

  • 悠揚優雅,好過西方露臀露股...露胸,差一點不露。

  • This is real and native song of Tibet, Great!

  • The costumes appear to be Khampa style indeed, but the show took place in Amdo. It was the first King Gesar's Art Festival held in Dawu, Golok, Qinghai, the heartland of the Amdo Region. The time was 2001. After His Holiness's preaching in 2005, this kind of fur-decorated robes have virtually disappeared from scenes like this. Just some info.

  • Love this guys voice and the video!

  • Is it kind of heavy to wear all that stuff? Nice outfits though!

  • he is singing with joy in praise of their cool hat, dress, rings, belt, shoes, etc.

  • I agree the show looks very nice. Sadly, this type of cultural performance is in danger of extinction because of dalai's genocide of Khampa and Tibetan culture.

  • great song Norsang. Losar tashi shuk

  • This is a cultural festival show in Kham. The models from Kham come out in full regalia of ornaments and dress for the majestic show. Swashbucklingly awesome!

  • Could some1 translate this song ? haha funny song!

  • Well little bit too much :)

  • In holland we also don't wear wooden shoes .

beautiful tradition , keep your roots dont let anybody take it away

  • the people in tib et aren t dressed enimore like that that was like 100 years ago :)thay are dressed like jeans and tibetan shirt in that

  • It seems to be very expensive... they have a special design stile, I cannot imagine all the people can dress temselves like this, so rich, but it is interesting!

  • Very different from the Tibetans I know, these dress like a banana.

  • LOL bananas. Actually I think Khampa dresses are beautiful. In Chinese view, Khampas are famous as fearsome men that carried big knives and wore a lot of fur. Very different from Tibetans from Tibet who were seen as just former slaves. It is a shame though that dalai wants Tibetans to stop wearing animal skin. He wants to genocide wonderful Khampa culture!

  • Ignore this yamakalden trying to divide Tibetans. Mao and CCP failed and you are just a small imperialist hanger-on in the 21st century.

  • huh? You obviously don't know much about anything. CCP always tried to unite Tibetans as one but there are certain Tibetan groups that fight against it. For instance, in the past some eastern Tibetans petition the gov't for their own seperate ethnic group but CCP reject the idea. Even today there's still Tibetans want to break away from "Tibetan" identity.

So really, your statement about CCP trying to divide Tibetans is plain stupid.

  • Also, wearing fur is part of Tibetan culture. Why don't you critize Dalai for following orders from his western bosses to stop wearing fur?

  • The Dalai Lama appealed against wearing fur because the tiger population in India and other Asian countries are being threatened. He does not take orders from any one. You Chinese are the best in taking orders!

  • no Dalai is anti-fur because Western animal rights activist put pressure on him. And since he gets all his money from the west, well, you know he cannot disobey...

  • what evidence do you have to proof all this? lay your cards on the table rather than make these wild assertions.

  • It is just my opinion. you see, Dalai Clique has built an image of Tibetans as peace loving buddhists, buddhists who don't like to kill any living creatures. However, pictures of Tibetans wearing fur ruins this myths. So, when the Clique

  • cont.. goes to the west to beg for money, they need to keep up the image of "peaceful" Tibetans to get more naive westerners money.

    It just my opinion.

  • Imperialist opinion if you ask me! Jealous aren't you. Especially when China is seen to be authoritarian at home and in bed with genocidal/despotic regimes abroad. Hey, did you hear about Steven Spielberg's slap on your imperialist regime's face?

  • Yeah, I'm jealous lol. Hey dumbass, you keep changing the subject and now you talk about Spielberg. What does he have to do with fur and Dalai's genocide of Tibetan culture?

  • You can't keep track of your own arguments? Bitch!

  • Spielberg want to kill Tibetan culture with western movies.

Talking about Genocide, it is a joke.

  • since when do you care about evidence?

  • Wearing fur in Tibetan tradition is like spitting in Chinese culture. Just as your government is conducting anti-spitting campaigns in Beijing before the olympics, we Tibetans need to adapt. But it is none of your business. Why are you here anyway? Don't you have any good Chinese music to enjoy? Did Mao destroy everything?

  • well you replied to my comment so that's why I'm here hehe.

  • Why you listening to Tibetan music any way? Bitch!

  • I listen to all types of Chinese music, including ethnic Tibetan music hehe.

  • Give specific examples. Just in TAR, Mao and CCP tried to divide Tibetans into Panchen Lama faction, Dalai Lama faction and Chamdo faction. They also tried to use Eastern Tibetans against Central and Western Tibetans. They found some collaborators but in the end failed desperately as the Eastern Tibetans rose up in violent rebellion and the Panchen Lama championed Tibetan rights in the absence of the Dalai Lama.

  • Is this information from Dharamsala history class? Seriously I don't know anything about it.

    Examples, Baima and Ersu

  • Is this information from CCP history classes? That's because of CCP/Chinese policies. What about the Pumi=Tibetan person who were not happy about being classified as not Tibetan?

  • How do you know Pumi want to be under Tibetan label? Did you ask them lol? You don't just expect me to believe in what say, do you?

  • LOL..pumi/bhoemi means (people of tibet).but i guess you dont know tibetan.its like saying indian(people of india).

  • If they do not feel Tibetan, then they are clearly not Tibetan. The CCP should release them from this forced bondage to a Tibetan identity. At the same time, Tibetans should be given the right to self-determination.

  • love tibet and this video but the ornaments are way too much..

  • its a cultural festival hence the ornaments

  • the voice sounds like that of famous singer Norsang from kham tibet.

  • I like the style - all can exist at the same time

  • free tibet!

  • This is a political show on Tibet. Not in reality show about Tibet.

  • This is little too much!

  • We Tibetans are no more intersting this kind of dress, becase we are already awake from the deep sleeping.

  • Wow, they look like the Gurkahs over the mountain! Finally a video where I can easily ID the tongue as Tibetan..... Although I've never heard of such kind of a song.

  • I LOVE IT!!!!! there's no words to describe our rich unique culture and tradition!! no doubt! we're simply the richest at heart! :)

  • that it's sung in tibetan.

  • what's tibetan???

  • wonderfull!

  • A culture does not change with fasion and time otherwise the culture dies at some point. The dresses and jewellary in this vides should be taken as heritage and these are worn on occasions specific to that culture. On normal occasions, the ornaments are a bit less.

  • Wow,I like the song very much too.

  • I like the song any way. It reveals the free-spiritedness of the Tibetans. I can imagine myself singing this song on top of a mountain in our beloved country.

  • these clothes reminds me of south american incas clothes.

  • Tibetans already abandoned this kind of dress becase it need lot of animal skin. No body wears such thing now.

  • Dalai is now anti-fur because his Western bosses are against fur. He knows who pays his salary.

  • Great song and music. I love tibet and tibetan culture, I only hope they do not promote the use of animal skins. Specially the endangered ones. I am also sure that Tibet oneday will be free.

  • magnificient!

  • How splendid!

  • Jigdo la, I don't mean to disrespect your video but I think those excessive jewelries aren't impressive at all--quite unfashionable in both appearance & times.

  • Ceremonial dress, only for special occasions.

  • look really heavy.
