  • this is the only song that i know all the words to. the only one out of millions i got crawlin around up here in my head so that's got to tell you something

  • i am the lizard king i can do anything

  • Love to hear this with Lanegan on vocals.

  • Didnt sound that bad. there could of been better sound quality though.

  • "I am the Desert King... I can do anything!"

  • @troyrkd Lizard King,

  • @tylerml A play on words fitting for Josh Homme. Nothing gets by you, does it?

  • where is josh's hair?

  • @trexIII000 He shaved it off as it was a benefit after Natasha died of cancer.

  • OMG Dean Fertita playing one of the greatest organ songs!!!

  • jim is ETERNAL

  • I love you jim morrison, thanks for everything

  • Pretty good....pretty neat....

  • This is absolutely great! I'd really like to hear this song as a future b-side. Love it!

  • *-* this version is perfect and absolutely identical! Jim Morrison would be enjoy this!

  • josh homme doing the work of jim morrsion makes me happy that we could have such great musicans like them.

  • cant beat the real version

  • I love this song. It may be a song of the Doors, but if you told me five years ago it's Qotsa, I'd believe you, exept the voice of Morrisson ofcourse.

  • One of my favorite bands are covering a song from another favorite band of mine, that's aweome!

  • Nah I'm not convinced...Still a nice cover though.... I just think he doesn't have the voice or stage presance to pull this off.... Jim is a legend.. In 10 - 20 years these guys will be forgot about exept by their die hard fans...Why??? Because QOTSA arn't innovative enough.. they arn't doing anything that Soundgarden and Alice in Chains have already done.....

  • @glamdog69 I can understand you don't like their version but to say they ain't innovative enough in what they do is just wrong. To claim Josh Homme's work will be forgot in 20 years is equal to say Hitler celebrated his Bar Mitzvah at a young age.

  • @Papatorrejano I don't think they will be forgotten, I think they will have maybe a cult following consisting of a minority of people.. they just ain't in the same league as the Doors, Led Zep, Black Sabbath, ect who for certain will be remembered down the line because they are legendary Immortal bands.. QOTSA are a now band that will eventually fade away and make way for the next big thing, which will also fade away.. it's just how things work now I'm afraid...

  • @glamdog69 Nobody said they were in the same league as those acts. I'm sure the members of Qotsa would be the first to say so. Just tributing great bands. They also covered Cream's "I Feel Free" at this gig, featuring Teenacious D. And given the reaction of the crowd which can be heard in the bootleg they did surprise the audience with those versions.

  • @Papatorrejano I'm not questioning their talent, i think they are VERY talented.. I'm just saying they are a flash in the pan and 50 years down the line there will only be a minority that remembers them..

  • @glamdog69 you have NO idea how wrong you are hahahaha, josh homme is among the greatest musical minds of our time. and people will only really start to realize once he is gone.

  • @TakeItBrendanLSD I couldn't agree more, fuck anyone who doesn't. I love QOTSA and Josh sooooo hard, I almost don't want anyone else to hear them, if you know what I mean.

  • @karavulgaris I think everyone should hear them, just not on the fuckin radio

  • @glamdog69 Flash in the pan I think not, they've been around for over 10 years. QOTSA and Josh have a HUGE fan base. 50 years from now they will probably have the same fans. You must be one of those people who likes the radio and (vomit) Nickelback.

  • @karavulgaris I can't stand Nickelback.. or any new music to be honest.. I do have some integrity come on.. hehe I suppose some of it is ok.. Of course they have a huge fanbase, they are popular right now but lets face it it is bands like Led Zep and The Stones who will be remembered by the majority.. look at bands like Pearl jam and Soundgarden, I bet if you asked kids about those bands they probably havn't heard of them... The same will happen to QOTSA also...

  • @glamdog69 i wouldn't agree with you, beacause those kids you refer to don't know who led zep are,so,probably they wouldn't know who pearl jam or soundgarden are.if you're in to it,you know if not...well..

  • @kali524 Come on most people know who Led Zep are :)

  • @glamdog69 LOL not innovative enough? Okay.....I disagree, and I'm sure many others would disagree with me. How do you compare QOTSA to Soundgarden and Alice in Chains??

  • What a view you had of this incredible gig... I wonder if a release will ever see the light of day. Beautiful from start to finish.

  • listening to this literally made me tingle hahah. FML.

  • hate his voice, but whatever. This would probably be cool to see live, wish you could hear the guitar and keys better since the chaotic ending is the highlight of the song.

  • last thing i ever thought id see. love em both to death!

  • if only the sound quality was a bit better i would have enjoyed listening to this.

  • such a good cover. fuck

  • the doors version is way better but wow this is a great cover

i thought it was gonna be shit its a very hard song 2 pull off

  • I agree with 01Erlck01... the Doors original is better, but this is still really good. I'm really surprised. I don't really know a lot of QotSA but this will make me want to give them a chance.

  • Why!

  • i dont particularly like the vocals but the drumming is kickass, and what i can hear of the guitar is pretty good too. good cover overall.

  • Why is there no studio version of this?!? This is awesome!!! Love The Doors version, but this is wicked in its own right!

  • what about kyuss??

  • Comment removed

  • As said, if anyone could get close to Jim Morrison, then it must be Josh Homme. Same goes for the doors-qotsa. Versatile beyond explaination - just like the Doors. Both absolute masters of their own, individual crafts. Unlike any other. Harder to do anything original though these days I would say. The Doors were unique for their time. Unique and perfectly dark. I reckon QOTSA are the modern day equivalent. Dark as hell and totally unique from anything else out there. Fucking brilliant!!!

  • @Son7Sam666 Scot Weiland got pretty damn close to Jim Morrison

  • @Son7Sam666 what do you think bout scott weiland? (stp, velvet revolver)

  • I like more the original version of The Doors but this cover is really good the legacy of The Doors is here rocking with all the power like in the 60 's!!!!!!! The Doors the best band of all times!!!!!

  • nice, really

  • Newfound respect for Queens Of The Stone Age! Great cover of a mostly forgotten Doors jam

  • im so fucking happy right now. homme is the only man besides layne staley i ever want to touch a doors song. 5 fucking stars i wouldve sold my soul to be there

  • So true man. Homme and Staley are gods.

  • the quality is really amazing!!!!!!

  • modern day morrison

  • I was there

    Love

    K15

  • The Doors are immortal...

  • Josh is the Desert King or better the Palm Desert Spring King :) I love his stile.Anyway this cover is amazing love The Doors and QOTSA too.

  • He is the Desert King but not the Lizard King. This is a really good cover and I don't think any other band could pull off this song. Queens of the Stone Age are amazing but they are not the Doors. Although they did this song very well, they could never do it as well as The Doors

  • C'est la même que les doors, mais en moins bien...

  • Did anyone else here Homme say that he is the Desert King?

    Fucking amazing!

  • Best Doors song

  • Tits!

  • fuckin' rad!!!!

  • awesome song and band

  • awesome

  • Monkey!

  • OH MY GOD! Searching this song, my favourite Doors song, wanted to see a live version, and found it by my favourite band! thank you

  • meravigliosa cover!!! sono incredibili!!

  • that was awesome!

  • awesome cover!

  • Agreed.

  • fuck yea qotsa!

  • nice doors cover :)

    RIP JIM

  • i love how awkward josh looks without a guitar.

out of all the gigs i wish i'd been to, this has got to be at the top. wow. what a bittersweet moment, such a shame that it came about because of the death of natasha shneider, but wow... does anyone have a full version of rickshaw from this gig? ack, i come just thinking about it.

  • there really needs to be a dvd of this show.

  • Agree on 300%

I am speechless.. To think about what happened that night almost brings tears to my eyes. Just one word; love.

  • IMO that night contained many great live versions of their catalogue and this as a bonus.

  • they should do a studio recording of this. this cover is awesome. favorite doors song.

  • awesome

    fucking awesome

  • hell yeah, go Castillo!

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrr

  • this is insane - is there anything better - sittin´ here - watching this - mouth wide open

  • good

  • RIP Natasha.

  • I would pay album price to hear this song studio recorded or even better audio so we could hear more..favorite doors song. Favorite band.

Why didn't I just max out my credit card to go to this show..fuck. lol

  • Josh singin this=Sexxxxxxxy x10

  • WOW i´m really amazed this is so cool.

    I love the Doors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cool cover

  • prefer to hear this piece with keyboard, but QOTSA can make it work..i guess

  • There is a keyboard actually I just think you can't hear it that well because of the poor audio but still this is a fantastic cover of one of the greatest bands ever by a very cool band.

  • JESUS CHRIST - I LOVE THE DOORS AND QOTSA- I am ready to faint with delight. Josh Homme doing Jim Morrison - all my dreams have finally come true!!!! I still can't believe it (faints)

  • Fuckin' cool.

  • Awesome!

  • holy shit... is all i can say

  • This was an incredible show. I was blown away by this cover of the Doors. Seen this band many of times and this was a nice treat.

  • I really wish I could've seen this. One of my favourite Doors songs being played by probably my favourite band.

  • nice! thnx

  • my favorite doors song, awesome!

  • Xmas and my birthday at the same time, really, my favourite band of the 00's covering my favourite song from my favourite band before I got into QOTSA... The brain is melting...

  • I feel exactly the same way. When i first heard this I had one of those "Is this a dream?" experiences.

  • great!!

but unusual to see josh playing no instrument :P

  • Good fuckin job guys, nicely done :)

  • hopefully they will play this song more often

  • That was epic, mystical and unforgetable

    Fuckin great job by all

    thank you, Josh
