i forgot all about this show but watching the pilot i finally remembered it its really ironic that the message in these shows still holds today to bad kids will or won't get this message
I don't get it.. I personally think Good Times was just as real as South Central but they kept Good times on the air for a long time so why not this show??
This part of the episode is pivotal. It' is ALWAYS important for a woman to have a girlfriend that she can rely on or somewhere to go where they can vent their frustrations. IDK what it was like growing up in South Central back in the early 90's, but I can only imagine what Joan went through on this show. The hurt and tears were so honest. This show moves you to where you BELIEVE what is happening, especially if it something you yourself has experienced. thanks BROWNsuga!!!
wow i really liked this show when i was a kid - it was so real..i knew so many families that were in that same situation - including mine..thx for posting
i remember this show then canceled it cause they said it was to close to reality and TV wasn't ready for it. Funny thing is now we are all watching more and more reality shows .....
damn brownsugar... i wanted to say thanks for putting up this show....it reminds me of how sitcoms was back then during my time. and how much bullshit it is on the tv now. much respect.
I wish I was older when this show came out so I could appreciate it better, like I do now. Black people don't like their dirty laundry to be aired but sometimes it's a must to open peoples eyes to what's going on.
i always liked "black people" sitcoms cause they had alot of humor and at the same time alot of message. this is a good show, but probably didnt sell as well as they wanted, TV is all about money, devils pen.
Wow, I never saw this episode before while it was airing on TV. I think this is the only one I missed. We used to have pretty much all of the episodes on tape.
SOUTH CENTRAL was one on the most cutting edge shows of our time. This was too real for Fox back then. I believe the network casted actors and also minpulated scripts out of the reality of South Central LA so that Inner City African American culture could be exploited on national platform. They figured if they could spread this message on the biggest brainwashing medium ever known as televison, that we would all follw and act the same way where we we're living. Keep ya third eye wide! Eeeee!
I agree, but the show was " real ". Good actors / good looking cast, and sincerity in the script. No cooning, shucking, and jiving. And it dealt with real issues
First time watching this show and I love it already especially the jazz music in the background. It really makes you feel the dramatic sad situation the family is going through.
thank you for posting this show it was real but america will always be afraid of real they would rather accept fake.where did you find this if you don't mind me asking
You're welcome, you know America's version of real these days is reality tv. This came from my own personal archives, check back later for more episodes.
