i was looking through series intros when i seen the intro to this! never seen or heard of the "Equalizer! i now have all 4 series on DVD lol Mccall is the man!!
the equalizer the best show ever a true gentleman , no other show comes remotely close , god bless you edward woodward rip . gone but never forgotten.
Breakpoint was the forerunner of Diehard, I read that Edward was a sanitation engineer early on so when he rammed that shithouse handle up that guy's throat, ROCK ON !
I love it how the guy in the loo drops dead because an inch of a screw was shoved under his chin (especially when the Equalizer's supposed to be this super deadly agent type whou probably should be able to kill with his bare hands...). But I do love the Equalizer - it's just the whole style of the series from the colours to the music. Excellent stuff.
No No No you just dont get it it wouldnt be ingenious if he just used his hand. The whole point is how he so cleverly kept talking as he devised deadly weapon out of seemingly nothing. Though Im unsure how this would have killed the man, right enough.
Don't know if you ever saw a comedy show skit about The Equalizer (can't remember who the comedian was), where the crucial use of force was MacCall shouting: "Stop, or I'll talk!" - very funny. I also laughed heartily at Mad Magazine's spoof on the show. But that's just how unreserved my love for this show is! :D
I'm sure if someone shoved an inch screw with a handle attached to it really hard I'd think you die. It had the element of surprise with very little noise to arouse suspicion and it was quick. Game over for the bad guy. Remember The Equalizer was also a thinking man's show :)
@LaughinLlama I think the screw was supposed to have gone into his neck but it would have been too graphic to show that as the frame cuts out most of Woodward's hand. But from the angle it looks more like he thrust it forward at where the neck joins the jawline.

I like how Mickey seems so disappointed that he only got to kill one person lol.

Awesome show back in the day--still holds up. Have season 1--probably die before they release the rest. Waiting for my pirated seasons.

McCall could live in the roughest part of town. NOBODY would touch him or any of his property. Nobody would DARE.

Monk, plays the head terrorist, and i guess the casting department thought his accent here, was perfect for antonio scarpacci as well!

Love the fact that Mickey saved McCall's skin, but McCall still has a go at him for not using the correct entrance!

It may look ridiculous, that a tiny screw could kill him. But,the shot only shows under his chin...it could be in his throat.BOOM,no more air?..see ya

I kind of used my imagination and figured he shoved it into his jugular.. and then washed his hands real good before leaving :)
