  • that was AGES ago,

  • Loved this programme when i was a kid because it was on on a friday it just ended the school week for me.

  • @leetonosaki-Haha me too,Fun house was the end of the week treat for me after school.

  • They should do a TV show where fat kids have to box each other in a car park and the winner gets a football and a slice of cake.

  • For the 90s

  • i rember this very well live round the corner from pat sharp and m8 does too!!quality tv !!and looney tunes rood runner!!wylie coyotie pure genius!!

  • brilliant quality

  • Prizes Are Not bad for the nineties,........

  • Good video. ''Fun House'' was one of CITV's longest running shows, as I think it ran from 1989 - 1998. But at least by 1996, Pat Sharp had cut his mullet off! Also, is that Matt Littler (from ''Hollyoaks'') at around 6:50 in the trailer for ''The Ward''? It certainly looks like him!...

  • 1989 - 1999

The final few series got dismal ratings

  • Few series? You said at one point that the 1998 series ratings were very good.

  • Well I think the 1998 series was good to begin with, but then slipped rather quickly. I think sliding ratings were the reasons for the changes made to the series within the final few series

  • Because at one point, Fun Huse was recieving 8 milion viewers per episode. That is surely the highest rating for a kids show in the UK.

  • Well one of the highest - probably the highest for a kids show shown during "kids programmes time". I think Worzel Gummidge used to get around 10 million viewers, but that was an ITV (Southern TV) kids show that was shown at about 5:15 on Sunday (later, Saturday) nights.

I think the peak of Fun House came in the early 90s, but like many TV shows, it passsed it's "sell by date" and the viewers got bored of it. and looking at those clips from 1989 episodes recently uploaded it's not surprising :)

  • Shame. It should be brought back, but it is unlikely with all the health and safety,

  • and as I'm a Doctor Who fan, I remember that some episodes of the original series got higher than that (16 million for a 1979 episod - City of Death - although that was tyransmitted during the ITV strike of that year), although whether Doctor Who actually classes as a kids TV show is debatable.

  • Is Dr Who a kids show? I am not sure if it is?

Anyway, I was wondering if you know the reason why kids couldn't apply to go on Fun House and that STV had to visits schools to find contestants? It is just that i find it supprising that Headteachers will allow this.

  • Well whether it is or not is debatable. I already said that.

The BBC Drama Depratment said it is a kids show, yet the BBC also say that anything not made by the Children's Department is not a children's programme.

I think it's because it would be more interesting if both kids came from the same school. And why wouldn't a headteacher want to have kids from their school as contestants on a game show?

  • Yeah it should be brought back but they shouldnt try to modenise it otherwise it will just be boring like the new version of gladiators that only lasted 2 years.

  • Its a shame but some moronic tv exec will insist on it being modernized if it is made again.

  • @leetonosaki-I hope not, and i hope Pat Sharp and those two hot school girls Melanie and Martina are back or another sexy equivalent to them at least!

  • @leetonosaki: This show would be an elf and safety nightmare if it was to come back today. A pity :(

  • I only found out about dragon boating two years ago and I'm near 30!

  • i have all ready taped fun house this morning on challenge tv this morning i love you pat sharp from gemma

  • Fantastic, thank you for sharing!

  • I just remember having a huge crush on Mel and Martina ;)

  • Name a Watersport? LOL

    Such a good show.

  • lmao i remember this when i was younger !

  • I remeber when that first started, Melanie and Martina brought on early pubarty for me lol.

    what happened to those girls??

  • one became a receptionist and the other became a waitress (according to digitalspy)

  • Melanie and Martina are now in Eastenders.......No not Roni and Roxy, they are Pat and Big Mo!!!!Oh they joys of tv

  • Where did you hear that?

  • i feel sorry for the guys hu had to clean up the confetti and reset the house for the next recording

  • It is a sport. It does count. There is even a National Governing body and a Great British team for it.

  • good old kids tv in the 90's. u couldn't beat it

  • Why did they keep ignoring the green token at 3:27?

  • They were only allowed 3 tokens per run.

  • Oh ok, it was probably a rubbish prize too :)

  • Yeh it was a Fishing Set...lol

  • wooo

  • I remember this episode and the games played.

  • What game were played then? :)

  • The 1st game was a girls game, they had to go into a persons body and dig out as many intestines as possible and then dip them into gunge and put it round their neck. The 2nd game was a boys game, they had to dive into a swimming pool and collect tray of food for a flight and put them into their team holder. The final doubles game was that they were in a shopping torrley and had to collect as many birds nest as possible and put them in a sack.

  • Sorry, my wireless keyboard was being retarded. That was meant to say "Although, in May, Sky channel Challenge are going to repeat the1996 series, their first screening of FH), so you will be able to watch this whole episode again!
