  • The drummer is my milkman.

  • its similar to Love and Rockets but has more energy.. loved this generation of music

  • The bassit is of no realtion to me at all.

  • They were never big because most of their brilliant live sound was ruined by over production in the studio and plodding tempo. Black Tattoo is the only track which truely captures their spirit live...

  • Back then he could be brother's with Daniel Ash.

  • @poopapie They are really similar

  • An old college friend of mine who moved up to the midlands back in 85/86 got me into FFL and I still have a few vinyls from back then I dig out occasionally to reminisce! Can't understand why they weren't huge! Top, top band!!!!

  • i followed them for 2 years and was at this gig, brilliant band , the first lp is superb, im the bloke in the sisters of mercy t shirt, flesh for lulu were a superb band up until the idol single, awesome awesome gigs x

  • @keeef67 You lucky bastard! I wouldve done anything to be there man. Cheers from out here in Cali.

  • crap i go crazy is better

  • echo and the bunnymen

  • I'm pretty sure I saw another song from this concert on Night Flight many years back, if anyone remembers that. I think it might have been "Cat Burglar"--hard to remember. I like this a lot better than "I Go Crazy" and all of that.

  • Saw FFL with March Violets at Fenders in Long Beach, CA in 1986....amazing show. Both the Violets and FFL brought it that night...I cant pick a winner except for those that had the chance to be in the audience. It always amazed me at how readily the Goths embraced FFL however I do admit they expertly straddled that thin line between Batcave and New York Dolls which made them hard to classify..

  • @AdamCoffin13

Anything specific stand out about that gig? Did MV perform Love In A Nightmare? I know it was a long time ago, but still curious if you'd remember.

  • The drummer is one of my uncles!

  • The singer is my Aunt!!

  • I' m serious.

  • So am I

  • This was a a really great, classy, soulful pop tune on record, with backing singers and cellos and the b-side was the DEFINITIVE version of 'Cat Burglar' with the most delicous, crunchy sounding guitars. Their Polydor output is still my favourite stuff.

  • cant go wrong with members of specimen and wasted youth! long live da flesh!!

  • God I fucking LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Flesh for Lulu!!! I had the GREAT PLEASURE of seeing them live with Gene Loves Yezebel ( on a double bill back in early '88!!! )... They were TERRIFIC and I got to stand pretty close to the stage so I had a great spot and all those boys ( in both bands ) were SEXIER than fuck!!! My God!! Nick Marsh could be fucking related to Danny Ash ( from Love & Rockets, another band I've seen live back in the '80's too and totally WORSHIP!!!) I'm a fucking ANGLO-PHILE!!!

  • why on earth is this considered goth?

  • They lived together with a load of other bands who all got bookings together, they just ended up in that slot by accident but were always more glam, though Roman Candle EP is pretty nasty ;)

  • @slumpytube any chance you would have Roman Candle as an mp3?Been looking for that for years...as well as "Power of Suggestion"..Maybe a B side?

  • Bercause it is !!!! Next Question!!!

  • Wow! Well...hmm...well...since it IS "BeRcause" - no more questions. God forbid! Or else the answer to the next question might start with "Wha? Bother you?":):):) Children, children, for fuck sake... Can't you play nice? For all the shite you're fighting over ain't worth shite?:) For FFL is loveRly, and the rest (goth and other wanky nonsense) doesn't matter for shite:)

  • WOW!! This TOTALY takes me back to the 80s

I heard about 4 songs on the radio KCGL in the 80s in Utah, My wife's Name is

Lu Lu , I played this to her now she really loves this band. FFL never came to Salt Lake.

  • Hey, I remember KCGL. Yes I am that old. I miss the 80's so much. It was the best time for music ever.

  • Takes me back, i sure i'm down the front there somewhere. used to go to every gig unti 86 ended up running them around a couple of times when they didn't have transport. Wicked!

  • Охуительно, и всегда было охуительно!!!

  • met these punks at "The Heathery" in Wishaw Scotland way back. Nice blokes. Seen Bekky Bondage there too. A great venue. Great times. Nothing like it anymore. Anyone else remember the Heathery?

  • Thanks so much for this!

  • this is what the kids want - more of the early stuff. anyone remember a flesh gig at the hammy palais with lords of the new church, alien sex fiend and the 20 flight rockers. what a night.
