  • @golliepag Nope baking soda and vinegar creates CO2 but aluminium and toilet cleaner creats hydrogen

  • Friggn gangstas.LOL,Tks. for your video posts.

  • Good.You did flame it.

  • works with "the works" brand toilet cleaner, found at the dollar store, and some aluminum foil.

  • you put baking soda in it

  • why not just pop the balloon instead of lighting it? hydrogen is highly reactive with oxygen

  • We used drain-0 and alu. foil. and filled a lot of ballons at a party! a brick of black cats and some rocket wick, with a m80 at the top near the ballons. dubed the cop free fireworks display. tied to a string to tether and watch, if cops came, just cut the string. and let it fly away. dident plan on breez above house top. so let it climb. two minutes later two fire balls in the sky, miles away. one white, and other orange. then a boom that rocked the ground, I miss the sixties.

  • Ahhh! Mini-Hildenberg!

  • its nit hydrogen is dihydrogen but nice tho

  • isnt there a hole in your bottle?

  • I've always used common lye, water, and tin foil, but the hydrogen produced is in small amounts...have lots of trouble getting any volume in the balloon. The best trick is to tie a string to the balloon, light the loose end, and set it free. The heat from the flame will push the balloon high up into the sky and eventually BOOOOM! Aw yes...good times.

  • sodium hydroxide + water + aluminum = hydrogen + heat + sodium / aluminum salt

use a glass bottle submerged in water to help dissipate the copious heat. cheers!

  • hydrogen, heat, aluminium hydroxide (?) and water i guess..

  • Oh the Humanity

  • one of the easiest tricks you just need plumbing fluid that removes jams in pipes pllus it has to show the sign of corotion.

  • Hey could you please tell me what was in that bottle ???

  • hydrochloric acid and aluminum foil

  • @SimMaster What would happen to the hydrogen if hot plasma traveled through hydrogen fuel stored in a hydrogen fuel cell?

  • @flammable44 you can use the works toilet cleaner and aluminum foil.

  • @flammable44 there was a leprichaun inside the bottle teehee hee

  • Purify the gas through water, then tie the balloon and it'll float. Right now it's got a heavy substance called aluminum chloride, bubbling the hydrogen gas through water removes this impurity, thus less weight. Hydrogen is the lightest element, too.

  • Do you know what process they used to generate hydrogen? If it was sodium hydroxide, aluminum and water it won't float because of the large amout of water vapor from the heat of the reaction.

  • Sure it does float. See other vids here.

  • I inferred it didn't float from lucron's post. I use the lye solution and aluminum method myself and had some issues with too much water vapor being produced.

  • I tried it today, it float perfectly

It's good to not use to much sodium hydroxide - it makes the reaction slower but keep the heat down (i also put the bottle in a water bath)

Otherwise it shuold work well to let it bubble thru cold water - that would take away most of the steam

  • I sent you a message about the setup I use.

  • really nice setup

  • but if you do that.. then you probably wont get hydrogen and air.. that means it will be a bit weaker..

  • Yes maybe a little - but steam doesn't burn very well ether so I dont think it's that big difference.

But if putting some air in the baloon before putting it on the bottle then fill it upp all the way with hydrogen - that would give good blast - haha.

  • Thanks man! Didn't come to mind.
