  • That is such a cute doggy! I want a dog like that, but my mum says i cant have one

    :(

  • great video. thanks.

  • I like this video because you show the dog doing the wrong things as you correct him. Most videos I see people just have dogs that are already trained to do what they want to show on the video.

  • Dear Dogs Trust - thank you so much for posting this video. Tried in the indoor technique last night after viewing your video and got him approaching his favourite toy in a calm manner, on his lead, within 20 minutes! Also kept him on a really short leash with his halti this morning on his walk so he couldn't pull ahead of me and within 300 yards he had stopped trying to pull! I'm not saying we've cracked it, but what a difference! Definitely an overnight success, literally!

  • @LobusWobbles brilliant to hear it was a success! Thanks so much for the positive review :)

  • I'm going to be trying this with our otherwise well behaved, one year old German Shepherd. We've got everything else cracked apart from walking on the lead.

  • So I have to walk around with a bag of dog treats? Using treats to train a dog is absurd.

  • I do like this method of "no pull on the leash". I would combine it with the "turn quickly and go the other way" method,

  • Try doing a video with a dog who's not already trained, wheres the skill in this vid?

  • @themagootwo

wow you are an unappreciated twat, she gives free videos of proper technique and training and what do you do... whine and complain.

You are the lowest of the youtube skumbags.

  • very nicely produced videos!

however, am i right in saying that your dog there is barking for the toy and food? and, you are rewarding him for that behaviour? (just a thought)...

it looks to me like the dog is frustrated at the non-reward and is confused at what you are doing....

  • @edidasa Thanks for your comments. This video is to demonstrate how to train a dog to stop pulling on the lead. Digby and Carolyn were illustrating the steps and methods to take, and not specifically training Digby. I definitely see your point, but Digby is already fully trained and was probably a little bit fed up of filming! :)

  • Ths is the best I have seen yet. I have been using your method for sitting and lots of other things too and it works great! Thanks for sharing this. Very much appreciated!

  • @Humeren Thanks for the comments :)
