Don't people realize these celebrities are humans? I mean, I've met my share of celebrities musical and literary who are more than willing to spend time with fans, sign things and give back, but really. Granted, I'd probably wet myself and pass out if I had the opportunity to meet Clapton, but I wouldn't harrass the man if he didn't want to talk.
