  • Nostalgia

  • James Cromwell, one of the best actors to have not won an Oscar yet.

  • If I had words

To make a day for you

I sing you a morning golden and new

    I would make this day

    Last for all time

    Give you a night

    Deep in moonshine

    If I had words

    To make a day for you . . .

  • My goal is to one day do a jig like that.

  • whoever the three are that disliked this need to get a life!

  • Cromwell said in an actual interview a year ago that this was his favorite film to work on!

  • Now that is what I call something like a nice Irish penny whistle & jig. <3

  • I adore this song. There's something so heart warming about it :)

  • Use to sing this to my daughter when she was 2...

  • @MaXG65 awhhh thats beautiful !

  • @ballen008521 She's 14 now... I bet I could embarrass the hell out of her if I sang and danced this now! And I Will.... LOL

  • @ballen008521 Thank you luv...

  • makes me think of my grandad, he was great

  • totally cried at this.

  • cromwell hardly had any lines yet he still gives an amazing performace. that's great acting people

  • @Rodan16 I agree sooooo much!! I love him in this film!!

  • This is just so sweet!

  • Too bad for the less than one percent that didn't like this. They have no happy moments to share with us, do they?

  • James Cromwell plays above the rim.

  • i wanted myself a piggy after this film but all i got was a fat wife!

  • That'll do James, that'll do.

  • This is my favorite film moment of all time.

  • one person never had a morning golden and true

  • Despite how utterly ridiculous this part was, I love it. Its hard to beat watching an old man sing and do a weird jing, complete with a "HEEYAAH!"

  • I loved this movie growing up simply because of how innocence triumphs in this world no matter how dark things get, good will triumph, but looking back I also loved this move because of James Cromwell's performance, in this movie he looks exactly like my grandfather did before he past away in 1992, although I never really knew him that well, this character will forever remind me of the man who used to spoon feed me molasses as a child.

  • I love this and for some reason it reminds me of GOD at creation and His Love for us

  • he can dance. I still love this movie

  • anyone who dislikes this has no soul

  • I think the fact there are no "dislikes" speaks volumes

  • This part always makes me cry.

  • Thank you for posting this =)

  • wat babe movie is this?

  • the music is from saint saens 3rd symphony!!!movement 2 fun fact

  • jez dis song has been playin in my head this last few years but i never could remember the movie til der now!

  • oh memories from my child hood. This has always been my favorite scene from Babe.

  • @Dove77879 And also mine. This was, and ever will be an excellent scene :)

  • If I had words to make a day for you,

I'd sing you a morning, golden and true.

I would make this day last for all time,

then fill the night deep in moon shine.

  • I cried. This song has always been in my heart.

  • I gotta admit hes a great dancer lol i bet thats what hes always wanted to be besides farming and raising animals. :) hes a pretty good singer too :D Babe is also a good singer. I've always liked that dog Rex, he didnt like Babe at first but im sure glad he changed. "The boss needs you Babe." :)

  • God, I hope I'm that cool when I'm old. Who am I kidding, I'd like to be that cool now!

  • MEMORYS!

  • LOL this scene is epic.

  • James Cromwell is my hero Thank you james for all that you do for these magnificent animals. You are a hero to them and to millions of peole across the world. Thank you!!

  • i just llloooooovvveee that part that is my totally favorite part lol

  • @MsShihouin I still have the VHS, and watched it yesterday. I wept with joy a little.

  • This song always makes me cry ;n; no idea why, it's supposed to be happy.

  • And Cromwell's a vegetarian in real life. A true friend to the pigs!

  • This has got to be my favourite ever scene out of this movie =D

  • I remember when I was flying to Europe right after graduating from college. It was January, 1996. I saw the movie listed as 'Babe', and I thought, "I'm moving to Europe! Why do I get a kids movie?" Well, I watched it, and I absolutely adored it. It's a classic, and I love the cast.

  • Farmer Hoggett should come sing to everyone when they are feeling down.

  • I sang to my children and grandkids when they were babys... still do, they don't like it now though. My dogs and cats on the other hand love it when we sing and dance around. My family thinks I'm insane some times.

  • @mgwilliams1000 Wow how old is this film?

  • @goombamaria1 you're watching the wrong movies! check out the awards crop this year. incredible quality. (but i agree that we should bring back the classics!)

  • awwwwwww :)

  • dance like if nobody is watching you!!! haha, i love that movie, it's sad that i can't find it anywhere anymore :(

  • I want to have a pig so badly <3

  • Great movie and a great song.

Although it's a typical ''feel good movie'' and maybe a bit childish, I still enjoy watching it. A fantastic movie to watch at Christmas eve.

  • i loved films like this 1 cos the had a good meaning now all these new films are just about sex and drugs i say bring back the classics

  • @goombamario1

Stop being a retard. There have been films about sex since the beginning of time. Sex is a part of life. It's not something "bad". Also, there have been more family films you just haven't watched because you watch things like The Fast And The Furious. STFU.

  • @goombamario1 AMEN to that!!!

  • @goombamario1 Yes, sex and drugs have only existed because of these new films. People never would have thought to write about such impure things in the good old days.

Come on, I love this movie but people have been saying shit like that since people have said anything at all.

  • @solgonsar "Deep in moonshine" its not that there wasnt drugs doggy, its that drugs werent even called drugs. Sex was called love. We just dirtied up the good stuff in life with stupid words. Trust me...its still ALLLLLLL good.

  • I love this movie, plain and simple.

  • :')

  • Best scene

  • love

  • I love this movie!!!!!

  • go granpa!

  • This scene always makes me cry! Its fab!

  • this man can move

  • All the animals watching him LOL and the duck laghing at him

Quack quack quack sounds like laughing !

  • This scene makes me so happy <3 :'D

  • Woow, when i was a kid I find this movie interesting, but now, as 20-year-old guy I find it awesome, so deep and touching story :) I´m not ashamed to say it moves me a lot :)

  • @Transilvano ditto

  • The Sheep-Pig is a novel by British author Dick King-Smith. It was first published in 1983, retitled Babe The Gallant Pig in the U.S., and adapted for the screen as the 1995 film Babe. The book is set in rural England, where Dick King-Smith spent twenty years as a farmer.

  • 0 dislikes! lets keep it this way! Who cant like an amazing scene like this?

  • He broke in2 a jig because he felt joy. The ending is related because the farmer;s face shows his love 4 the pig. He is dancing because he now knows that Babe is going to survive--HE IS not able to put his joy in2 words so he dances instead.

At this point the piog is a bit confused by the farmer's behaviour. At the end if the movie the look on Babe's face shows that he reciprocates the farmer;s love. He wants to please the stalwart man---much as our dogs want to please us.

  • Aww yeah, time to cry

  • is he the official singer?

  • Who says old people can't dance?

  • @undercoveractor Does anybody?

  • @undercoveractor The acotr james oliver Cromwell is 70 years old when he was in this film I believe he was 55

  • and he will be 71 in 9 days

  • @undercoveractor That's not dancing. He's channeling the power of God through his body

  • I absolutely love this movie, one of my favorites

  • 1:02 skip to best part

  • thnks for posting!!

  • This was one of the sweetest, most genuine moments of the movie. This scene made me love the farmer/

  • the animals are just like wtf

  • And then I teared up because Babe knew the farmer loved him and wouldn't kill him.

  • *jumps into air* HYAA-*SNAP/CRACK*_AAAHHH!!!!!! *falls on floor not moving and in terrible pain* lol XD, thats what my dad would be like anyway XD

  • Lol at "there for" XD it is THEREFORE mug

  • Sorry to bust the bubble but this song isn't original....the melody is Saint-Saens's "Organ" Symphony mvt II

  • the absolute best part of this film ever!

  • me and my friends rehearsed this dance and did it in a night club lol was about 2 years ago

  • The best scene in the movie along with the ending, in my humble opinion. Gosh I love this movie. :)

  • Best scene in the morning after the ending, in my opinion :)

  • This song is so beautiful!

  • not too mention joy, its just joy

  • there so was a reason, this was a man feeling alive. feeling like the inklings and machinations of his mind were more than just folly

  • I had just 6 when it came out. When i was 15, i started to feel that i needed english countryside. I studied about it, i went to internet see it, i read "All Things Great and Small" from James Herriot, (James Wight ), i saw the tv show adaptation, i had british english accent classes, etc. Last summer, with 20, i finally got the means, the time, and the freedom to go and see it by myself, in loco. A passion (some say obsession), created by a child movie...If life is unfair, tv is worse!

  • @l23722 'Babe' actually takes place in Australia :) But I love the James Herriot books too.
