This is beyond stupid. Aside from the horrible form, clean and jerk is a power exercise. You are not going to get very strong or powerful by doing low weight (badly) for 30 reps. Who is teaching this crap?

Oh God. That guy had an arched back and his hips were definitely not low enough in the start position...in fact I think he was using his back in the clean rather than his legs and hips. And that was a press, not a jerk. He needs more speed and pull too (shrug shoulders)...and higher elbows once the bar is cleaned.

Actually Crossfit is great for increasing strength and endurance. You spend less time training and get better results. It also focuses on proper form for all workouts. I managed to take 13 mins off my half marathon without running other than the workouts!!! Nothing more than a mile. Also can lift better and ride faster. Great program!!
Actually, that depends on the trainer. A good trainer would have you do this workout only after insuring you are well familiar with the movement. Some people just research CF online and never even get proper instruction

Terrible form, yes in CrossFit you will not have as tight a form as a single/double but this is disgusting. I think the point of the workout is full squatting and jerking not just pulling the weight to shoulders and pushing. It's much harder with correct form.

start with a deadlift, start to jump when the weight gets to your knees, once you're in the air, pull yourself under the bar, catching it in the squat position...now stand up...your jerks are fine...
practice with a broomstick then start adding weight, just 5-10lbs at a time.
Great video. I love crossfit. I would love to be able to do these workouts one day. I just started weightlifting a month ago and im loving it. Before that i used to do light weights incorporated with MMA workouts. Im guessing crossfit is like that. Endurance + Strength. Keep the vids coming :)
duke please use your legs a bit more. your lifts will become much better and youll tire out alot less. learn from girl, how she keeps her back flat and chest up and uses her legs to push off the floor.

Form has a lot of problems. Biggest 2 things they can do is lift on a better surface (i.e., not asphalt) and get some decent shoes to lift in.
