I've seriously started considering buying this after reading through the SA thread and then reading the contents of the upcoming free expansion. A few questions though:

1) Is it possible or at least viable to focus entirely on archery? The melee combat strikes me as button mashing.

2) I notice that there is no projectile when you fire your bow. Is this because of a graphical setting to reduce lag? It seems like it would make it easier to learn how to line shots up.

I just couldn't stand the complete and utter lack of polish in this game, and when i say polish im referring to everything, theres no balance, the graphics are unfinished, the features are not well implimented, etc. etc.

I would wait for mortal online if you want Darkfall made by people who have a clue. However if you want ginormous 1000+men battles, you'll have to stick by Darkfall, since I doubt any other game will have the ability to have as massive battles as this game for a long time.

In darkfall you can tell who your supposed to be killing by - lets say your name is "Player Name"

If someone looks at you, and your in a guild called "Guild Name it will say "Player Name of guild name"

you just look at it and if it says your guild, dont kill him, if its another guild, kill him!

Ive got a question about the game. Are there any other magic attack spells besides these blue bolts/mana missles? I heard youd be able to get fire/earth/air etc spells but it appears everyones still a caster/archer/melee hybrid like in beta

I think the reason is because it takes a long fucking time to increase your magic skill. A lot of people likely are not trying. Melee is just easier to hop right into.

This game is realistic, it's not just going to GIVE you new spells, you have to earn them. It's hard work, but pays off in the end.

It's not like, say warcraft, where you cannot help but level, and as you are forced to level you are given new skills.
