Im new to the Kpop scene. Loving alot of songs people put on their lists. These bands seem to be on everyones lists. I feel as if there aren't that many K-pop artists (at least compared to J-pop) or is that just me?

It's not that there aren't a lot. Because there are a LOT of artists. It's just that the most common ones you're probably seeing are the most popular...that sounds like a "duh" statement. But it's true. These are the ones most people see. Honestly, Nell (an indie rock group) beats out most of these artists, on my list. I love DBSK and Super Junior. Keep digging and you'll eventually get addicted to a ton of artists. I recommend MBLAQ, 2PM, Big Bang, and if you like the girl groups 2NE1 and f(x).
