This car was basically related to the Toyota Platz/Echo 4 Door Sedan in terms of sharing the same chassis/platform, engine line up and tire sizes. The only difference the body design. The First Generation 2000-03 Toyota Prius also share the same chassis/platform as the Toyota Platz/Echo 4 Door Sedan as well and the body was a heavily reworked Platz as well. Now Toyota India is also producing a similar size car and design called Toyota Etios in 2011. The Etios resembles the Platz/Vios than Belta.
