  • Well said, but I would go further and say that regardless of how ordinary enlightenment may or may not be, we still need simplicity and authentic humanity.

  • Very well said. thanks. So few wants simplicity. they just want someone to take away their problems and responsibility. Adonis Alexander Foundation.

  • You say go to a therapist because therapists aren't gurus...? Psychology isn't exactly physics. Freud wasn't Issac Newton. This video started off interesting but this guy at the end, Jody....not ... "enlightened"

  • "most seekers need to go to therapists not gurus" hahahahah, jewish therapists, right?

sorry moron but if you're gonna break fake idols and gods, break both gurus AND therapists. cos they're acting the same way, pretending to save you while taking all your money. when all you need is sane family, good friends, fulfulling job and some hobbies/missions in life.

A master would recognize another master, just like one sociopath recognizes another. I own a motorcycle-- now, I know that just because a wo/man is wearing a leather jacket, doesn't mean they own a motorcycle; but who would take me seriously if I wore a pink robe while speeding down the mountain?

  • @carefulcarpenter

Depends how fast you were going.

Most Harley riders I know are imitators. Identical leather wearing posers with loud engines.

Only the ego cares for how others perceive him/her.

If you're enjoying the ride, what does it matter what you're wearing?

Be mindful of the ego and why it says a pink robe is not correct.

Do you ride for you or others? Maybe it's a combo of both...

  • Not only gurus but also the so-called "plastic shamans". Thank you for posting!

  • Ramana lived in a cave, half starving, with rats crawling on him for 22 years. When he finally found self-enquiry he was immediately rooted in compassion from all his suffering. When Eckhart Tolle realized self-enquiry after decades of living nicely in Europe off the state and getting a free education and sipping wine. He discovered self-enquiry but it was not rooted in compassion for suffering. That is the distinction I see and why so many 'gurus' in the West are so cruel.

  • @duncan36 good point. the cave dwelling rat-man knows all.

  • Doug Rushkoff is wise & he's been lucky enough to spend time with the likes of Robert Anton Wilson - his definitions are succinct & lucid! Tom Robbins is another sharp cat, as is Joseph Campbell & Alan Watts. The mystical path is an option but, as a wise man once said, "you've got to really want it, like a man whose hair is on fire wants a pond in which to dive into."

Robbins once said "if you subscribe to a dogma, any dogma, no matter how benign it may appear, you'll NEVER be truly free."

  • Of course, his palpable anger and attachment to this issue aren't doing much for his handle on enlightenment....

I bet he'd talk shit about Ramana Maharshi.

  • @7freddie7: Way to show YOUR attachment guessing he'd talk shit

about Ramana. By all means continue to waste your time evaluating

every individual who has something to say on the subject rather than

    addressing what they are saying.

  • @7freddie7 Good Point/ This is 'mental masturbation' (although perhaps at a 'finer' level) - real Awakening is undeniable. Egos will 'evaluate' forever ad naseum.. Of course there is 'false teachers' that's part of it.

  • Awesome video
