  • yeah it definitely look scary but i view it as something majestic... amazed what nature can do...=)

  • i like

  • that was though and scary..thanks for the upload..!!

  • DAMN NATURE, YOU SCARY!

  • hehe he said icy ball

  • snowball earth? throw that in the playground and u get beat up

  • @Ennsey Lol ^^

  • i always ask myself, HOW DID THEY DID THIS VIDEO?, IS THIS TRUE?.. Amazin :'D

  • title is misleading :|

  • its not in a volcanoe and not talking about one

  • its called " inside a volcano ' and its not really in a volcano or talking about one really

  • *facepalms* Hey, he has an accent he has to be in Scotland. Hey, I've never watched TV before, he's obviously using a camera and talking, filming himself from feet away. I totally don't get how earth is so sensitive, the only one sustaining life so how come balance is so important? Oh hey, save the whales....honestly, comments should not be enabled for any video.

  • but on a gloubul scayul.

    ^

  • why do you call it inside a vocano if your not realy inside a vocano?

  • This planet is so mysterious The whole galaxy is mysterious. Will we ever unlock all the mysterious of earth, space, the past. WOW i wish we could experiance black holes and other galaxies. I wish we could all live with dinosaurs. Will there always be mysterious? Or will one day humans unlock all the secrets? Will there even be humans by the time that happens? Wait will it happen? ??? im confusing myself..... Is there going to be a 2012 thing :( will there be survivors? sigh.. ima shut up...

  • good thing volcanos edsist because if they wert born it will still be cold

  • Vent the geothermal steam and stop eruptions

  • Do you believe this guys really on a moutain? He's on a mountain, he talking and he's running a camera. Do you believe what your seeing?

  • There are volcanoes in Scotland?

  • @Edinburgh Castle is built on a volcano

  • Had I lived 700 million years ago, I'd of discovered the iPod/iPhone/iPad and all the other iThings 699,999,989 years before Steve Jobs did.

Well, you know it's 99% luck and 1% hard work. So enjoy it Mr. Jobs.

  • and of course they were all there to witness it happening and videotape it too. smh...

  • inside a vulcano and ice? wtf

  • seriously...what accent is this?

  • I love you volcanoes!!

  • i wonder y i dont beleive this

  • I all I heard was "Aroond" and I changed it D:

  • First Its Horrible Then Good Then Even More Horrible Then Somthing Good

  • Why don't they have a homosexual-like voice narrating the video? Why do they always use a british, australian or deep-talking american voice? Why not use an illegal-mexican or ESL chinese accent like voice?

  • @espntimestwo thats some real shit

  • @espntimestwo I can do a German voice-over. Better?

  • @espntimestwo I can do a German voice-over. Better?

I don't think that if a guy from Texas will give his voice to such reports noone will understand one word at all.

    So what?

  • @espntimestwo cuz there racist and sexist cuz only male voice

  • @espntimestwo Because English native males have the best, firm and clear voice. If a Mexican was raised with English, and was really well at it, he would have the same chance of narrating as any white man. Take Morgan Freeman for example.

  • @espntimestwo This isn't just any old English Narrator! This is thee Prof Iain Stewart; a Scottish geologist, and professor of Geoscience Communication, at the University of Plymouth & one of the world's most passionate Volcanologists of our time. Don't worry, I was a bit miffed at first by he's strong accent! But I learnt what a Privilege it is to have someone as insanely passionate as Iain Stewart presenting only the Best of these kinds of Documentaries.

Trust me, this guy is shit hot!

  • @espntimestwo because you wouldn't understand half the words they would say.

  • 2:45 Noah's flood

  • i don't like ice age and volcanoes

  • Something does not add up in the video - where did the carbon from the CO2 came from? 700 Million years ago life has not started on the planet (well, that is what I read) and the ice record does not support this hypothesis. It was rather volcanoes who heated up the earth by melting ice and put a lot of water vapor (our primary greenhouse gas) into the atmosphere. Plate tectonics could also have played a role with large land masses moving onto the equatorial regions.

  • 0:01

  • I kind of missed the old NAT'L Geographic documentaries...

  • when do you go inside?

  • is that going to happen in 2012 ?

  • That guy kinda talks like shrek hahaha

  • But in winter months the power of ice gets its revenge on the volcanoes.

  • Its been proven that the earth is in the middle of an ice age. Lucky for us, its in the middle of a warm period. So, what does that mean? Well, it means that sometime in the next 50000 years or so, the warm period will end. The glaciers will advance and global warming will be a thing of the past.

  • 2:46

OMGGG THAT WATER LOOKS SO FRESHHH LOL

  • strange accent this guy had

  • Awwwwwwwwwwww

  • gytretertertertetre

  • URGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Narnia?

  • Dark Clouds Vs White Clouds

  • The guy on this video was Groundskeeper Willie before He got old and moved to Springfield.

  • first impression of this video?... LOL!!!!! "started to kewl".... this guy has the strongest english accent ive ever heard

  • Ice Sheets: Haha Earth will never warm again.

    Volcanoes: SHUT UP BITCH!!

  • instead of a water based one like every one else :(

  • comment removed

  • Ice cap....I need my blue snowboard again

  • i love fire so much if i had a choice i would much rather wanna be a magma based life form like ben 10s heat blast :D

  • haha icy balls

  • funny accent

  • 0:31 tire tracks

  • OMG I JUST %$^&%*&^^*& HAD TO ^&&*

  • aaannnndd you know this hhhhooww

  • now that was cool

  • @Myorw Dang those are some educational facts... Thanks alot sir

  • and now what the volcanos did we are doing it with pollution

  • Well i guess we need a ice age3! ;P

  • Vs are fusion driven

  • Eruptions can be halted

  • Waaaaay too much ice for a volcano vid.....

  • so C02 saved our planet from eternal ice age & now it's apparently destroying it??

  • @DannyBoySmith1993 i dunno man things r crazy like that

  • @DannyBoySmith1993

    Exactly :D

  • @DannyBoySmith1993 yeah... lol

  • @DannyBoySmith1993 its not just CO2, but yes CO2 is an essential gas in stabilizing global temperatures. But too much of a good thing can be bad, which is the case with CO2

  • @vaiosamsung This Ice Age was the Sun Fault because during that time the cooled down a few degrees, suppose what would happen if the sun fire was out, all life on earth would die and earth would become an icy hard ball no life would exisit. now imagen if the sun was destorid the entire planetary inlinement would be off and would become a complete asteroid field bombarding each other.

  • @DannyBoySmith1993 u see the difference is in " it's cold - CO2 makes the snow melting and the ice age is over or: it's already warm - CO2 makes the glaciers melting and a new ice age begins"

the problem is, that the percentage of CO2gas is very high right now and covers our earth in a thick mantle so that the earth gets warmer and warmer, till, for example, the gulf stream stops streaming and so on. Thats an indicator for a new Ice Age according to many geographs

  • @DannyBoySmith1993

Too much of it is. Now the Earth is going from one extreme to another. Too cold, to too hot. Neither is good.

  • @DannyBoySmith1993 CO2. 1 Carbon atom bound to 2 Oxygen atoms per molecule. Not C02, which would be C2, regular Carbon... sorry to sound like a nerd! ^^

  • @DannyBoySmith1993 lol global warming too much=death 2 little=death

  • @DannyBoySmith1993 The CO2 helped to heat the atmosphere, by continuing to add more CO2 to the atmosphere we are helping to heat the atmosphere even more, upsetting the delicate balance we have come to enjoy.

  • @DannyBoySmith1993 not necessarily saved or destroying but just...making different. Changing the Earth for a new era. Many species that inhabited Earth during the ice age could not live in the heat that was caused when the Earth started to heat up again. Maybe now it's just going to heat up so much that it makes way for new species, killing off humans. Who knows?

  • @DannyBoySmith1993 basically CO2 was released to the atmosphere which warmed up the planet, now we're apparently having too much of CO2 which means that the planet will be getting warmer and warmer

  • @DannyBoySmith1993 Can you... think?

  • it's THAT guy with the accent :D

  • so volcanoes made the earth warmer by releasing carbon dioxide and warming the ice?

i thought the volcanic ash from volcanoes is what prevented the sun's rays to penetrate into the earth.

    anyone know the real truth?

  • @Paint4ever2

haha the ash had to fall eventually, and its not like the ash couldve made it any worse than it already was at that point. It was the carbon dioxide after the ash settled that heated the earth

  • @Paint4ever2

    Both are true.

  • do you theres a volcano in new york thousund of people is stuck on the air-port

  • @101moin i agree with 101moin someday i think it might im not sayin its gonna but thats what i think :(

  • nature is gunna kill us all someday

  • NERDS ;D Haha i was bored so i looked this up! xD

  • More junk science from National Geographic; intent in convincing the ignorant and gullible masses of the world that CO2 is the cause of global warming, and that we're to blame for the 'catastrophic' warming of the planet. The day is not far when Al Gore and the globalist elites will have us convinced that these volacanos are somehow our fault. Another story concocted at the Bohemian Grove, as far as I'm concerned.

  • @cuadrature

yeah i hear you man im sick of it... me im planning on getting my ass out of here and moving to venus as soon as i can... theyre just trying to keep the conspiracy alive with all their bullshit about all the carbon dioxide keeping venus at an average 850 degrees year round... and they tell us shit like we need to breathe oxygen to survive... theyre probably over there right now drinking a cocktail the dicks

  • you are the "bravest" man you know

  • I love these sorts of videos... But this guy's accent was way too rich for me. o_o

  • @cherifa123

oh really. you seem very knowlegable and intelegent. please inform us of more?

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • @cherifa123

You are confusing CO2 with volcanic ash. There was more at work here than the greenhouse effect.

1.Prior to the volcanoes, the surface was covered in ice, reflecting the sunlight back into space.

    2. The ash eventually settled out of the atmosphere, absorbed sunlight and warmed the surface. (in the old days, street departments spread cinders on icy streets to melt snow and ice)

    3. Increased CO2 levels trapped the heat this produced..

  • blabla miljons years ago our planet started to co ????????? what the fuck does he saying?

  • So we need a big volcano now to get some warming....

  • ye its good, but when the hot front meets with the cold front what does it create? Fucking big storm and those creatures are over our head after several days

  • ty green house effect

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • This vid is titled 'Inside a Volcano', but it seems we're not inside or even just near a volcano most of the time.

  • Global warming is utter nonsense. We're not going to stew in our own juices any time soon.

  • Comment removed

  • global warming is a consprisy theory now...fuck al gore and his nobel preace prize...fuck all the money we wasted...

  • Global warming is true, but not because of the cars and fossil fuels... it's because of deforestation.

  • yeah but fossil fuels pollute the earth damaging is atmosphere

  • Actually the temperature has increased in several different places on Earth. (For example, where I'm living: Sweden) We've had the warmest days in history (Of Sweden) 12 times. In ONE year. And this was 1 month after summer supposedly was over.

  • I live in southern Texas, Houston to be exact, and it snowed before Winter even started. It did the same last year too! Global warming can kiss my ass.

  • Pollution = Green House Effect

Green House Effect = Extreme temprature rise.

Temprature rise = Sea based ice melts/Breaks away and melts.

And, when the Sea Based goes away; the land based falls into the water and WILL melt.

Ice = Compressed water, too much water = Higher water levels.

You guys can do the math of the last one and think out what it means.

  • Good. We'll all be dead.

  • Indeed, molecules such as CO2 and CH4are IR active meaning that they absorb radiation, which in turn leads to the Greenhouse effect. However, human CO2-release is only a tiny fraction compared to nature. And in fact, water vapour is the undisputed culprit regarding the Greenhouse effect, not CO2 or methane.

Ice is not at all compressed water. In fact if you compress ice (which is pretty difficult being a solid), you'll get water. A well-know fact is that ice is water is denser than ice.

  • @Mickker07 Wrong, Ice is more or less compressed water by the fact that they have the same Molecular build up, even though the ice is more dense, hence why ice is denser, and ice becomes water when compressed 'cause of the friction which increases the temperature, and just a small increase melts ice, since the freezing point of water is 0 degrees Celcius.

  • Fail with the dense part. "(even though the ice is more dense,) hence why ice is denser"

    Remove within ( ).

  • @aristocrappy

    Ice is more dense?

LOL! I suppose that is why ice FLOATS.

  • Dense doesn't always mean buoyancy Carus0e.

  • What a maroon! Density is mass/volume. If something is denser than water it will not float.

Water expands as it freezes, so ice is less dense than water.

  • This is total proof that Global Warming is not only happening but is being caused by man.

  • scotish accent i awesome

  • Amazing Creation!

  • you really scared me :P Not

  • I don't actually know why we should be afraid of global warming... Doesn't it just mean earth will get hotter and shit won't grow and nobody will buy jumpers or jackets?

  • Its because the ice caps will melt. If so the earth will be flooded killing millions. Thats why they are afraid.

  • are there really enough ice caps to flood earth though? it will happen really slowly as well so couldn't we just build floating stuff like water world?

  • Theres enough to flood earth as they melt more water is increased and the sea levels rise around the earth. Its slow at the moment but its constantly increasing the amount thats melting I cant remember how long they said it will take but I believe they said 20 years or more.

  • last year, there was more antarctic ice by area than at any time since satellite photos were taken. And the eleven year solar cycle is now three years overdue, there are NO sunspots now and usually there are hundreds or thousands in a given year. the sun is inactive. THe ice is NOT going away. We are getting colder since 1998...

  • daveperk wtf are you talking about? humans give off so much crap, like ton and tons more then the natural amount of CO2 , carbon dioxide is already naturally admitted into the air, which cause the green house effect, WHICH makes some of the suns heat stay within earths atmosphere, well that keep us warm, but to much CO2 is like a blanket that keeps in all the pollution and heat, there for melting ice and global warming! so it doesn't have much to do with the sun...

  • Not accurate scotland567. Go a learn Archimedes law and you will see melting of ice floating on water will not increase the water level. Ice sitting on land mass of Antartica will not melt because the underlying rock is not warm and the air above the ice never goes above the melting point of ice.

  • historical 'warm periods' between ice ages are about ten thousand yrs long.. ours is about eleven thousand years long.. an ice age is overdue.. warm periods are very SHORT compared to ice ages, historically speaking.. this warm period might be over..

at any rate, global 'warming' would mean more temperate zones, more agriculturally viable areas.. more food... cold means LESS food.. I prefer warming.. but cold is coming.

  • well no, it will make the north pole and Antarctica melt, which will kill all the artic animals, also it will mean the sea level will rise, flooding all of the coasts. Also the global warming is caused by tons of pollution, which means the air wouldn't be as safe to breath.

  • the lightning at 2:54 is so freakin awesome!

  • Yep, billions and billions and billions and billions and billions and billions, did I say billions? Oh were was I, Oh yes, billions, billions billions,

    Wow lot of faith there....

  • Yellowstone will fix the global warming issue :)

  • u ppl dont get it,

human are speeding up the process or global warming by a tremendious speed and this global warming hotter than any global warmming thats ever happend over the history of anything o.o

  • i will admit my mouth and behavior have gotton me in this mess but i belive u need to make sure i didnt become worse fine for the good of all i get it But i also feel this level of responce is more than is called for i have a big mouth and temper and i did stupid shit as a kid wtf its not like im a gay drug dealing vicelord termonater ploting like dr evil i mean throw me a fricken bone here there is a line i would not cross even in my darkest hours that has to count for something

  • Nerds rule the world...(bill gates...ect.) Global Warming happens every so many years humans are just speeding up the process. If you were to look at the temp. 20 years ago until today you would see a pattern.

  • kinda makes me think god really exsist.

  • he does

  • better believe it

  • indeed it does....makes u more close to GOD

  • well some people believe in God and i know i do and some people dont believe

  • Then why was the planet warm to begin with, before this ice age? CO2 trapped then? And what about the "Little Ice Age", which last roughly 400 years and ended in the mid 19th century? What happened to that trapped CO2 that came from these volcanoes?

  • global warming got us out of the ice age...i say global warming is our friend. lol :P

  • Well those "nerds" are way smarter than you probably.

  • Start; Let's see if I learn anything new...

    Finish; No, I didn't. Aww.

  • There's a dove in the clouds at 00:38

  • The guy's talking about 700 million years ago, then you suddenly see this guy walking in the snow xD

  • XD what are you trying to say? he was talking about the beginning of the ice age 700 Mya and then talked about the current temps around the world while he was walking in the snow.

  • These channels exaggerate way to much.

  • Oh my gosh Thank goodness For volcanoes! lol

  • My sister is learning about volcanoes

    Thanx for the info

  • perfect video

  • earth got icy and was like " life must

die!!111!!! but then volcanoes pwned it 4 great justice with global warmins

nao to honour aour 1337 volcanoes we also put moar c02 into the atmosphere 4 great justice but its a bad thing nao:(

so the moral of the story is volcanoes r 4 justice and are made of win we suck ass though

    the end

    epic win!! :)

  • Ice-age = pwnt

  • So, volcanoes doesn't like ice much, so when it gets very icy everywhere they start bursting? Hm.

  • no....

  • This was soo helpful!! Thanks for the video!

  • i dont think volcanos are ganna save our asses this time

  • stsk...tsk...

this video originally came from BBC World...

and the guy talking is Ian Stuart...

  • eeeeeeeeeeeuhhhhhhh... sow

  • lool i am only watching this cuz i have a test on earthquakes and volcanoes loool

  • then you are a bit thick...

  • Bad comment, this is education not television k((

  • guy talkin reminds me of old scrooge stories scrooge mcduck lol
