WHERE IS A COMPREHENSIVE, STEP BY STEP FOR BEGINNER TUTORIAL for setting this up with APC40, and Ableton Live??! How is it so impossible to do.

Hello..... Great vids but I think there is allot of info missing. Im trying to set up my APC40 with Molar with the monomulator but I must be getting something wrong. Has anyone got a clearer explanation of how to do this. Pleazzzze.....

hi im looking for vids on how to use apc40 with MLRV but the search keeps coming up with MONOMULATOR i dnt wna use the apc like a step sequencer more like a drum pad that also triggers loops. isnt that what MLRV does?/ plz help

I am having difficulty with assigning the "APC automat to Live" and the "APC automap from Live." In your video, you say to select "APC Emu" and do not have this in my drop-down menu. I only have "Akai APC40, AU DLS Synth 1, from MaxMSP1, and from Max MSP2." I tried using "Akai APC40" and followed the rest of the tutorial but it is causing some weird midi interference or something... can you please help??? Thanks. Oh, also, in Ableton's preferences, "APC Emu" is not available either.

@wooferwolfmusic If your on a Mac, go to applications, utility, audio MIDI set up. In the top bar, select window, Show MIDI Window.

Double Click IAC Driver. Click the + sign to add a port and name it "APC Emu to"

Create another named "APC Emu from" Before you close out, make sure the "Device is Online" box is checked.

In Live's MIDI Preferences, make sure "APC Emu to" has the yellow "On" under the Remote section. Look on the video at make sure your preferences are all the same as his

ok, is there is any help in how to set up, IAC Busses, how you rename, how you set up the whole thing...

I'm using a APC-20, I'm pretty sure this will work out, but need to know how to set up the whole IAC busse....

seen this thing is useless if I can not get the whole enchilada

Thanks a lot for this clear and awesome tutorial. I have a little problem though, everything is working except the molar40h part.

I can't seem to get the Molar button while pressing the SHIFT + Send A (ON APC-40). Am i missing something ??

I tried using the Monome Serial As well but with no avail.

@aaronp2k Thanks a bunch for the tip on using ports 2 and 3. I had tried everything, including a mix of Loopbe with Midi Yoke, but it just wasn't stable until I tried putting Yoke 2 for "to Live" and Yoke 3 for "from Live".

i have the max/msp, but in the notes midi port and alider midi port, i dont have the max msp option, nor do i have it in the midi sync in ableton?

hey, great work, i would like to make one suggestion/request (if this sort of thing isnt too much hassle to achieve) which is to have an option to switch of the leds for keyboard mode, basically so i could send midi back to the grid to make them light up when notes are triggered in the drum rack. So basically the same way drum racks mode works with the launchpad. If you had time to do that would be awesome. thanks

cannot get this to work in windows, iv tried using midi yoke but it won't work, there is no activity at all on akai apc40 so by the looks of things its not sending/receiving anything. have you got a guide to set this up in windows?

@Aaronp2kOfficial i tried installing full max for live instead of just using the runtime and now it seems to respond but then both live and monomulator crash :S

@KevinWBinder you install midi yoke, then you need to instal max for live (I didn't install the runtime, I installed the whole package). then I ran the monomulator before opening ableton live. I followed the instuctions from this video for the exception of the apc automap to/from live. for apc automap to live i used out to midi yoke 1 and for apc automap from live i used out from midi yoke 2. to my understanding, u can't have them both the same number.

@KevinWBinder and finally, i opened ableton live and went into midi setup and used in from midi yoke 1 and out to midi yoke 2. if that doesn't work then try using numbers 2 and 3 because later on it stopped working and i had to use the higher numbers for some reason

Thanks for the tutorial... I'm new to Mac... can you tell me how to setup the IAC buses? How did you rename them as well? You seem to have different names for different Busses I can't seem to do that. Also can you rename various midiports in the preferences... when you have lots of hardware it's MUCH easier to have them all labeled.

Everthing works smoothly until the max patch and the molar plugin.

What i don't get is what happens in the live session. How so you route your midi from molar to another track? It seems that there is no midisignal comming into live nor the molar plugin... HELLLLPPPP ;-)

great tutorial but can u make a video on how to use monochrome. I having trouble setting monochrome up to trigger midi on the impulse drum machine in ableton. i followed the settings in the video for the preferences in live but I can monochrone to sequence impulse.
